Summary/Abstract: In cultural life, traditional folklore meets consumer folklore and they influence each other. Within specific local events, some categories with an authentic popular language are revitalized against the backdrop of social and mental changes in the life of a community. The observation of such an evolution of forms of manifestation, especially related to the cyclical celebration of the New Year, also appears in the work "Decemianuarie. A Panorama of Winter Traditions – Bacău County" (Bacău, Egal Publishing House, 2019; "Universum Bacoviensis" series; coordinator, Ioan Dănilă), subjected to our analytical approach. The facts of traditional and modern folklore are collected from Bacău County, especially from the areas of Asău, Sănduleni, Bârsănești, Valea Zeletinului, Moinești, Comănești.
