ROLES OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IN THE EARLY CHURCH
The apostolic period was probably the most fruitful period in the entire history of the Christian Church. The numerical growth and geographical expansion of the Church, relative to the small number of disciples, the difficult conditions and significant obstacles to the preaching of the gospel, amply prove this fact. Over time, many Christian theologians and historians have wondered what was the secret of such spectacular growth. Thus, various hypotheses and arguments were formulated that highlight the significant role of the apostles Paul and Peter, the extraordinary missionary strategy of the Church, the courage of the apostles and their dedication to the command of Jesus to preach the gospel. Beyond all these significant elements, few scholars associate the Holy Spirit with extraordinary results of Early Church. Thus, in this paper we aim to highlight the major role that the Holy Spirit plays in the life of the Church, as presented in The Acts of the Apostles.
