The evolution of criteria of assessment of organizational structure excellence

Summary/Abstract: Excellence can be understood as a state or a trait of various intensity (degrees of excellence). Taking the latter approach we can observe that organizational structures differ in terms of their degree of excellence. The representatives of the sequent movements of management popularized different models of organizational structure and used other sets of criteria to assess the excellence of organizational structure. The goal of the paper is to present the evolution of the concept of organizational structure as well as criteria used to assess organizational structure excellence.
