Daiktų interneto technologijos taikymo versle nauda ir rizika

Daiktų interneto technologijos taikymo versle nauda ir rizika

Author(s): Laima Zalieckaitė,Raimundas Žilinskas / Language(s): Lithuanian Issue: 72/2015

The technology of the Internet of Things is one of the newest and rapidly developing information and communication technology policies in the beginning of this century, however, its adaptation in business began to spread only in the second decade. The Internet of Things is not only the technology whose services are designed for businesses, but also a new business model. As evidenced by the global experience in implementing these technologies and the latest research, the scope of the Internet of Things services and applications in business over the past year is rising relentlessly and in the future will only increase. The majority of business firms recognize that the Internet of Things technology can somehow help organize activities to accelerate the technological and communicative processes of business, to increase its operational efficiency. While it is recognised that the use of the Internet of Things in the business environment expands, it becomes more open, but also more vulnerable. Using the Internet of Things, things interact with each other and also people interact with each other, using items on the Internet of Things as a mediator for indirect communication, and this, in turn, is a major security problem concern with hackers, fakes and other electronic threats. Therefore, the use and spread of the Internet of Things will inevitably increase the risk of information systems and at the same time the risk profile of the business. This article analyses the benefits of the Internet of Things applied in business, its risks and the measures to mitigate the risks.

Królewiecki egzemplarz De humani corporis fabrica Andreasa Vesaliusa (Bazylea 1555) w zbiorach Biblioteki Wyższego Seminarium Duchownego Metropolii Warmińskiej „Hosianum” w Olsztynie

Author(s): Krzysztof Nierzwicki / Language(s): Polish Issue: 1/2021

The author made an attempt to analyse the origin of the book De humani corporis fabrica by Andreas Vesalius (Basel 1555) from the Library of the Theological Seminary of the Warmia Metropolis “Hosianum” in Olsztyn. In the course of research it was found that the volume belonged to Johann Zell (dates of life unknown) from Cologne and his son Heinrich Zell (1518-1564). Heinrich Zell was a librarian at the Prince Albrecht’s Castle Library in Königsberg. The book was then transferred to the Castle Library. In 1827, the book was placed in Königlicheund Universitätsbibliothek in Królewiec. This library changed its name in 1918 to Staats- und Universitätsbibliothek Königsberg. After World War II, the book was placed in the Library of the Seminary in Olsztyn. The copy is in good condition. It was bound in the bookbinding workshop of Kasper Angler in Królewiec around 1560.

To Publish, Make Known and Sell or Promoting Printed Books in the Incunabula Period

To Publish, Make Known and Sell or Promoting Printed Books in the Incunabula Period

Author(s): Lucia Lichnerová / Language(s): English Issue: 3/2021

The study To Publish, Make Known and Sell is based on the verified existence of competition tensions between the 15th-century typographers/publishers, related to the absence of functional regulatory tools of book production of the incunabula period. The increase in the number of book-printers within the relatively narrow geographical area, disregard of publishers’ privileges, the emergence of pirated reprints, as well as insufficient self-promotion on the book market through introducing novelties had concentrated typographers’ attention on devising new tools of securing their triumph in publisher’s competition – the so-called book advertisements. The author has analysed 44 promotional posters of the incunabula period from several points of view and attempted to identify their design elements, which on the one hand showed signs of certain standardization, while on the other hand, they were subject to the personal creativity of their creator. She gives a detailed overview of the circumstances of the origin, typographic design, and contents of book advertisements of several kinds within the context of promoting either the existing or planned editions, of one edition or a group of books; specifically focusing on the unique types of advertising. In conclusion, the author cites the circumstances of the extinction of book advertisements related to the rise of the new promotional tool – booksellers’ catalogue and submits a bibliography of the book advertisements dating from the 15th century.

