Summary/Abstract: In the article are presented the results of a survey. The formation of linguistic competence among students from first to fourth grade affects on their whole development. The purpose of this research is to check with test the level formation of linguistic competence at third grade students. There are two original didactic tests. On the basis of the results obtained, it can be argued that they are reliable, valid for the entire population and measure exactly the level formation of linguistic competence among students at the initial stage of primary education.
