Summary/Abstract: Padel is a racket sport with a complex interaction structure, combining elements of tennis and squash within a confined court with specific ball rebound dynamics. Although the sport is often perceived as offense-oriented, contemporary analysis indicates that effective defensive play is a critical factor for long-term success. This study aimed to analyze the kinematic and tactical characteristics of defensive actions in competitive padel, focusing on shot direction and effectiveness. The methodology involved observation of 47 elitelevel matches (P1 – Madrid) with 96 international players, using a 12-zone court division to assess shot type (forehand/backhand), trajectory (cross-court/down the line), and depth.
