Przedmioty przyrodnicze w wybranych krajach. Raport z wizyty studyjnej w Anglii

Przedmioty przyrodnicze w wybranych krajach. Raport z wizyty studyjnej w Anglii

Author(s): Joanna Lilpop,Urszula Poziomek / Language(s): Polish

CAUSE OF ACTION: Families divided: Romani and Egyptian Children in Albanian Institutions

CAUSE OF ACTION: Families divided: Romani and Egyptian Children in Albanian Institutions

Author(s): Author Not Specified / Language(s): English

There’s a high percentage of Romani and Egyptian children in children’s homes in Albania – a disproportionate number. These children are often put into institutions because of poverty, and then find it impossible ever to return to their families. Because of centuries of discrimination Roma and Egyptians in Albania are less likely to live in adequate housing, less likely to be employed and more likely to feel the effects of extreme poverty. As a result, authorities may take children into care - some parents even ask for this, as they can’t support their family. But under human rights law, poverty shouldn’t be a reason to deny children their right to family life. States must step in to support families to stay together. We’ve researched the situation, and on 6 July 2016 we made our case to the Commissioner for Protection from Discrimination in Albania claiming indirect discrimination against Roma and Egyptian children being taken into State care because of their economic situation and ethnicity. The case (and this report) focuses on one institution, the School Children’s Home in Shkodra, but it reflects the wider situation across the country.

BOOKS AND TEACHERS. The Great Debate on Education Kosovo needs in 2015

Author(s): Author Not Specified / Language(s): English

The time is ripe for a substantive national debate on the future of Kosovo schools – how to prepare the next generation of Kosovars to meet professional challenges in an uncertain future. || Any education reform must be debated widely in order to convince not just civil servants in the capital, but thousands of teachers and school officials as well. What do teachers in different schools across the country think constitutes good education? What do they think they are preparing students for? What do students or their parents expect? The reform must make sense to school directors, teachers, students and families of students across Kosovo. It must start from where Kosovo is today.

Should Humans Leave School?

Author(s): Nevena Mitranić Marinković,Predrag Krstić / Language(s): English Publication Year: 0

The school bell rings, and anxiety attacks. Is it going to be another three-quarters of stillness, another three-quarters of waiting to be called out, or the tests emerging from the teacher’s bag all of a sudden? This way or another, there’s no sense of meaning in it – only leaving what you enjoy behind. If you know children, then you know that only a couple would say that they actually like school – and even less that they like it because of learning. You might see them every morning dragging their feet and trying to spend a bit more time in the yards and on the streets just to keep away from another day inside the walls, and in the afternoon, with yet another ring of the bell, you won’t wait long till you see them running out through the doors, with joy and enthusiasm of freshly tasted freedom. School is over – life may begin.

Методологический аспект проблемы преемственности школьного и вузовского математического образования

Методологический аспект проблемы преемственности школьного и вузовского математического образования

Author(s): Maria Shabanova,Larisa Udovenko / Language(s): Russian Publication Year: 0

The unresolved problem of continuity of school and university mathematical education is one of the reasons for the expulsion of students from the first courses of those areas of training that provide for the continuation of mathematical education. The complexity of solving this problem is related to its complex nature: the difference in the requirements for the level of mathematics of graduates of secondary schools and university students, the rupture of meaningful links between school and university mathematics courses, the change in the form of the organization of the educational process. The article highlights and reveals another aspect of this problem – the methodological one. The authors present the theoretical foundations and an example of creating methodological conditions that facilitate the student's transition from one form of educational cognition to another.

THE IMPACT OF INTERACTIVE METHODS ON ENHANCING THE EDUCATIONAL PROCESS IN CHEMISTRY

THE IMPACT OF INTERACTIVE METHODS ON ENHANCING THE EDUCATIONAL PROCESS IN CHEMISTRY

Author(s): Elena Prunici / Language(s): English Publication Year: 0

This study refers to the fact that interactive methods have a significant contribution to improving the educational process and have a particularly great impact on ensuring the quality of chemistry education. As interactive methods gain increasing traction, they represent an alternative to traditional teaching that benefits both students and teachers equally. It is increasingly recognized today that schools need to undergo a radical change to provide students with the opportunity to acquire constructive social experience based on cooperation and collaboration in solving real-life problems. Purpose of the Research: To highlight the impact of interactive methods on enhancing the quality of students' learning in chemistry. Research objectives: (1) Determining the role of interactive methods in the educational process in chemistry; (2) Designing teaching tasks in chemistry with the implementation of interactive methods to contribute to improving the quality of the educational process; (3) Identifying the role of interactive methods in enhancing the quality of the educational process in chemistry. Research hypothesis: It consists of determining the impact of interactive methods and techniques on the effectiveness of learning and the improvement of the educational process in chemistry. The interactive methods that I have implemented and propose in this paper are just a part of those that contribute to enhancing the quality of the educational process in chemistry lessons and facilitate interactive learning. These methods allow students to learn more easily, solve various creative problem situations, and transform the teacher into a true facilitator of learning, which is crucial for effective learning.

