- Summary/Abstract:In the post-digital age, translation expertise is constantly evolving, influenced by the increasing use of artificial intelligence (AI). In this context, translation has a special responsibility, not only as a mediator between cultures, but also as a bridge between humans and technology. AI undoubtedly offers advantages, particularly in terms of the automation and efficiency of translation processes, allowing complex tasks to be completed more quickly and cost-effectively. At the same time, however, there are significant disadvantages, ranging from the potential dependence of translators on machines to the risk of flattening the content. In direct dialogue with systems such as ChatGPT and in indirect exchange with tradition, symbolized by Saint Jerome, the tension between technical precision and human sensitivity is highlighted. This article explores the role of translation in the post-digital age and discusses how AI as a tool is changing the responsibilities and future of translation studies.

- Summary/Abstract:Numerous websites and portals offer current daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly horoscopes that include predictions for various areas of life and point out potential challenges. The article does not aim to assess horoscopes, popular among a mass audience, as "commercial ventures," but rather to provide insight into the identifying factors of this polyfunctional text type and into selected strategies for reader engagement in an interlingual comparison of German and Romanian. This approach suggests credibility and enables identification with general predictions. The horoscope as a mass media text type implies a focus on a heterogeneous audience and a orientation towards the needs of the readership, which necessitates the inclusion of multiple-addressing and reader-oriented strategies as a genre-specific feature. Only internet horoscopes that contain predictions for the zodiac sign "Gemini" from the current year are considered.

- Keywords:linguicism; translanguaging; language education; multilingualism; monolingual habitus; language ideologies; linguistic inclusion
- Summary/Abstract:This paper explores the concepts of linguicism critique and translanguaging as theoretical and didactic approaches aimed at promoting linguistic equity in educational contexts. Linguicism is understood as a form of language-based discrimination that reproduces social hierarchies through the devaluation of certain languages or language practices. Translanguaging offers a pedagogical counter-approach by acknowledging and systematically fostering learners' dynamic use of their entire linguistic repertoire. The paper analyzes institutionalized language ideologies – particularly the monolingual habitus – and their impact on multilingual educational trajectories. Using exemplary didactic scenarios, it illustrates how translanguaging can be practically implemented in school and university settings. In addition, it addresses the role of children and adolescents as informal language brokers in migration contexts and critically reflects on the psychosocial burdens associated with this role. The article advocates for continuous language education that not only considers linguistic diversity but actively values it as a resource, and it calls for institutional responsibility in fostering inclusive language practices. Ultimately, the paper positions itself as a plea for a power-critical and multilingual-sensitive approach to education

- Keywords:scientific writing; technical terms; objectivity; clarity; factual expression
- Summary/Abstract:The teaching of gastronomic technical terminology in the context of German as a Foreign Language (DaF) presents a particular challenge, as specialized language is deeply embedded in both professional and cultural contexts. The importance of such terminology lies in its function to ensure effective professional communication in the field of gastronomy – both among professionals and in interactions with guests. In DaF textbooks, technical language should be contextualized, supported by multimedia resources, practiced through role-plays, and embedded in intercultural learning. A practical example of language-sensitive teaching is the use of bilingual worksheets to convey gastronomic terminology. These materials incorporate both the target language (German) and the learners' native languages to overcome linguistic barriers and enhance the understanding of key concepts. Scientific writing, which employs specialized terminology and strives for objectivity and clarity, is a precise, clear, and factual mode of expression. A characteristic feature of scientific language is the specific use of linguistic tools that enables the precise and accessible formulation of scientific findings. Scientific works can only be successful if the author masters and correctly uses the language of science as their most important tool. Instructors who act as academic advisors must be able to draw students' attention to the linguistic peculiarities of scientific writing. Through the correct formulation of their thoughts, students are able to clearly articulate the aims of their scientific work and successfully present their results

