The perception of the works of art displayed in art galleries is very important for the development of children’s artistic talents. Field trips leave deep and lasting impressions in the memory of most of them and are remembered for a long time. This intensifies their watchfulness, boosts their thinking and imagination, improves their memory and develops their artistic imagination. The ability to perceive artwork is built gradually, carefully, patiently, with the help of adults. Children could stay indifferent to works of art for a long time, if a teacher or parent does not focus their attention on them. They are supposed to take children to museums and galleries, make them familiar with the variety of artwork by attending exhibitions in art galleries, get children feel love, lasting interest and need of contact with artwork.

The estrangement of young generation from nature and spending a lot of time with computers and television does not help them to understand the complexity of questions concerning environmental protection and make it incapable to take part in their solution.Passive verbal interaction in the classroom makes this situation worse. There are students who do not have motivation to study, show low academic results, turns them in early school leavers. All that motivated me to direct my attention to a change of teaching practice for improvement of ecological literacy and students’ responsibility, hoping that the use of interactive educational methods can change their global thinking. The observations and the reported results show that appropriate methods in “Biology and Health Education” in 7th grade are presentations, intellectual cards, case studies, role plays, brainstorming, group work. They are only a few of the methods, which can be successfully applied to the curriculum in 7th grade in “Biology and Health Education”. These methods increase the interest, the activity, the communication, the quality of the acquired knowledge and skills of students and give the opportunity to be applied in real life.

Author(s): Aneliya Andreeva / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 5/2017

The topic of ethnic and national identity, ethnic consciousness, intercultural dialogue, multiculturalism, and contemporary society have become particularly acute in recent years, especially with the intensification of the immigration processes of large groups of people. The problem we are looking for is the inability of the continuing qualification system to prepare adequately the pedagogical staff for the fulfillment of their main function due to the inadequacy of the elements and processes in the teacher‘s qualification system with the cultural and ethno-psycho-pedagogical aspects of educational interactions oriented towards the stage of Postmodernist society. In this context, the present study offers a conceptual framework and an experimental ethno-psychological empirical-theoretical model for teacher qualification in intercultural education environments.

Author(s): Ivaylo Staribratov,Lilia Babakova / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 5/2017

Issues related to the diagnosis and the formation of organizational culture are discussed in the management theory and practice, as organizational culture is seen as one of the determining competitive advantages of the organization. The management of educational institutions increasingly pays attention to the need to change the present culture, which has a positive effect on the staff and helps to improve the quality of the educational process and the popularity of the educational institution. In order to measure and establish the type of organizational culture in the school, standardized methodologies are needed and there are currently no data for their existence in Bulgaria. The essence of organizational culture in schools is very specific in comparison to the private sector, and this is an obstacle to the use of ready-made and standardized methodologies for companies, enterprises or other organizational structures. Therefore, the aim of the present study is to present the first steps in setting up a test to ensure the objective measurement and diagnosis of the type of organizational school culture.

The Effectiveness of a Single Test Approach in Identifying Potentially Gifted Young Children

Author(s): Adile Gülşah Saranli / Language(s): English Issue: 1/2017

The aim of this research is to understand the effectiveness of the Basic Aptitude Test in identifying very young potentially gifted children. Early intervention, including early identification, is crucial while helping potentially gifted children. Identification should ideally include multiple pedagogical methods such as; observation, parent and teacher interviews, conversations with the child and portfolio examples. However, because of the long identification process, these steps may sometimes be skipped, with all steps compacted in a single test in isolation. For example, within the last few years, there has been attempts in the Turkish education system to identify very young children with the help of only “The Basic Aptitude Test”, labeling 5 or 6 year old children as gifted or not gifted. In this research, we attempt to show that this is a more complicated and very fragile process and using only a single test can result in a substantial number of potentially gifted children being left unidentified. During this research, the Torrance Creativity Test, Tema-3 Early Math Test, Tifaldi Turkish Language Development Test and at last Basic Aptitude Test (5-7) were all applied to 42 preschool age children (age 6) in Ankara, the capital city of Turkey within a one year period. Informed consents were collected from parents, giving permission to work with the children. This research showed that relying on a single test alone can mislead educators and parents. Results revealed that 11 out of the 42 young children were left unidentified based on results from the Basic Aptitudes Test alone. These findings will provide a scientific basis to inform parents, teachers and governments about the crucial and difficult nature of trying to find the most able pupils, showing them which methods may be appropriate for the identification of potentially gifted in early ages.

The lack of effective connectivity between performance and wages of teachers is one of the reasons for their low motivation to achieve high quality in the educational process. The study suggests an idea how this inequality which has moral and material dimensions to be restricted. The legal basis for this idea is the Strategy for the development of the higher education, where it is critically discussed that:– there is lack of differentiation in wages in accordance with teachers and researchers’ contribution to the science and educational process;– hinders the career development of teachers at Bulgarian academic institutions. The paper proposed a model for quantifying the quality and volume of academic and research activity in order the wages of teachers to be properly determined. The implementation of such a model will be in interest of all. In such way preconditions for better ranking of higher schools in the national rating system will be achieved.

Az antipopulizmus mint a rendszerváltás szimbolikus eleme

Author(s): Ágnes Gagyi / Language(s): Hungarian Issue: 21/2014

The project of transition as „catching up” with the West implied the acceptance of a symbolic hierarchy according to which Eastern European societies are qualitatively inferior to Western ones. Locally, the acceptance of this frame of modernization ideology, which legitimizes global hierarchies by making reference to internal qualities of individual societies, is manifested in various mutations. Through showing Hungarian examples, the article traces such effects of symbolic subordination at the levels of macrostructural integration, local political struggles, and everyday struggles of symbolic identification.
