Summary/Abstract: Perhaps there are no purer and more serene joys than the joys that children bring to their parents when they are healthy in mind, soul and body, that is, completely healthy. It is equally true that the greatest anxieties, the most excruciating anxieties, and the most burning pains are caused to parents also by their children, when they are on the bed of suffering or in danger. What does a parent not do to help his child? How long does he run for him? He looks for the best doctors, the most suitable medicines, gives all his agony, bends his knees and invokes the help of God, as the only and strongest hope of saving and saving his child. The Gospel read today at the Holy Liturgy shows us such pain of a parent for his child.