KOMPETENCIJE NEOPHODNE ZA USPJEŠAN RAD NASTAVNIKA RAZREDNO – PREDMETNE NASTAVE

Author(s): Mario Babić,Maja Babić / Language(s): Bosnian Publication Year: 0

Human resource, i.e. educators, teachers and teachers in educational institutions are actually a key factor in the success of any educational system. The competences of teachers have been the focus of interest of a large number of pedagogues in recent years. The reason for its topicality, among other things, is the complexity of defining the term itself, but also the increasing understanding of competences as the operationalization of learning outcomes. The professional development of teachers based on lifelong learning (competencies, personality traits, motivation, interests, knowledge innovation) contributes to the creation of the professional identity of these professions. The aim of this paper is to present the terminological presentation of the concept, role and importance of competences and point out some of the key competences of these professions in order to point out the importance of professional development and further permanent work of teachers, all with the aim of methodical profiling and increasing efficiency in the teaching process.

Novel Blend: Psychology-Driven, Literature-Integrated, and Tech-Supported Language Teaching

Author(s): Michail St. Fountoulakis / Language(s): English Publication Year: 0

This research explores the integration of literature, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), and positive psychology in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) classrooms within the Greek educational context. Employing a mixed-methods approach with 198 participants from Greek primary and high schools, the study reveals a 20% increase in student engagement and a 15% improvement in test scores compared to traditional methods. Despite potential biases, especially from teachers' involvement, findings indicate enhanced motivation, well-being, and learning outcomes among students. The cultural specificity of this context highlights the need for further exploration across diverse environments and educational levels to validate these approaches universally. This study underscores the potential of integrating literature, ICT, and positive psychology in EFL instruction, emphasizing the creation of dynamic, inclusive environments that prioritize holistic student development. These findings encourage educators to foster well-being-centred learning, with implications for a broader, culturally responsive educational landscape, adaptable to various global settings.

Author(s): Irma Čehić,Sanela Merjem Rustempašić,Lejla Silajdžić / Language(s): Bosnian Publication Year: 0

The education reform of 2003 was the beginning of numerous changes in the education system in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In a country with a large decentralization of the education system and a lack of a unified education policy, such big changes were accompanied by numerous challenges and difficulties. Therefore, it is necessary to carefully plan and prepare any change in the educational system, before starting the implementation. All this was not the case with the 2003 reform. The aim of the research was to examine the role and significance of the pedagogical service in the implementation of the reform, and whether there was a change in the position of the pedagogical service in the nine-year primary school compared to its position in the eight-year primary school. The research included pedagogues, teachers and principals and deputy principals of elementary schools in the Sarajevo Canton, who were involved in the process of reforming education. The results show that the role of pedagogues in any change in the educational system must be leading.

Metodika nastavnog rada s nadarenim učenicima

Metodika nastavnog rada s nadarenim učenicima

Author(s): Amina Smajović / Language(s): Bosnian Publication Year: 0

Gifted students are students with highly developed general intellectual or specific abilities, which makes them more advanced than their peers. Precisely because of their superior abilities, or even their potential, they are able to achieve more original, useful, creative and successful results. It is mandatory for schools to provide students with such learning experiences that will profile their abilities - develop or improve them, with the pervasive idea of ennobling their personalities; awakening moral awareness and strengthening moral responsibility. Considering that didactic-methodical scenarios are designed for students of typical abilities, gifted students are at risk of underachievement. Disproportionate requests are placed before them that do not correspond to their abilities, and their needs primarily for expanding and deepening knowledge, cultivating creativity, and increasing intrinsic motivation are not considered. This research aims to operationalize methodical guidelines important for the educational needs of gifted students and to examine their representation in the Framework Curriculum for nine-year elementary schools in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It has been shown that, despite the multitude of scientific works on giftedness and appropriate education of gifted students, teachers lack clear methodical instructions on modeling the environment with the aim of maximizing student abilities.
