Autorskie programy kształtowania postaw twórczych oraz rozwijania zdolności i uzdolnień dzieci w wieku przedszkolnym i wczesnoszkolnym

Autorskie programy kształtowania postaw twórczych oraz rozwijania zdolności i uzdolnień dzieci w wieku przedszkolnym i wczesnoszkolnym

Author(s): Danuta Skulicz / Language(s): Polish Issue: 2/2023

Deliberate educational activities are indispensable in shaping people’s creative attitudes, in developing their abilities, talents and interests, from pre-school and early school age onwards. A constructive approach to educational tasks built on positive psychology is developed by educators representing the development pedagogy / positive pedagogy strand. Improving the teacher’s ability to teach using active teaching/learning methods is the basis for an effective workshop. One of the important ways of improving it is designing authoring programmes. This activity is creative in nature and such attitudes should be shaped in teachers in the course of improving their methodological workshop. With regard to both students and teachers, it can be said that it is education that builds the person. The aim of this article is to present and discuss the author’s programmes of developing pupils’ abilities and shaping their talents, included in subject publications and selected programmes presented at educational forums for teachers and parents. It is worth emphasising that it is not common practice for teachers to improve their teaching skills through their own original creations, especially in the construction of educational programmes. It is therefore important to create awareness among teachers that it is possible to undertake such (creative) activities, both for their own development, but above all for the development of pupils. Authorial programmes for the development of children’s abilities and the shaping of talents are the best example here.

ULOGA UMETNOSTI U VASPITANJU DECE PREDŠKOLSKOG UZRASTA

Author(s): Bojana Nikolić,Emilija Popović,Jelena Veljković Mekić,Dragana Dragutinović / Language(s): Serbian Issue: 5/2023

The purpose of this paper is to highlight the importance of the presence of art and artwork in the educational practice of preschool children. The paper highlights and explains the importance of learning through art at an early age, taking into account the recent history of pedagogical thought on the subject (Movement for education through art, teaching of Reggio Emija), as well as contemporary research and trends in the field of education. As an example of good practice, the paper presents an experimental educational program of art workshops for the youngest. The workshops were conducted by experts in the fields of fine and musical arts, and literature. Carefully selected contents from the history of art (architecture, music, fine arts, literature) were presented to the children in a methodologically adequate way. The workshops were accompanied by musical works from all eras with which the children were introduced, performed on instruments typical of that time. By monitoring the children's reactions and analyzing their creative responses (drawings, objects, paintings, works of applied art), it was concluded that the children gave adequate responses to the offered content, that they managed to build a certain aesthetic attitude towards the displayed content and give their creative response. In addition to the presence of artists in the kindergarten, we emphasize the necessity of permanent education of educators in the field of art, cooperation of kindergartens with institutions that deal with the education of educators, as well as cooperation with cultural institutions at the local and national level (galleries, museums, libraries, concerts).

Okul Öncesi Eğitimde Teknoloji Kullanımında Rol Model Olarak Dijital Ebeveynlik

Okul Öncesi Eğitimde Teknoloji Kullanımında Rol Model Olarak Dijital Ebeveynlik

Author(s): Şafak Akkoyunlu,Evrim Pınar / Language(s): Turkish Issue: 21/2024

Preschool education is an educational process that is given with the arrival of children into the world, first with the support of the family and then with the support of the school. In this educational process, which addresses the cognitive, linguistic, social-emotional, psychomotor and self-care skills of the child, it is necessary to use the innovations brought by the age by adapting them to current life. It is seen that technology, which has an important role in current life, has become an indispensable element for today's child, who is considered a digital native, and his orientation towards the use of technology. Technological devices that exist in all areas of life have inevitably become an indispensable element in the life of children in the preschool period. Technology offers various possibilities for many areas of interest of the child. Technology, which offers numerous opportunities for playing, having fun, exploring and learning activities, can make a positive contribution to children when used correctly. It can be useful in preparing children for school in the preschool period. However, the widespread use of technological tools facilitates access and sharing of information and provides positive contributions such as problem solving, analytical and creative thinking, having fun, peer communication, while also leading to an increase in situations that may pose a risk to children and negatively affect them. For this reason, the family should strive to be a good role model in the use of technology by the preschool child. Preschool children who are developing rapidly may sometimes not realize their wants and needs or may not be able to express themselves as they are. In this regard, the adults and the school in the immediate vicinity come into play, enabling the child to get to know himself and discover his abilities. In order for a child to achieve success, these behaviors need to be known, reinforced and supported by his teachers at school and by his parents at home.

