Author(s): Radoslav Kvasničák,Terézia Straková / Language(s): Slovak / Issue: 1/2018

Keywords: Beetles; Mining; Heap; Meadow; Handlová; Partizánske;

The aim of the research is to determine the impact of the mining activity on both quantitative and qualitative representation of beetles in the town of Handlová and the control station without a mining influence in Partizánske (Trencin region, West Slovakia). In the mentioned cities, we have selected two meadow biotopes (A – heap, B – control) with different pedological and chemical composition and herbal vegetation. The coleopterological material was obtained during the vegetation period (April – October) in the year 2016 by the method of sweeping grasslands. We have obtained approximately 351 exemplars (ex.) of beetles. They belong to 62 different species (sp.) from 14 different families. We have recorded differences in the praticol beetles in habitat (A – heap, Handlová) affected by mining activity (151 ex.). The control site without mining influence (B – meadow, Partizánske) shows more number of individuals compared to site A (200 ex.). The species diversity with the succession of vegetation on a mining site (A – heap, Handlova) shows more species of beetles (41 sp.) than the control biotop (B – meadow) in Partizánske (32 sp.). The differences in the frequency and species diversity shows the cenotic characters and the seasonal dynamics of the beetle community and the chemical analysis of soil samples taken from the meadow sites (A – heap, B – control) affected by various mining activity.

The largest water user on the planet is agriculture, followed by industry, and ultimately, the population. The UN is conscious of what water means to the humanity of this planet. Therefore, this area has been entrusted to the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). In Slovakia, a substantial part of the population is supplied through 16 water companies. In Ružomberok district water supply is provided by the Water Company Ružomberok. At present, the lower Liptov region is rich in quality groundwater and its reserves are still sufficient. Nevertheless, we cannot just stay at this conclusion. We must learn how to use water economically and appreciate it as a precious treasure that we have received as a gift and thanks to it we can live here.

E-learning ako komunikačná situácia s potenciálom a limitmi: názory a skúsenosti vysokoškolákov

Author(s): Pavol Rankov / Language(s): Slovak / Issue: 2/2023

Keywords: E-learning; Student discourse; Interpersonal communication; Qualitative research; University students

Udes qualitative methods were authobiografical retrospective essay, structured interview and questionnaire with open questions. The respondents were Slovak and Czech university students. The corpus of text data was evaluated by discourse analysis. Most students find e-learning more demanding than face-to-face education in terms of concentration and fatigue. The home environment gives students distraction and the computer is a multitasking medium. E-learning does not sufficiently support interactive communication with feedback between teachers and students, but it is also not a sufficient platform for effective communication between students. Direct interpersonal communication is important for building informal student relationships that support a creative atmosphere in the student group. Most respondents prefer face-to-face education, but with the advantages of online technologies, e.g. in case of illness or for dissemination of study materials.
