UTICAJ MEDIJA NA PONAŠANJE DECE I ADOSCELENATA

Author(s): Nikola Grulovic / Language(s): Bosnian Issue: 1/2024

This paper explores the impact of popular culture and media on social norms and values, particularly among children and adolescents. It focuses on various aspects of how both traditional and contemporary media influence the formation of identity and behavior in youth. Special attention is given to the phenomenon of "moral panic," which arises as a reaction to the perception of media as a threat to social norms. The negative aspects of media commercialization, including manipulation and exploitation of children’s innocence for marketing purposes, are also analyzed. The role of parents and educational systems in navigating and mediating media use among children is critically assessed. The research also covers changes in parenting that accompany the digital era, where traditional values and methods often give way to new technological means and approaches. It considers how constant exposure to media can affect the psychological and social development of children, leading to issues such as emotional desensitization and antisocial behavior. The paper reflects on the potential positive aspects of media, emphasizing the importance of educational content and information that can be beneficial for education and socialization of youth. The paper concludes that there is a need to intensify research and policies aimed at creating a safer and more constructive media environment for children. It recommends developing strategies to support parents and educational institutions in their efforts to adequately respond to the challenges posed by the media environment. Crucially, fostering critical thinking and media literacy among the youngest, as well as establishing a balance between digital and real-life interactions in children’s lives, are essential.

Digital marketing channels include a large number of channels, of which the website, social networks, blogs, paid advertising on search engines and mobile marketing are particularly important. Social networks as a digital marketing channel are particularly suitable for influencing consumers. In addition to organic advertising and paid advertising, the engagement of influencers who market informative and interesting content for a specific target group is becoming more and more important. Instagram is a particularly important social network for influencers, due to the presence of a large number of users. The aim of this paper is to investigate the importance of influencer marketing on Instagram to the female population in the beauty industry, but also to identify the factors that influence the importance of influencer marketing in this industry. SOVIET PERIOD IN AZERBAIJAN AN OVERVIEW OF MEDIA AND COMMUNICATION ACTIVITIES

SOVIET PERIOD IN AZERBAIJAN AN OVERVIEW OF MEDIA AND COMMUNICATION ACTIVITIES

Author(s): Oğuz Han Öztay / Language(s): English Issue: 63/2024

In the Soviet regime, the press system was an institution that was an integral part of the Soviet society, but the information created by an institute helped to preserve the Soviet regime for a long time through manipulation and played a serious role in the formation of anti-democratic life in the country. It is almost impossible to describe media and communication activities in Azerbaijan during the Soviet era as anything other than propaganda. During this period, the state and party media were busy spreading the ideology of the communist party. The doctrine of the Communist press, which has a great historical development, is that “the newspaper is not only a means of collective propaganda, but also a collective organizer”. In this doctrine, in addition to the functions of informing and entertaining, the media has the task of spreading and supporting the interests of the ruling party. Press activities in Azerbaijan during this period were under strict censorship and control. News and articles approved by the party were used as propaganda tools to accelerate social transformation. Press activities were generally shaped by the imposition of Soviet ideology on the local population and emphasizing the superiority of the Soviet regime. Propaganda activities were implemented in all mass media such as newspapers, magazines, radio, television and cinema, reaching large masses through mass media and used as an effective weapon in spreading Soviet ideology.

New Digital Paradigm and Motherhood in Migratory Contexts

Author(s): Mónica Ortiz Cobo,Renzo Ismaél Jeri Levano,Jose Garcia Martin / Language(s): English Issue: 1/2024