EDUKACIJA ZA 21. STOLJEĆE: POVRATAK PRIRODI – ULOGA ODGOJITELJA

Author(s): Emili Šegon / Language(s): Croatian Issue: 4/2024

Values acquired in early childhood often shape an individual's life path, underscoring the importance of focusing on educational strategies that promote a child's connection with nature. Nature serves as a rich source of experiences that offer children opportunities for education and holistic development. Time spent in nature fosters physical activity, creativity, cognitive development, emotional regulation, and relationship building. This article explores theoretical foundations related to the child and the environment, examining the child from a researcher's perspective and analyzing the impact of nature on a child's development and well-being. With a specific emphasis on 21st-century education, the research aims to determine, based on a sample of preschool educators, the role and influence in establishing a child's connection with nature and promoting healthy lifestyle habits. The study involved 150 preschool educators from the Republic of Croatia. The results indicate a high awareness among educators regarding their crucial role in fostering a child's connection with nature, with 70.7 % (N=106) recognizing this responsibility. Concurrently, a continued interest in outdoor activities was noted by 76.6 % (N=115) of educators. Despite recognized benefits, key limiting factors for nature-related activities include the large number of children in groups and the structure of educators' working hours. In the context of modern education, the research emphasizes the need to adapt the structure of work and educational approaches to optimally leverage the benefits of the natural environment in fostering holistic child development. The integration of nature-based activities should become an integral part of the educational process, contributing to shaping future generations as aware and responsible citizens. Managing the number of children in groups and providing flexibility in educators' working hours are crucial elements for adjusting the educational system to reflect the needs of children in the 21st century.

VERBAL COMMUNICATION VS NONVERBAL COMMUNICATION AT PRESCHOOL AGE FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF PSYCHOEDUCATIONAL COUNSELING

Author(s): Elena Oliviana Epurescu / Language(s): Romanian Issue: 38/2024

A very important aspect of effective communication at early ages is a good counselor-client relationship, in this case, the psychopedagogical counselor and the client-preschool child. In this sense, we propose the following as objectives of effective communication at young ages: understanding the complexity of the problem of verbal communication and nonverbal; analyzing the components of the communication process in an environment of early education; capturing the behaviors and habits of different behaviors relevant for communication at young ages; identification of communication barriers within communication verbal and non-verbal. To these are added the communication methods that the psycho-pedagogical counselor uses, namely, verbal communication and non-verbal communication. The current paper proposes to indicate how the 2 types of communication work in psycho-pedagogical counseling in early education.

The analysis of the presented results on mental development tells us about the very different development from one child to another, in terms of general, fine, mimic, articulatory motor functioning, cognitive processes and socio-emotional development. The results on language and communication development in the children examined show us uneven results. The highest were obtained in the auditory rhythm and the lowest in the motor part of language. A formative program was developed in three stages with specific content and individualized approach for each child.

Praktyki wykluczania rówieśniczego w grupie pięcioletnich dziewczynek – analiza dyfrakcyjna

Author(s): Zuzanna Zbróg / Language(s): Polish Issue: 10/2024

Peer exclusion in pre-school groups, although a common phenomenon, is rarely studied, especially in Polish pedagogy – as it more often affects school children. In this article, I propose a new experimental method for analysing observed practices of peer exclusion: diffraction analysis. Fragments of peer conversations in a group of five-year-olds girls form the basis of expanding the research perspective by an attempt to think in terms of the categories of intra-action and diffraction, which constitute a complex, spatial system of interdependent relationships. A characteristic feature of the argument in question is the problematisation of the successive elements of the events under analysis, which in fact leads to a liberation from the habitual way of thinking about peer exclusion (the blame of the aggressor) and the emergence of a more “ethical” way of interpreting the events – which becomes the main objective of the presented research.

Dzieciństwo w okowach ideologii: kreacja dziecięcego świata na łamach czasopisma „Płomyczek” w latach 1948–1956

Dzieciństwo w okowach ideologii: kreacja dziecięcego świata na łamach czasopisma „Płomyczek” w latach 1948–1956

Author(s): Joanna Król / Language(s): Polish Issue: 10/2024

The article presents a reconstruction and interpretation of the process of creating a children’s world and its main elements in the magazine Płomyczek in the years 1948–1956. The content analysis of the magazine shows that almost every aspect of the created children's world referring to the natural and cultural space, despite its undeniable educational value, also contained a strong propaganda charge. Content that genuinely developed the cognitive, socio-moral and emotional side of the reader was saturated with an ideological layer that reflected the political direction of the time. By being inscribed in a specific historical period, it was therefore a magazine that exhausted the model of the communist press, which, through its aims, functions and content, acted as a transmission belt for the ideological message. The propagandistic nature of the content of Płomyczek, in turn, gave rise to the question as to what extent the effect of the aforementioned process referred to the children’s world of meanings and to what extent it was a response to the immediate socio-political needs.

