Summary/Abstract: In accordance to turbulent environment of organization, leaders have to improve their firms permanently. Because of that the authors decided to point out key features of leaders that make them effective in leading process of change. These features contain skills and knowledge, experiences and abilities. Leaders can develop their knowledge in learning process. Experiences can be gathered in practice. Leaders’ abilities can be developed in the socialization process. Thus effective leaders must develop themselves as managers and as human beings. This article presents the case study of Research Team “Integration” from University in Szczecin which run the programme of forming leaders and support them in developing their features.