Aim. The present study aims to explore the maternal role of migrants in pre-digital and digital contexts. For this purpose, the study analyses the relationships among migrant mothers in digital and pre-digital contexts and the impact of their mother-child relationship.Methods. Virtual ethnography has enabled the analysis of various heterogeneous moments and contexts, as well as a virtual exploration of the social networks of the twenty-four participants in this study. Meanwhile, multi-sited ethnography has allowed access to and the utilization of multiple interconnected spaces in migratory contexts.Results. The inclusion of digital technology, the use of social networks, and the polymedia environment enable migrant mothers to challenge geographical and temporal barriers and devise strategies that allow them to maintain their mother-child relationship through ubiquitous and real-time transnational communication. This distinguishes them from migrant mothers of the pre-digital era, whose maternal roles were threatened by physical distance and the limited availability, at that time, of communication tools.Conclusion. A new digital paradigm has enabled the construction of digital motherhood in migratory contexts, representing a significant evolution in parental dynamics affecting 21st-century mothers, often referred to as "digital natives". This technological shift has altered the traditional conception of motherhood and long-distance caregiving. Changes in family relationships redefine the migratory experience and motherhood, as well as influence processes of identity, belonging, and adaptation in virtual contexts.

Exploring Gender Marking in Political Discourse: A Linguistic Analysis of Election Speeches

Exploring Gender Marking in Political Discourse: A Linguistic Analysis of Election Speeches

Author(s): Revaz Tabatadze,Tamar Natroshvili,Sofio Rdjoyan / Language(s): English Issue: 20/2023

The prevailing hallmark within contemporary paradigms of humanitarian research is anthropocentrism, characterized principally by its invocation of Homo Loquens, or "speaking man." Within this context, the scrutiny of discourse, which embodies the pivotal facet of human existence expressed through language, assumes a paramount role. It is not fortuitous that discursive linguistics has presently become an integral component of anthropocentric linguistics, introducing innovative methodologies for acquiring, describing, and interpreting linguistic materials. The discursive dimension mandates an examination of linguistic phenomena in conjunction with cultural-historical, socio-situational, and communicative-pragmatic attributes. The effective deployment of communicative strategies necessitates the utilization of rhetorical devices such as metaphor, analogy, epithet, anaphora, and the like. The integrated utilization of diverse linguistic resources undoubtedly amplifies the potency of language, which constitutes the primary objective in constructing the requisite persona of a political figure.

ANTROPOLOŠKI „TEREN” NA SOCIJALNIM MREŽAMA: UTICAJ MODERNIH TEHNOLOGIJA NA ROMSKE GRUPE U CRNOJ GORI

Author(s): Vesna Delić / Language(s): Serbian Issue: 2-3/2023

Modern technologies, i.e. the availability of the Internet on various modern devices, have enabled the opening of “new” social portals and the interweaving of the virtual and real worlds. Social networks have branched out the possibility of connecting between diff erent subjects and diff erent communities, but also created an opportunity for anthropologists to research diff erent cultural phenomena in a diff erent way. With just one click, that is, by accepting the friendship of Roma men or Roma women on social networks, we gained insight into new practices. Personally, I have over seventy friends from the Roma population on my Facebook list, so practically, for many years, I could do “fi eld research from home”. Namely, considering the frequency of Facebook using, as well as the diverse content that Roma publish on a daily basis, which ranges from visual information about their everyday life, sharing videos and photos with religious themes, live broadcastsing of holiday celebrations, engagements and weddings, a whole field of possible anthropological research opened up. Regardless of the fact that this method always depends on the “traditional” way of research, it revealed new practices and mechanisms that are very useful in process of searching for answers to following questions: How much and how are Roma groups changing and in what way the modern technologies and especially young people had an impact on those processes? How powerful has the Internet become in reuniting and bringing together separated members of the Roma family? In the preservation of tradition, even language, through the broadcasting of ritual practices? In strengthening religious identity due to wider availability of religious content? More precisely, the answer to the question of how Roma “live” in the virtual world and how that world affects the entire community when they are offline?