Assessing the links among maternal nonstandard work schedules, early learning environments and young children’s academic achievement

Assessing the links among maternal nonstandard work schedules, early learning environments and young children’s academic achievement

Author(s): Nina Smith,Danielle Crosby,Catherine Scott Little,Chris Payne,Jonathan Livingston / Language(s): English Issue: 2/2017

An emerging body of research on the effects of maternal nonstandard work suggests that young children’s cognitive development may be negatively impacted. Additionally, evidence suggests that there may be varying patterns of child care utilization among mothers who work nonstandard schedules compared to those working standard schedules. Yet, to date, very little research has specifically examined the extent to which early learning environments help explain any associations between nonstandard work and child outcomes. To address this gap, the current study seeks to examine the relationship between maternal nonstandard work schedules and a salient aspect of the broader domain of academic readiness – preschool-aged children’s early academic skills, as well as the potential mediating role of early learning environments (as experienced by children in child care and at home). Using nationally representative data from the Early Childhood Longitudinal Study - Birth Cohort (ECLS-B), a series of structural equation models were utilized to investigate the study aims. Results showed that early care and education learning environments and home learning environments partially mediated the relationship between maternal nonstandard work schedules and children’s early academic skills. That is, children of mothers working nonstandard hours scored lower on assessments of academic skills than children of mothers working standard hours, and this appears to be partially explained by their reduced access to child care and home environments that emphasize early learning. The results from this study indicate the importance of measuring contextual influences in order to fully understand how maternal nonstandard work schedules are linked to children’s early academic skills.

National Project "Gymnastics game", a Playful-physical-emotional Pathway in Kindergarten and Primary School

Author(s): Miriam SCARPINO,Cristiana D’ANNA,Serafina FONTANA,Emanuela PATERNO,Valter PERONI,Rosario PITTON,Emiliana POLINI,Gherardo TECCHI / Language(s): English Issue: 1/2024

International bodies recommend the daily practice of physical activity from developmental age, emphasizing the priority of enhancing levels of motor-sport activity (Who, 2015; 2020). In this sense, physical and sports education in the school setting represents an educational opportunity to increase awareness of the importance of Health Enhancing Physical Activity. The aim of this contribution is to present the national project "Gymnastics Game" promoted by the Ministry of Education, University and Research (MIUR) and The Italian Gymnastics Federation with the purposes of: facilitating a lifestyle-oriented healthy, cognitive and relational approach from kindergarten onward; preventing deviant behaviour; and developing both useful problem-solving skills facing with a creative approach and adaptable and transferable skills to everyday life. The pilot project, implemented in all regions of Italy's national territory, involved No. 40 schools, a total of 222 classes, 4500 pupils attending sections 3-4-5 years of kindergarten and the first and second classes of primary school (6-7 years old), with an additional 285 classes that only received the educational kit without being able to participate in the pilot project. The initiative involved the active participation of curricular and support teachers of the affected classes, 40 FGI specialists and families. The pathways guidelines have started a nationwide comparison aimed at developing research and educational-methodological innovation in physical and sport science, improving over the years, participation in motor and sports activities and opposing the early abandonment.

Educational Management from Homogeneity to Diversity in Teacher Training

Author(s): Vladimir ENACHESCU,Camelia Staiculescu / Language(s): English Issue: 3/2024

Teacher training and development are essential components of providing quality education to diverse and heterogeneous beneficiary populations. The study by Silvija Markic and Simone Abels delves into the impact of teacher training and development programs on teachers' views and attitudes towards diversity in the classroom. The results of their analysis indicate that such programs can significantly enhance teachers' ability to meet the needs of diverse students. Similarly, Krell, Riedmüller, Sieben, and Vinz's study also highlights the importance of teacher education and professional development in fostering an inclusive classroom environment that celebrates diversity. These studies highlight the importance of continuing education for teachers, especially in an increasingly diverse world. In addition to these studies, in our article we cited other results from the scientific environment so that we can highlight the fundamental elements and concern for the effective training of teaching staff in relation to contemporary challenges. In today's social, geopolitical, economic, and technological context, education is constantly changing. The mobility of population groups is extremely fluid and fast, and one of the consequences is oriented towards educational systems that are placed in a position to respond to challenges such as cultural, spiritual, and linguistic diversity and to build solutions that overcome traditional barriers. In our article, we explore these barriers and summarize potential solutions so that we can build a clear and coherent framework of a system that can meet contemporary expectations.