Social Influences on the Typographic Medium in the Reformation and Counter-Reformation Period in Bratislava, the Capital of Hungary

Social Influences on the Typographic Medium in the Reformation and Counter-Reformation Period in Bratislava, the Capital of Hungary

Author(s): Marta Špániová / Language(s): English Issue: 3/2021

Over the centuries, the typographic medium and book printing responded to the political, economic, cultural, and social conditions very sensitively. The author deals with social influences on the development of book printing in Bratislava from the fifteenth century when the first printer is documented in the town. She ponders the reasons for the long absence of typographic activities in Bratislava from the late fifteenth century to the early seventeenth century. Paradoxically, the Reformation gave an impetus to the further development of book printing in Bratislava, as a Catholic printing house was established there in direct response to Reformation printing in Hungary. Therefore, the author also examines the conditions of Reformation printing to which the beginnings of publishing activities are tied in the territory of Slovakia. In the second part of the study, she focuses on Catholic Revival literature published in Bratislava in the seventeenth century, which played an important role in implementing Catholic reforms in Hungary.

The Significance of the Production of Books at the Historical Trnava University for the Development of Science and Literature on the Territory of the Present-Day Slovakia from the Perspective of Research Conducted Over the Last Two Decades

Author(s): Erika Juríková,Janka Mišeková / Language(s): English Issue: 3/2021

Over the last two decades, there has been more comprehensive and focused research on old prints produced by the historical Jesuit Trnava University. It existed in Trnava between 1635 and 1777 when it was moved to Buda (today’s Budapest, Hungary) by the monarch Maria Theresa. Thus the university influenced the educational level of the Hungarian population in the 17th and especially the 18th century, and became the centre of Baroque education in what is today Slovakia. The establishment and existence of Trnava University was of fundamental importance for the development of many scientific disciplines, which was further multiplied by the titles published by the Academic Printing House. This study aims to highlight those aspects of the activities of the university and individuals that have contributed to a breakthrough in scientific knowledge and at the same time have been the subject of partial or systematic research since 2000.

One of the major figures in the history of the Romanian Church, as well as of the Romanian culture, St. Antim Ivireanul had an intense printing activity in several centers in Romania. In 1694, he established in Snagov, where he reorganized the place and installed the printing press, which was used to bring out to light many books. One of the books printed there was the Akathist from 1698, which is analyzed in detail in this paper. The Akathist is also a proof of the fact that the activity of the printing press in Snagov was continuous, and not an interrupted one.

Cărţile Şcolii Ardelene în colecţiile fondului Teleki-Bolyai al Bibliotecii Judeţene Mureş

Author(s): Carmen MUNTEANU / Language(s): Romanian Issue: 3/2004

Author(s): Cornel Sigmirean / Language(s): Romanian Issue: 3/2004

We have to admit that the religious union from 1700 represented a very important moment in the cultural European opening of all Romanians. After 1700, Romanian students were closer connected to western culture and civilisation, because of the imperial authorities attempts to include the Romanian territories in the Greek-Catholic confessional space. Gheorghe Şincai began his studies at „De Propagande Fide” in 1774. He wiil be strongly influenced and touched by everything Rome offered him: teological courses, ancient monuments, ancient history etc. At Rome, Şincai will meet Ştefan Borgia, the educated cardinal, and with his help, he will have free access to all famous Italian librairies. He will finish his studies in 1779 and is the only from Romanian group who will obtain a doctor’ s degree. Şincai and his mates were the last Romanian students who will study at Rome in the 18th century. In the spring of 1779, the Romanian students arrived at Vienna and will be offerred the chance to study one more year at „Santa Barbara” College. The purpose of these courses was to prepare young priests in order to be the future chiefs of Greek-Catholic Church in imperial territories. At Vienna, Şincai will meet many Romanian students (S. Micu, I. BudaiDeleanu etc.), but also famous exponents of imperial culture (A. Hadik, Daniel Cornides, Iosif Benkö etc). He will continue to study and to copy very important documents for our history.

