Improvement of the product flexibility, which is the result of the organization learning process, is an important factor of the growth of its value. Thus, according to the authors, it becomes essential to establish certain guidelines – indicators that allow to control and evaluate the flexibility. In the context of the above, it becomes essential to carry out research and analysis in the framework of which the authors: a) will initiate a discussion of the topic of improvement of the organization’s competitiveness, including query of the related literature, remaining in direct relation to the research subject, b) will propose an evaluation index of flexibility of the product, according to the adopted criteria where price, quality, timing, size of the batch and the payment terms are its key agents, c) will develop methodologies for assessing the flexibility of the manufacturing plant from the perspective of the recipient – the potential ordering party, and d) will verify the adopted method of flexibility evaluation in the practice of manufacturing facilities, analysing the processes of implementation of a specific product.

Modern companies operating in the global economy are facing the need to align their organizational-managerial conditions created by the specific factors of individual local markets in which they operate. The implemented internationalization of the company entails multi-dimensional changes, including the changes in the culture of the organization. A phenomenon called diffusion cultures is observed in the activities of international and crosscultural enterprises. The diffusion process which takes place in the organization when different cultures join, in consequence affects the efficiency of the entire system and its members, and thus influences the ability of the development and success of the entire organization.

Excellence can be understood as a state or a trait of various intensity (degrees of excellence). Taking the latter approach we can observe that organizational structures differ in terms of their degree of excellence. The representatives of the sequent movements of management popularized different models of organizational structure and used other sets of criteria to assess the excellence of organizational structure. The detailed explanation of the processes of variation becomes a further base to show the evolution of the concept of excellence. Adequate resources are the most important factors for survival, growth and development of the organization. Scholars increasingly focus on intangible resources. Among others, these include competencies of managers and employees. A large part of them are universal: important for achieving success at all times. However, it can be assumed that due to different characteristics of companies in various stages of their development, the importance of these competencies will change on the organizations’ development paths. This article attempts to identify the key competencies of managers and employees, which determine its competitiveness in specific stages of development. This issue is not new, but the literature on the subject matter is fragmented. As the background considerations, the most recognizable among both scholars and practitioners model of organizational growth and development, L.E. Greiner’s model, was chosen.

This paper describes and makes attempts to explain the role and importance of renewal processes in the implementation of organizational learning mechanisms, with special emphasis on a process approach and standards of writing in the form of tools in the area of business process modeling notation (BPMN). This indicates that the regeneration processes of enterprises form the basis of organizational changes to enable an evolutionary development towards the implementation of enterprise learning mechanisms. In order to describe such a complex issue, the reality is simplified, laminarysating discrete renewal processes and nonlinear processes of organizational learning.

Of course, the indicated changes correspond to the challenges identified in management practice and the solutions used in this respect. Informed vision is one of the basic elements, which in addition to the ability to depicting the kinds of activities to perform and creating space to take them, ensures the consistency of the entire system over time. In a fundamental way, it prevents the risk of collapse of the system allowing its necessary reconfiguration.

Contemporary systems of achievements measurement take into consideration positive cause and effect links among aims of an organization, enabling the forecasting of future financial results and supporting the realization of the strategy in the long term. However, cause and effect links among divergent, conflict aims are not emphasized enough. The article presents the proposal of adaptation of Failure Mode and Effect Analysis at the stage of creating achievements measurement system to buid it in this security system (i.e. Pareto optimum), which aim is to enable the suboptimalization being the result of inappropriately taken perfecting (optimising) actions.

Permanently changing environment and increasing customers demands are forcing companies to continuously develop and quest for excellence. It is a never-ending process that must be supported by appropriate organizational culture, which allows to learn organizations, ring the changes or use the full potential of employees. A necessary step that determines the actions taken is the diagnosis of organizational culture that allows to shape the culture, stimulate employees to achieve the organization’s objectives and limit barriers leading to business excellence. It is possible through a variety of methods and tools such as Harrison’s Organizational Culture Survey, the Organizational Culture Profile, Organizational Culture Index, Organizational Culture Assessment Instrument and the Organizational Culture Inventory.The purpose of this article is to present the methods of diagnosing organizational culture and to highlight the role and importance of this process in the pursuit of excellence.

However, lately the situation has changed and energy suppliers have to compete to gather the clients: individual as well as organizational. That means it is necessary to look closer into clients’ needs and opinions to be more competitive. The main aim of the paper is to present the situation in the sector and to present the results of the research conducted by the authors. The research concerns individual clients as well as companies. Gathered opinions let the authors formulate recommendations necessary to meet customers’ needs according to their opinions. Thus, energy suppliers are able to improve their competitive advantage.