- Keywords:german as foreign language; german studies; translate; german; french
- Summary/Abstract:The use of French or the combination of German and French has been established from the outset in GFL (German as of foreign language) lessons and in German studies in francophone African countries such as Senegal. This constellation leads to learners sometimes thinking in their mother tongue in order to translate words into French and then into German or vice versa. Senegalese learners of German thus oscillate between their mother tongue, French and German. Since French, despite its status as an official language, remains a foreign language for many and is not adequately mastered, this can make learning German more difficult. A well-known fundamental difficulty lies in the fact that, with a few exceptions, German is taught on the basis of French. The learning and comprehension process in German, the target language, is therefore delayed. This article attempts to analyze which difficulties arise during the translation process, what causes them and how they affect the translation process

- Keywords:war; literature; armenian; ptsd; soldier; experience; documentation
- Summary/Abstract:This report presents the best works of modern Armenian war literature dedicated to the aftermath of the Second Nagorno-Karabakh War. The authors are soldiers who themselves participated in the war and sustained severe injuries. After recovering, they recorded their experiences and memories in writing. As a result, their works have become unique testimonies of war, which are of particular significance due to their specific cultural and media-related functions of memory – especially since the authors are not professional writers but soldiers. The focus of this article is on the revelation of post-traumatic stress syndrome. For the first time, an attempt is made in modern Armenian literature to identify the central manifestations of this syndrome, such as involuntary and distressing memories of the trauma, avoidance behavior, and hyperarousal. These symptoms reveal the true face of war as well as its immediate effects on the inner world of the individual, which often manifest in various life situations and sometimes lead to irreversible consequences for the soldiers themselves as well as for their families.

- Summary/Abstract:2024 will be celebrated as the year of Kafka on the world's literary stage. Although interest in the literature of past centuries has dramatically diminished, there has been a trend in recent years towards the visual and musical realization of classical modernism on social networks and in current music and literary genres. Generations Z perceives the internet and social networks as an essential part of their everyday lives, which is why the reception of literature is undergoing a profound change that is closely linked to media requirements. Kafka is becoming increasingly popular with teenagers and young adults on Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), TikTok and YouTube, especially as they increasingly must deal with a multitude of anxiety-related thoughts, existential questions and Kafkaesque everyday situations in the age of digitalization and acceleration. This article explores the new trends in approaching Kafka in GFL lessons and presents several suggestions on how his work can be brought to the younger generation via social networks, new text types and manga adaptations.

- Keywords:Chamisso; cultural relativism; stereotypes; orientalism; travel literature; intercultural competence
- Summary/Abstract:Reise um die Welt by Adelbert von Chamisso is a literary exploration of the experiences of a European traveler who moves through foreign cultures and societies. The work is, in fact, a profound reflection on the perception of the Other and one's own cultural norms. The question of whether Chamisso's work takes a cultural relativism approach or makes an assessment of the foreign is central to understanding the text. In an introduction to this topic, it can be said that Reise um die Welt is not just a travel narrative, but also a critical examination of one's own cultural prejudices. This literary work is thus an intriguing example of grappling with the question of how the foreign is perceived and interpreted. It invites reflection on the concepts of culture and identity and encourages thinking about how cultural differences are treated in literature and society.

- Summary/Abstract:This paper aims to analyze the story Der Ausflug der Toten Mädchen by Anna Seghers, focusing on real and fantastic space. The aim of this essay is to offer a new literary perspective on the narrative, in which space becomes a central element and where the fantastic serve as a tool for this analysis. This interpretation is based on the fact that the text exhibits numerous characteristics of this literary genre, including: the intrusion of the fantastic into real life, the indecisiveness of both the protagonist and the reader in the face of events, the dissolution of the boundaries of time and space, and the ambiguity of the ending.