Author(s): Altan Can,Mustafa Arslan / Language(s): Turkish Issue: 34/2024

Speech is widely used as a means of communication in social life. The speaking skill acquired in the pre-school period needs to be developed through education in order to be used as an effective communication tool. One of the aims of the Turkish course is to provide students with the ability to verbally express their thoughts and feelings in an accurate and effective manner, in accordance with the language rules. Determining the level of students' achievement of the speaking goals and achievements determined in the Turkish teaching program increases the quality of speaking education. The purpose of this study, which is a qualitative research, is 6-8. The aim of this study is to determine the level of achievement of primary school students in speaking skills according to teachers' opinions. The study group of the research consists of 20 Turkish teachers, 11 female and 9 male, working in Samsun center. Data was collected through interviews using qualitative data collection techniques. During the data collection process, attention was paid to ensure that the participants were volunteers. The data obtained using the semi-structured interview form was analyzed using the content analysis model. According to the findings obtained in the research, it is understood that the students are insufficient in achieving speaking achievements, that is, in applying the rules of speaking, using their voice and body language effectively, making prepared speeches, evaluating their own speech and expressing themselves verbally.

Polish in the October of 2020. Evolution of forms of expressing civic dissatisfaction and indignation

Author(s): Marta Du Vall / Language(s): English Issue: 1/2024

The topic of socio-political activity as a factor that proves the dynamic development of civil society and the political maturity of society is an issue that is always topical in research. When we add the issue of changing the forms of expression and rhetoric of protest in connection with the political involvement of subsequent generations, we see that it enriches and forever changes the narrative about the actions of those in power. This article focuses on events related to the announcement of the Constitutional Tribunal’s judgement of 22nd October, 2020, regarding the unconstitutionality of some provisions of the so-called “abortion compromise”. This led to a wave of protests by Polish society. Thanks to the involvement of young Poles, the radicalisation of language, but also the creativity of slogans, the protests became much more visible and media-related. They permanently changed and enriched the repertoire previously used by demonstrators.

Blockchain in digital administration as a strengthening element for the implementation of sustainable development goals

Author(s): Marta Majorek / Language(s): English Issue: 1/2024

In an era defined by growing sustainability challenges, public administration has a pivotal role in addressing these issues. The convergence of public administration, blockchain technology, and sustainable development initiatives and challenges is at the forefront of smart governance practices. This article explores the intricate interconnections between these domains, shedding light on the transformative potential of blockchain technology in enhancing the transparency, efficiency, and accountability of public administration while promoting, at the same time, main sustainability goals. Through an analysis of scholarly insights and some practical implementations, the article highlights the benefits, challenges and strategic considerations associated with this synergy. It underscores the need for collaborative, cross-sectoral efforts and comprehensive policy frameworks to leverage blockchain’s potential for fostering smart governance practices. The crucial questions that should be answered concern how the digitalisation of public information and use of advanced ICT have reshaped the public administration sphere, and how they influence the implementation of the idea of sustainable development. Ultimately, the article emphasises the pivotal role of blockchain – public administration interdependence in shaping a more resilient, accountable, and environmentally conscious model of public management, aligned with the global sustainable development agenda.

Refrakcija religije u mediju psihoanalize (crtice uz credo Ericha Fromma)

Refrakcija religije u mediju psihoanalize (crtice uz credo Ericha Fromma)

Author(s): Darko Kovačić / Language(s): Croatian Issue: 25/2024

When in philosophy, psychoanalytic theory or the Eastern wisdom tradition, one speaks of ‘self-realization’ (or ‘self-actualization’, Maslow 1982), the entity ‘ego’ (from where we usually derive ‘egoism’ and all its negative connotations) is considered as something that, if we want to progress in the „freedom from-freedom to“ dialectics (Fromm 1941), it is necessary to either, philosophicaly speaking, ‘overcome’ or, through the means of available ‘spiritual practices’, annihilate (in the sense of ‘nirvana’; sanskr.: ‘extinction’). In this way, due to the ambiguity of the term ‘ego’ and linguistic poverty caused synonymization with ‘self’, we inevitably end up in a mental contradiction and, as a result, we give up on praxis. In this paper (which is part of a wider research on philosophical anthropology of Erich Fromm), some of the possible exit directions from one of the ‘aporias of the psyche’, are sketched only.
