Summary/Abstract: The aim of the study is to characterize the current presence of boxing in the curricula of Bulgarian universities, while also tracing its historical development from Ancient Greece and Rome to modern educational institutions. The methodology includes a retrospective review of specialized sources, an analysis of university curricula, interviews with students and lecturers, and a standardized ten-question survey. The results show that the presence of boxing in Bulgarian universities remains limited. The survey reveals that boxing is well known and positively evaluated in terms of personal development, yet actual participation is low due to insufficient promotion. In conclusion, the study highlights the discrepancy between the existing possibilities and the sport’s actual place in university education, and outlines prospects for targeted expansion.
