Cristian Clipa, Fundamentele ideologice ale dreptului administrativ. Vol. II, Tomul 2. Specificitățile, ediția a II-a, consolidată

Author(s): Verginia Vedinas / Language(s): Romanian Issue: 03/2024

Book review. In the spring of this year, the volume titled 'The Ideological Foundations of Administrative Law. Specificities,' authored by Mr. Cristian CLIPA, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Law of the West University of Timișoara, was published by Hamangiu Publishing House. This is the second, consolidated edition, after the first edition of the same volume was published by the same publishing house in 2021. The new edition expands the book's text from nearly 400 pages to over 1,000 pages and constitutes an attempt to analyze the main institutions of administrative law, starting from a theoretical model proposed by the author, based on six categories or ideological foundations of this branch of law/university legal discipline: public power, public authority, public administration, public service, public interest, and public order.

Collective memory has been addressed for our culture mainly in the rural and global environment, through the study of manifestations of what we have called group intermemory (see in this regard the volumes Collective Memories and Magic Words, which we have recently published). In the following, I will focus on the collective memory of cultural magazines, whose description is somewhat more complicated.

Ioan Dănilă, Limba română. Algoritmii analizei gramaticale, Bacău, Editura Egal, 2003

Author(s): Rodica Miron / Language(s): Romanian Issue: 51/2024

In the "Studium" series of "Egal" Publishing House, the work of a well-known researcher, constantly concerned with the science of language, has appeared: Ioan Dănilă, lecturer at the University of Bacău. The Romanian Language. The Algorithms of Grammatical Analysis is already circulating in schools and universities, enjoying the appreciation of teachers, pupils, and students. Massive (316 pages), the work appears to us as the latest pragmatic approach, of great intellectual stature, to the contemporary Romanian language. The observation from the preface signed by Prof. Dr. Dumitru Ivănuș: "Practically, the book is a grammatical vademecum, written with intelligence and responsibility" is confirmed in every chapter.

Among the numerous editorial appearances, the book of our distinguished colleague, Professor Ioan Dănilă, Phonetics and Phonology (course notes; applications), published by Egal Publishing House (Bacău, 2001; new edition, 2003), represents a true event not only for its usefulness but especially for its accuracy, coherence, and clarity of content organization. Conceived as a valuable methodological tool and for the training of teaching staff in order to support the exams for tenure in education and to obtain the second teaching degree, the book even surpasses this sphere of interests, being valuable for every speaker interested in the complex mechanism of communication.

This religious community of Moldovan Catholics presents interesting linguistic particularities, noted by some researchers such as Nicolae Iorga, Radu Rosetti, Gustav Weigand, Dumitru Mărtinaș, Márton Gyula, Bakó Géza, Ștefan Meteș, Szabó T. Attila, Francisc Mattas, Mikecs László, and others. The attention of some of them was primarily drawn to the sibilant pronunciation observed in the Ceangăi. Ioan Dănilă reviews their opinions and finds that "Hungarian and Romanian specialists have shown inconsistencies in addressing one aspect or another, which has led to a slowdown in the process of understanding the specific dialect of the Ceangăi.

Ioan Dănilă, Casa din cuvinte... (pro Alecsandri), Bacău, Editura Vicovia, 2018

Author(s): Laura-Irina Gavriliu / Language(s): Romanian Issue: 51/2024

The House of Words... (Bacău, 2018; the book commemorates the bicentennial of the writer's birth) reconstructs diachronically the story of this topos through a polyphonic discourse, which gives the text multiple meanings. Thus, we can talk about a memory book, an argument book, but also a puzzle book, with the ultimate goal of "saving at the last moment the 'Vasile Alecsandri' House in Bacău" (p. 5). Through this publication, Ioan Dănilă completes a trilogy – after Alecsandri, the Bacău native (Bacău, Alma Mater Publishing House, 2011) and Alecsandri, back home (Bacău, Ateneul Scriitorilor Publishing House, 2017) – a sign of the steadfastness of the passionate defender of national heritage values. The author assumes the role of a modern rhapsodist, an efficient transmitter of collective memory. This gesture may have reflexes subordinated to fundamental needs: the need for identity, belonging, security, continuity, and the power of example, which should generate enthusiasm and respect.

In cultural life, traditional folklore meets consumer folklore and they influence each other. Within specific local events, some categories with an authentic popular language are revitalized against the backdrop of social and mental changes in the life of a community. The observation of such an evolution of forms of manifestation, especially related to the cyclical celebration of the New Year, also appears in the work "Decemianuarie. A Panorama of Winter Traditions – Bacău County" (Bacău, Egal Publishing House, 2019; "Universum Bacoviensis" series; coordinator, Ioan Dănilă), subjected to our analytical approach. The facts of traditional and modern folklore are collected from Bacău County, especially from the areas of Asău, Sănduleni, Bârsănești, Valea Zeletinului, Moinești, Comănești.

I must admit that the position I find myself in is truly an honorable one, bringing with it the joy of returning to the amphitheater of "Vasile Alecsandri" University of Bacău after many years; obviously, now in a different role. I am a product of this university, which created me and sent me into the world with a mission from which I hope I have not deviated too much. In any case, the feeling is that I have not completely estranged myself and that I still carry something of the spirit of those years, of the spirit of the academic environment of Bacău.

Cătălina Bălinișteanu-Furdu, Plant and animal metaphors as signs of proto-ecofeminism, Hartung-Gorre Verlag, Konstanz/Germany, 2024

Author(s): Mariana Tîrnăuceanu / Language(s): English Issue: 51/2024

Cătălina Bălinișteanu-Furdu’s study aims to analyze ecofeminism in literature - an interesting topic approached in an original manner and from various perspectives meant to show how the perception of the human-natural environment interaction has changed over time. Although at first the book appears to be a survey on women’s animalities in the world literature, it is more an attempt at identifying ecocriticism in literary works through the lens of feminist studies. Besides studying the relation between environment and literature, the author is also interested in highlighting the close connection to nature of those who are marginalized, abused, or ostracized – shortly said, of the Other.