- Keywords:text representation; coherence; naming conventions; storyline; free direct/indirect discourse; narrative perspective; discontinuity
- Summary/Abstract:The present study explores the perception of coherence in the short story “Clap Hands, Here Comes Charlie” by B. Bainbridge, approaching coherence as a pragmatically determined quality of text production and reception. The investigation of the subjective reception of coherence focused on the structural elements that preclude the linear development of the narrative and the discoursal features that cause overlapping or abrupt transitions in narrative perspective. These aspects demand a higher degree of cooperative reader participation in text comprehension. The results of a survey administered to 10 second-year students within the course of Text Linguistics were analysed to obtain quantitative data for comparing patterns in reader experiences and perceptions of the linearity and unity of the story content. Additionally, the study aimed to determine the reader’s degree of interpretative cooperation in completing the blanks and solving the indeterminacies. The questions covered three broad areas of structural and discoursal elements essential to building a coherent representation of the story content: 1) the narrative structure, with particular attention to the general perception of exposition, retrospective narration, foreshadowing, and the interplay between the main and subsidiary storylines; 2) the way naming conventions and referencing elements are used in the story; and 3) the shifts in narrative perspective marked by the transition from the diegetic to mimetic forms of discourse.

- Keywords:Agile communication; Speech act theory; Illocutionary acts; Direct and indirect speech; Agile meetings; Linguistic analysis; Team collaboration;
- Summary/Abstract:Efficient communication in Agile teams is based on structured interactions, which can be analyzed through Speech Act Theory. This paper explores how Searle’s illocutionary acts—assertives, directives, commissives, expressives, and declarations—shape Agile activities such as stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and reviews. Understanding the function of speech acts within Agile enhances clarity, engagement, and collaboration. Moreover, alternative classifications, including Austin’s locutionary, illocutionary, and perlocutionary acts, as well as the theories of Bach & Harnish and Brown & Levinson, provide additional perspectives on team dynamics, politeness strategies, and indirect communication. Direct speech acts predominate in Agile communication due to their transparency and efficiency, but indirect ones are useful for diplomacy and cultural adaptability. This linguistic approach helps Agile teams optimize their communication strategies, improving collaboration and the process of continuous learning.

Both systems come from the same English common law roots, but their legal terms have changed over time to fit their unique needs. The article compares areas like contract law, tort law, property law, and criminal law, with examples such as "consideration," "duty of care," and "freehold." It also talks about how hard it can be to translate legal terms between the two systems, especially for tricky concepts like trusts and criminal pleas. Using ideas from experts like Hart and Gadamer, the article explains why understanding the meaning behind legal terms is so important. Finally, it highlights how technology and teamwork can help make legal terms more consistent around the world, showing how these systems can connect while keeping their own unique features.

- Summary/Abstract:This article analyzes the dynamics of the Romanian lexicon, as well as that ofother Romance languages, with a focus on the rapid development of specialized vocabulary drivenby the advancement of contemporary science and the diversification of knowledge domains. It highlights the interdependent relationship between the general and specialized lexicon, as specialized language is built upon the common language and adheres to the norms of the standard language. The article emphasizes the inclusion relationship and the bidirectional influences between the two types of vocabulary, where processes such as terminologization and determinologization contribute to the ongoing intellectualization of general language. Furthermore, it distinguishes between specialized languages and terminologies, presenting international efforts for the standardization and harmonization of terminology within European and global projects (Realiter, Termcat, DGLFLF, etc.). The differences between lexicology and terminology are explained in terms of their object of study: the word versus the concept.

