Summary/Abstract: In the post-digital age, translation expertise is constantly evolving, influenced by the increasing use of artificial intelligence (AI). In this context, translation has a special responsibility, not only as a mediator between cultures, but also as a bridge between humans and technology. AI undoubtedly offers advantages, particularly in terms of the automation and efficiency of translation processes, allowing complex tasks to be completed more quickly and cost-effectively. At the same time, however, there are significant disadvantages, ranging from the potential dependence of translators on machines to the risk of flattening the content. In direct dialogue with systems such as ChatGPT and in indirect exchange with tradition, symbolized by Saint Jerome, the tension between technical precision and human sensitivity is highlighted. This article explores the role of translation in the post-digital age and discusses how AI as a tool is changing the responsibilities and future of translation studies.
