Summary/Abstract: Permanently changing environment and increasing customers demands are forcing companies to continuously develop and quest for excellence. It is a never-ending process that must be supported by appropriate organizational culture, which allows to learn organizations, ring the changes or use the full potential of employees. A necessary step that determines the actions taken is the diagnosis of organizational culture that allows to shape the culture, stimulate employees to achieve the organization’s objectives and limit barriers leading to business excellence. It is possible through a variety of methods and tools such as Harrison’s Organizational Culture Survey, the Organizational Culture Profile, Organizational Culture Index, Organizational Culture Assessment Instrument and the Organizational Culture Inventory.The purpose of this article is to present the methods of diagnosing organizational culture and to highlight the role and importance of this process in the pursuit of excellence.
