Проблеми на автоматизацията на кирило-методиевската библиография

Author(s): Nelly Gancheva / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 1/2013

The article presents the problems relating to the automation of the Cyrillo-Methodian bibliography and explores the perspectives for solving them. At the contemporary stage of development of the automated bibliographic database the following problems are outlined as being important: 1. entering and processing of descriptions with characters not contained in the standard Cyrillic and standard Latin sets; 2. management and control of the database; 3. elaboration of various applications to the records, thanks to which the functions of the database will expand and it will go beyond its purely bibliographic purposes; 4. systematization of the records; 5. presentation of the database on the Internet. The question of the necessity of applying a new information retrieval system and of the conversion of bibliographic records of the Cyrillo-Methodian bibliography from the format of CDS/ISIS to MARC 21 format is also addressed. The presented proposals outline the direction in which the automated Cyrillo-Methodian bibliography must be developed in order to respond to the contemporary requirements for bibliographic information systems and to contribute to improving the information access in the field of Cyrillo-Methodian studies.

INFORMATION SYSTEMS DEVELOPMENT ASPECTS FOR THE MOBILE WEB TECHNOLOGIES

INFORMATION SYSTEMS DEVELOPMENT ASPECTS FOR THE MOBILE WEB TECHNOLOGIES

Author(s): Jaime Campos / Language(s): English Issue: 01/2015

Purpose – The paper goes through and outlines the developments of IS methodologies as well as certain research approaches applied. In addition, the technical aspects of the ICT architectures are discussed for purposes of the development and implementation of the mobile web technologies for the industrial domain. Design/methodology/approach – The author organizes the relevant literaturefindings in three sections named the ICTs in the industrial maintenance domain, web oriented architecture and the IS development methodologies. The findings are analysed and discussed while highlighting aspects of the ICT architectures, IS methodologies and different approaches that one needs to be aware of for successful design and implementation of the mobile web technologies. Findings – The results reveal that mobile technologies have been developed mainly with the prototype and design approach where emphasis has been on the technical aspects. For the above mentioned reason the author reviews the area of the IS development methodologies as well as the ICT architectures, which shows rapid and dynamic process over time. In addition, it was found that for successful planning, implementation and use of the mobile web technologies it is important to emphasize other aspects and not just the technological ones. The research approaches that shed light on the IS development process are the Action design research as well as Participatory design approach. Research limitations/implications – The current work presented in this paper shows that to develop sustainable ICTs, especially mobile web technologies for the industrial domain, there is a need to consider various aspects which put an emphasis on not just the technological aspects of the developed systems but also, for instance, on the organizational context as well as the user’s needs and various stakeholders. It is, therefore, important to choose proper IS methodologies, tools, techniques and approaches for sustainable ICTs in the domain of interest. Practical implications – The current work pinpoints important aspects to understand and consider when choosing the IS methodology, tools and techniques for the mobile web technologies. Originality/Value – The paper pinpoints important characteristics to consider when planning to develop and implement mobile web technologies into the industrial maintenance engineering domain.

Łužisko-serbska bibliografija – jeje stawizny a přichod

Author(s): Franc Šěn / Language(s): Serbian Issue: 49/2014

The first Sorbian bibliographic registers were compiled in the 18th century and also became a tool for the growing nationalhistorical awareness of the Sorbian intelligentsia. In 1847, the society named Maćica Serbska was founded to promote scholarly and cultural discussions for a national-cultural discourse. In this function, it also made publication activities possible. In addition, the society founded a central Sorbian library and recorded all new Sorbian-language books in its journal. A genuine Sorbian bibliography was compiled by Jakub Wjacsławk in 1929 (re-issued and supplemented in 1952). The Institute for Sorbian People Research, founded in Bautzen in 1951 (since 1992 called the Sorbian Institute) continued this work. Predominantly in five-year intervals, altogether ten volumes of this bibliography were published in the period 1945–2005. Since 1986, this was done electronically, establishing a database, which has been made available on the website of the Sorbian Institute since 2003 and also forms part of the German-language virtual library Slavistik, the so called Slavistik-Portal.

Кирило-методиевската библиография: проблемът за източниците на информация

Author(s): Nelly Gancheva / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 4/2003

The article studies and systematizes the types of printed and electronic sources of bibliographic information (with possible long-distance access to them) on contemporary publications relating to Cyrillo-Methodian problems. It takes into account the advantages and shortcomings of the two forms of information presentation. The survey gives a general idea of sources of different types, contents and forms with a view to assisting and speeding up the process of the search for reliable and comprehensive information about new publications in the field on an international scale. As a result of the study the conclusion is reached that relative completeness and accuracy in compiling Cyrillo-Methodian publications may be achieved only by balancing the use of printed and electronic publications. The two sources supplement each other and contribute to the building up of an integral notion of the contemporary state of scholarly research. The article indicates the sources used by the associates of the Cyrillo-Methodian Research Centre of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences in compiling the Cyrillo-Methodian bibliography.

Knihovna Jana Thona (1886−1973) v Památníku národního písemnictví - hledání klíče k interpretaci

Author(s): Alena Petruželková / Language(s): Czech Issue: 46/2014

Jan Thon (1886–1973) was one of the few librarians who devoted himself not only to work in the library but also to library sciences as an academic discipline. In the history of Czech library sciences, the twenty years between the wars were an exceptional period, when the field operated similarly to the way it did in other European countries. This is attested to by the establishment of the Czechoslovak Society for Library Sciences (Československá společnost knihovědná) in early 1930. Among its founders from the ranks of Zdeněk Tobolka (1874–1949) was Jan Thon, Docent of Library Sciences at Charles University, one of the first librarians to hold a post there. In addition to being an occasion to consider the importance of Thon, the 95th anniversary of the Public Libraries Act also provides a welcome opportunity to discuss the current state and future of Czech library sciences. The article is, in addition, an appeal to go beyond the existing positivistic methodology in Czech library sciences and to come closer to the current interdisciplinary way of looking at book culture and the history of the book.
