Studia z Geografii Politycznej i Historycznej

Frequency: 1 issues / Country: Poland

“Studies in Political and Historical Geography” are a research periodical (yearbook) in Polish (and extensive summaries of articles in English) presenting the theoretical and empirical issues undertaken in each of the “title” disciplines. Being situated on the border of human, social and natural sciences conditions the interdisciplinary character of the journal profile. It is issued by the Department of Political Geography and Regional Studies, University of Lodz and reflects the scientific profile of the unit as well as the research interests of its members. In the journal one can find the studies and material published by the researchers from the scientific center of Lodz but also by other Polish and foreign centers. They are represented by both authors universally recognized as an authorities of the subjects as well as debutants whose research interests focus on the broadly understood geo-political and geo-historical aspects. The individual volumes of the journal have a similar internal structure, which consists of the following sections: articles, research notes, reviews and science information. The journal is addressed to a wide audience: scientists, practitioners responsible for implementing social and economic policies at different levels (local, regional, national), students of geography, history, sociology, political science, and others interested in the geo-political and geo-historical issues.

Research in Language (RiL)

Frequency: 4 issues / Country: Poland

Research in Language (RiL) is an international journal committed to publishing excellent studies in the area of linguistics and related disciplines focused on human communication. Language studies, as other scholarly disciplines, undergo two seemingly counteracting processes: the process of diversification of the field into narrow specialized domains and the process of convergence, strengthened by interdisciplinarity. It is the latter perspective that RiL editors invite for the journal, whose aim is to present language in its entirety, meshing traditional modular compartments, such as phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, and pragmatics, and offer a multidimensional perspective which exposes varied but relevant aspects of language, e.g. the cognitive, the psychological, the institutional aspect, as well as the social shaping of linguistic convention and creativity. Affiliated at the crosswords between Eastern and Western Europe and between the Slavic and the Anglo-American tradition, RiL is uniquely suited not only to represent current linguistics research, but also provoke confrontation and provide a forum for discussion for researchers rooted in different schools, distant both in theory and geographical space, from Europe and beyond.
