Summary/Abstract: The Men's Volleyball World Championship in the Philippines opened a new chapter for the Bulgarian national team. After 55 years, our national team played in the championship final. In the match for the world title, the Bulgarians lost 1 – 3 to Italy and won the silver medals. The last medal for the men was won 19 years ago at the World Championship in Japan in 2006 – bronze. By reaching the final, the young Bulgarian team delivered the biggest sensation of the championship in the Philippines, with top players including Aleksandar Nikolov, Аlex Grozdanov and Simeon Nikolov. The aim and objectives of the present study are to track the playing effectiveness of the best attackers from the finalist teams of the championship and to draw conclusions.