Gravura Roata Vieţii din Calendarul pe 100 de ani de la Buda, din 1814

Gravura Roata Vieţii din Calendarul pe 100 de ani de la Buda, din 1814

Author(s): Anca Elisabeta Tatay / Language(s): Romanian Issue: 8/2009

At the end of the XVIIIth century and the beginning of the XIXth century, the typography from Buda held an important position among the institutions of this kind, which used to print books for the Romanians. The number of laic books that were published here was bigger than that from the Romanian Countries, where the church and the princes exerted censorship upon publications. The printed works accomplished here were decorated with woodcuts, puncheon prints and lithographies. In The Calendar for 100 Years, made up by Nicola Nicolau from Braşov, and printed in Buda in 1814, there is an interesting puncheon print - the first one found by me in a laic published work , which came out in that printing house - entitled The Life’s Wheel. It is full of symbols, which I have tried to decrypt in this article. The illustration proves to have freemasonic connotations as well. The engraving Life’s Wheel was used as a model for the painting achieved by Ioan Eliazar from Valea Chioarului (as a laic named Lazar Toacaci). The picture was finished in 1833 and it can be seen in the wooden church from Răstoci (Sălaj County), whose patrons are Saints Archangels Michael and Gabriel.

Biblioteca Centrală Regională Mureş (1957-1965)

Author(s): Hajnal Agyagási / Language(s): Romanian Issue: 4/2005

Local newspapers represent an important departure point in the reconstruction of the history of institutions. Between 1957 - 1965 the local newspapers Steaua Roşie and Vörös Zászló published many articles concerning the activity of the Mureş County Library which enable us to reconstitute the most important stages of the development of the library. It was a period of reorganization and new beginnings: a technical section was founded and he children’ s library was moved to a more suitable location. From the same source we could also learn out about the so-called „house librairies”; these made up a network of librarians who would bring books up to the readers’ homes. Along time, these were transformed into district librairies.

Începutul interesului faţă de literatura pentru copii şi tineret

Începutul interesului faţă de literatura pentru copii şi tineret

Author(s): Mircea Popa / Language(s): Romanian Issue: 4/2005

The interest upon the literature for youth and children is quite understandable, because we all accept today the fact that literature is close connected to education. At the end of the 18th century and the beginning of the 19th century, Romanian culture was enriched with a large variety of texts, tranlated from the universal cultural patrimony. The importance of the book was in fact emphasized by all Romanian scholars; they considered that translating is one of the best ways of enriching national language. There were some attempts in order to organize certain series of books, containing the most famous universal writings, such as Robinson Crusoe, Gulliver’ s Travels, Fenelon and so on. Among all those Romanian scholars who tried to lay the foundation of some series we may mention I. D. Negulici, Grigore Pleşoianu and many others. Probably the most prolific one was I. M. Râureanu (1831 - 1904). He began his activity in 1867 with a collection of papers, who’ s importance consists in the moral advices they promoted. Râureanu’ s goal was to contribute to young and children moral education; he tried to convince them about the necessity of being responsible for their families, for their communities and for their countries. He considered an adequate education and lecture as being the most important elements in a positive evolution. Râureanu became famous for his initiatives; his collections were well organized, according to some criteria, such as the age of the readers and level of knowledge; in the same way, we may mention the fact that he tried to together different literary genres: short stories, biographies, anecdotes aso. Râureanu influenced many other initiatives of this kind, the most appreciated being the work of Adelina Maior - Tăslăuanu and latter we may mention the attempts of Octavian Tăslăuanu and Vasile Stan; but this kind of initiatives were still appreciated after 1918

The purpose of this paper was to study the beginnings of Children’ s Section, reflected in local newspapers between 1953-1965. The foundation of such a section was required by two main factors: the raising number of school-age children, who needed library’ s services, and their special need of permanent education. Nowadays, Children Section represents an important compartment of county library. Its fonds are enriched all the time and totalise about 50.000 bibliographic unities. It is also the host of important cultural events, such as painting exhibitions, contests, literary meetings etc.