- Summary/Abstract:This article is part of a series focusing on the Creative Writing Workshop within the Romanian Language Stylistics course, emphasizing certain didactic "engineering" aspects. Inspired by Jean-Benoît Puech's "Inventer des écrivains" workshop, it delves into the biographies of writers – real or imaginary – and their sociocultural contexts, constructing the writer's persona as a literary and symbolic entity. Our approach centers on Part I of the "Let's Invent Writers!" creative writing workshop, featuring the writer Matei Vişniec under the subtitle "Let's Invent Matei Vişniec." This segment encompasses three of the five main activities: Activity 1: What is "biofiction"?; Activity 2: Getting to Know Matei Vişniec Bette; Activity 3: Who Were the Famous Romanians Influencing Matei Vişniec During His Parisian Exile?—Introducing the Intellectual Couple Monica Lovinescu and Virgil Ierunca. Integrating the creative writing workshop into the Romanian Language Stylistics course represents an attempt to diversify teaching methods, moving beyond mere stylistic analysis. It offers students the opportunity to integrate and apply their knowledge in an original and creative manner, enhancing creativity, originality, and a deeper understanding of language and literature. Simultaneously, it serves as a creativity incubator by promoting literary experimentation.

Phraseology is an intermediate linguistic field that studies stable units of words, called phraseologisms. These are characterized by a high cohesion between the component elements and a unitary meaning. Somatic phraseologisms, involving parts of the human body, are examples of expressions that reflect the cultural and linguistic evolutions of a community. They have evolved from concrete meanings, related to the physical functions of the body, to more abstract and metaphorical meanings. Linguistic creativity plays an important role in the development of somatic phraseologisms, through innovations and adaptations. Factors that influence this evolution include cultural changes, language games and contact with other cultures. Examples of somatic phraseologisms are “to set one’s sights on something” (to acquire something), “to kick away” (to reject something), and “to keep one’s mind on something” (to be focused). These expressions reflect not only changes in meaning, but also the adaptation of language to new social and cultural realities.

- Summary/Abstract:Phraseological expressions in Russian and French reflect the cultural values, history, religion, and national characteristics of their respective ethnic groups. Russian phraseology is rich in lacunar components related to folklore, agriculture, and nature. It frequently includes names of folkloric, Biblical, and historical figures, as well as references to animals, plants, and household items. This highlights the importance of traditions and the agrarian lifestyle in Russian cultural society. French phraseology, on the other hand, often incorporates components linked to the financial and economic sphere, gastronomy, human physiology, and entertainment. It employs terms from everyday life that reflect the developed culture of a secular society. Commonly used imagery includes references to Catholic saints, historical figures, and place names. Toponyms in both languages express patriotism and attachment to one’s homeland. However, the differences in the types of lacunae presented emphasize the uniqueness of national values. For example, French phraseology more prominently features urban life themes, whereas Russian phraseology focuses on rural life and superstitions. Thus, the phraseology of both languages serves as a valuable source for studying the cultural and historical characteristics of their respective peoples.

- Summary/Abstract:For students and teachers, educational software is a way to satisfy recent needs related to the development of human potential, the consolidation of new types of information processing and new ways of carrying out specific therapy. These, in addition to facilitating a wide range of educational activities, help children with disabilities to take an active role in the learning process and reach their full potential for development. The teacher's intervention cannot be replaced by the computer, but the teacher with the help of dedicated educational software can improve the basic school skills of children with learning difficulties. The therapeutic processes carried out in the school by the three actors involved (therapist, child, family) benefit in this case from the contribution of a valuable tool represented by the computer, which contributes to the success of the therapeutic approach. Under the careful supervision of the adult, the computer can become a very useful tool in the therapeutic and educational act of the child with special educational requirements, regardless of his deficiencies (sensory, motor, learning difficulties).

- Summary/Abstract:Since Greek antiquity there have been concerns about the relationship between language and thought, between language and extralinguistic reality. We aim in our research, following a theoretical preamble concerning motivation in language, to analyze one of the aspects of the “individual speech” of integral linguistics (E. Coșeriu), with reference to the literary work of Ion Creangă, namely, the expressive value of onomatopoeic verbs and nouns, relatively motivated in context. Considering the structure, the role of the phonetic level, its relation to the communicative situation. The general conclusion is that onomatopoeic motivation - one of many individual aspects - the interdependent relationship between expressive competence at all levels of language (phonetic, lexical-semantic, discursive), meaning and contextualization of language contribute to the achievement of expressivity in the narrative text.
