The aim of the study is to investigate the opinion of students about futsal as future football coaches. A total of 76 students from the National Sports Academy „Vasil Levski“, Sofia, from the third and fourth year, Football Major, were surveyed. The survey conducted was of a closed type, contained 10 questions and was conducted in an electronic environment, using google forms. Despite the not so high level and popularity of futsal in Bulgaria, from the survey conducted we can note that football students from the National Sports Academy have an enviable knowledge of this type of football game, as a large part of the young specialists have watched and even played futsal. It is undisputed that the students' opinion is that futsal can be used as a training tool in football and that practicing futsal would raise the level of the players.

- Summary/Abstract:This report investigates the transformative impact of artificial intelligence (AI) and social media on fan engagement in university sports within the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution [4], [6]. The purpose is to analyze how these technologies reshape communication models and contribute to sustainable management, community building, and event optimization via the „Twin Transition“ concept [11]. The methodology involves a systematic analysis of scientific literature, a study of best practices (USA), and a synthesis of ethical frameworks and digital maturity models. The results indicate that prior to the implementation of predictive analytics, the critical prerequisite is the establishment of a fundamental data architecture. In this framework, AI is utilized to structure information flows, while social media transforms students into active content co-creators. This approach lays the foundation for „Connected Venues“ [7], shifting the strategic focus from direct revenue generation to resource optimization and the enhancement of the institutional image [4]. The conclusion states that the strategic synergy between digitalization and sustainability („Twin Transition“) is a critical factor for the economic, social, and ecological viability of university sports programs by 2030.

As Ivan Vazov notes: „A healthy mind in a healthy body, that’s our motto!“ However, modern students often face challenges that limit the ability to maintain a healthy balance. The busy curriculum, exam stress, and limited financial resources often lead to compromises in the area of health. The aim of this study is to examine the attitude of students from the UNWE and LTU towards health culture, the fight against harmful habits, and their physical activity. To conduct the study, we used a survey method among first and second year students from the University of National and World Economy and the University of Law. The analysis of the results shows that over 60% of the surveyed students know that an active lifestyle has a positive impact on their health. As a result of the research conducted, we can summarize that sports and healthy eating improve physical condition and reduce stress levels.

- Page Range:364-374
- No. of Pages:11
- Keywords:crisis communications; social media; sports organizations; European Super League; Olympic Games
- Summary/Abstract:Recent research (2020 – 2025) on strategic crisis communication in the field of sports highlights the central role of social media as a tool for managing reputational risks and relationships with stakeholders. Effective crisis communication requires a balance of transparency, empathy, and strategic message formulation in the digital environment. The application of theoretical frameworks such as the Situational Crisis Communication Theory (SCCT) and the Image Repair Theory demonstrates that audience reactions on social networks simultaneously shape and reflect public trust in sports organizations. New models – the Social Media Users’ Crisis Response (SMUCR) model and the Crisis Communication for Professional Sport (CCPS) model-offer more flexible, stakeholder-oriented approaches. Sports organizations must integrate data analysis, cultural sensitivity, and transparency to manage crisis communication effectively in social media. The methodological approach of this study is based on the analysis of two representative case studies: the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and the public controversies following the opening ceremony, as well as the collapse of the European Super League (2021). The choice of these two cases is motivated by their global public and social media resonance, which reflects different types of communication crises – reputational, cultural, and managerial. In both contexts, social media became a key space for reaction, criticism, and the mobilisation of stakeholders, significantly influencing the reputation and legitimacy of sports organizations. In both cases, stakeholder reactions in the online environment surpassed the official messages of the organizations in both speed and scale, revealing a lack of proactivity, transparency, and two-way communication. Sports institutions often perceive social media as a one-way announcement channel rather than a space for dialogue and management of public attitudes. This can lead to a loss of narrative control and an erosion of trust in sports organizations.

- Summary/Abstract:Streaming platforms (over-the-top, OTT) have established themselves as a key source for media content consumption, with their evolution including a significant entry into the sports events segment. In response, global sports leagues are developing their own digital services, which offer a more complex viewing experience through additional functionalities: live statistics, personalized viewing modes, following specific athletes or teams, spoiler removal options, and participation in virtual fan leagues. This massive influx of OTT video is driving significant transformations in the sources, habits, preferences, and behaviour of the sports audience. This report examines these changes through two main methods: a meta-analysis of data on viewership and viewer behaviour, and case studies. Additionally, a content analysis is performed to explore the functionalities of the different platforms. The goal is to track changes in the audience and to classify the main characteristics, strengths, and weaknesses of the digital platforms chosen by sports organizers. Additionally, the role of traditional television in the context of these new trends is also examined.
