Bioenergetics: Analysis of Bioenergy Sources in the Slovak Republic, European Union and the World

Bioenergetics: Analysis of Bioenergy Sources in the Slovak Republic, European Union and the World

Bioenergetika – analýza bioenergetických zdrojov v Slovenskej republike, Európskej únii a vo svete

Author(s): Jaroslav Demko / Language(s): Slovak / Issue: 2/2018

Keywords: Bioenergy; Renewables; European Union

Use of fossil fuels produces emissions of polluting materials in the air that besides health problems make unwanted changes in global ecosystems and contribute to global climate change on Earth. Developed countries with high environmental awareness cannot imagine their future without renewables with high share of bioenergy sources – not only for exhausting of fossil fuels but also for their energy safety or climate change. Based on these development trends and political stances it is possible to predict that the share of renewable sources on total gross energy consumption will successively grow as same as both scientific and technology progress and pricing accessibility of devices using renewables including bioenergy sources potential will grow as well.

Vitamin C – L-ascorbic acid is one of the basic antioxidants. Because of its diverse functions, this acid is indispensable to the organism. It is a key factor in regenerating and maintaining health. While the most of the organisms are able to synthesize L-ascorbic acid, the human being lacks the major enzyme L-gulonolactone oxidase, the crucial enyme for synthesis of L-ascorbic acid. The body can store vitamin C only in a very small amounts, so it must be supplemented to our body several times a day.

Author(s): Radoslav Kvasničák,Patrícia Dzureková / Language(s): Slovak / Issue: 3/2018

Keywords: Beetles; Meadow; Fidelity; Flowering plants; Orava Region

The aim of this paper is to determine the fidelity of beetles on the choriotop of the flowering plants in selected mountain meadows at Oravska Magura (Magurka, 1 107 Meter, in: CHKO Horna Orava, North Slovakia). In the study area were chosen two habitats (A – 620 Meter, B – 655 Meter) which represented the flowering herbs of the families: Asteraceae, Ranunculaceae, Fabaceae, Apiaceae and Lamiaceae. The entomological material we acquire method with use the exhaustor and slipping grasslands during the vegetation period (May – October) in the year 2014. We counted approximately 373 ex. of beetles. They belong to 11 different species originating from 6 different families. The dominant praticol families were: Curculionidae 169 ex. (45,3 %), Buprestidae 79 ex. (21,2 %) and Chrysomelidae 69 ex. (18,5 %). The eudominate species of beetles bound to the flowering plants belong to the number with 58 ex. (15,5 %) of Liparus glabrirastris (in Petasites hybridus), 52 ex. (13,9 %) Apion apricans (in Trifolium pratense), 51 ex. (13,7 %) Anthaxia nitidula (in Hieracium umbellatum) and 44 ex. (11,8 %) of Cassida viridis (in Lamium purpureum), which are a occurrence on two mountain grasslands. The question remains at selected sites to evaluate the quantitative and qualitative representation of beetles, their dominance, seasonal dynamics, and cenothetic features of the study area. The tables no. 2 and 3 shows the species representation of beetles, their abundance (dominance), cenotic charakteristic and their developmental and trophic binding to the flowering plant species.

Author(s): Janka Bursová / Language(s): Slovak / Issue: 1/2020

Keywords: Stress; Stressors; Stress situations; Factors; Causes; Stress phases; Stress levels; Stress manifestations; Help;

The paper highlights the long-term effects of stress, which can have physical, emotional, intellectual, social and spiritual consequences on humans. These are usually mixed as stress affects the whole person. From a physical point of view, stress can compromise their physiological balance, and on the other hand, it can help to cope with the stress situation. The emotional consequences of stress can take the form of negative or non-constructive feelings about themselves. In the intellectual sphere, it affects the ability of perception and problem solving. In the social sphere, stress affects the individual's relationships with others, and in the spiritual sphere can change his general views on life, so I consider it important to pay attention to this topic.

Keywords: Beetles; Grassland biotop; Points of the compass; Heliofilia; Biele Karpaty; Velka Javorina;

The aim of the research is to determine the impact of the various effects of sunlight (heliofília) on quantitative-qualitative representation of beetles to areas with meadow vegetation with different light and weather conditions depending on different points of the compass (north, peak and south). We selected three sites of studied meadow biotop, located in the Biele Karpaty. The first studied area (A) is located on the southern side of the highest peak of the Biele Karpaty – Veľká Javorina (910 m), the second area (B) represents the peak of the Veľká Javorina (969.8 m) and the third area (C) is located on the northern slope of the hill (910 m). The aim of our analysis is to evaluate the quantitative and qualitative representation of beetles, their dominance, cenotic characteristic to the study area and seasonal dynamics of the growing season (April – October) in 2015. Entomology material was obtained by the method of sweeping grasslands. We counted approximately 429 ex. of beetles. They belong to 40 different species (spp.) originating from 10 different families. The greatest differences were found between southern and northern habitats, while habitat A (south) has proved to be the most stable and richest represented meadow environment with species from all 10 families (175 ex., 27 spp.) and habitat C (North) as a generic poorest meadow environment, represented by the species from 7 families (99 ex., 16 spp.). On the all three stacionars of meadow dominated the praticol family of beetles: Chrysomelidae.

Every teacher naturally evaluates the effectiveness of his/her teaching activities. After the preparatory discussions with experts and meeting the necessary general scientific criteria for the creation of tests, the MOBAK test batteries were created to test the basic motor competencies object movement (ball control) and self-movement of the students at the 1st, 3rd and 5th grade elementary school. We formulated the following research question: What content differences are there between MOBAK 1, MOBAK 3 and MOBAK 5 in terms of age and gender of the tested subjects? Content analysis of the available documents, which is considered to be a method representing qualitative research, was the main method of data collection. We defined the terminology for the MOBAK test batteries. From the full range of the available papers about the MOBAK test batteries, we have selected a set of three test manuals published in English. Using comparison, abstraction, generalization and other methods of logic, we obtained new knowledge from the primary facts. We found that the MOBAK 1, MOBAK 3 and MOBAK 5 test batteries are identical for boys and girls, but they reflect the age diversity and, to our best knowledge, also gradation in complexity from the youngest 1st grade elementary students to the oldest 5th grade elementary students. Within the limits of the said spectrum, it will be possible to collect the initial results obtained through research testing and practical experience with the Slovak junior elementary students in the relevant age groups in the future.

Perception of the landscape is a very subjective factor. The forester perceives the landscape differently, the farmer. The inhabitant behaves differently, the tourist has a different view. The development of regions must be seen in the context of the synthesis of all perspectives. The quality of life has a major impact on the territory. Equipment, availability, quality of environmental components are essential factors of development. However, the main influence on the territory has direct residents and users, who are in the region throughout the period. This is one of the factors on the basis of which we decided to evaluate the quality of life in the rural residence Vlkolínec.
