- Keywords:internationalisation; internationalisation theory; professional business services; strategy
- Summary/Abstract:This study analyses the theoretical frameworks and features determining the internationalisation of Professional Business Services (PBS). The PBS is a heterogeneous category of services, whose nature is shaped by the level of interaction between the client and the provider, as well as the feasibility of digital delivery. The aim of the study is to synthesise internationalisation theories to develop a strategic matrix that facilitates the choice of market entry models. The methodology includes a secondary data review and content analysis using the VOSviewer tool. The findings indicate that digitalization is altering the pace and motives of expansion, promoting “born digital” models. The research results can be used by managers as a basis for creating decision-making algorithms in the process of international expansion.

- Summary/Abstract:This study examines the development of digital commerce in Georgia, focusing on consumer behaviour and the level of digital readiness among e-commerce companies. A mixed-methods approach was used, combining an online survey of 312 consumers with semi-structured interviews with managers of Georgian e-commerce companies. The research outcomes demonstrate that age and income significantly influence the frequency of online purchases, preferences for channels, and the use of mobile apps. Companies are demonstrating uneven progress in their digital transformation, with logistical constraints and the partial implementation of digital tools remaining key barriers. The results were compared to the context of Poland, which – as statistics show – is at a higher level of e-commerce market maturity.

- Keywords:online education; human capital; labour market; lifelong learning; competency gap
- Summary/Abstract:Online education has become a key element of labour market resilience in the face of crises (e.g. war and demographic change). This study examines the strategic role of digital learning in mitigating challenges in Ukraine’s labour market. Research results demonstrate that online education supports reskilling, reduces competency gaps, and increases worker adaptability. Employers increasingly appreciate lifelong learning, yet have concerns about programmes’ quality, alignment with market needs, and low learner’s motivation. In this research, the structural barriers are identified, including poor digital infrastructure, a lack of credential recognition, and low employer engagement, along with opportunities such as public–private partnerships, cost-effective training, and workforce reintegration. On the basis of the study, recommendations are presented: how to enhance the quality, accessibility, and labour market alignment of online education in Ukraine and similar post-crisis contexts.

- Keywords:legal regulation; psychotherapeutic services; psychotherapy; certification; European standards
- Summary/Abstract:This study examines the legal regulation of activities in the field of psychotherapeutic services in Ukraine in the context of the adoption of the Law of Ukraine “On the Mental Health Care System” and related subordinate acts. The author analyses the previous legal framework, international experience, and European standards of the European Association for Psychotherapy (EAP) and European Federation of Psychologists’ Associations (EFPA). New law introduces mandatory certification for psychotherapists, defines their legal status, and integrates the profession into the state policy system. However, issues regarding the standardisation of professional development, and quality control of psychotherapeutic services remain unresolved. The study’s aim is to evaluate the compliance of the Ukrainian system with European standards, its potential impact on professional practice, and the prospects for improving legal regulation of psychotherapeutic services.

- Keywords:university heritage; higher education institution; promotion; tour guide; „third mission”; Ukraine; Lviv Polytechnic
- Summary/Abstract:The research examines contemporary approaches to promotion of higher education institutions through the use of their heritage resources, focusing on the experience of Lviv Polytechnic National University during the periods of the COVID-19 pandemic and the ongoing war. The primary objective of the study was to verify the hypothesis that the main target group of visitors consists exclusively of eventual future students, as well as to analyse institutional promotional practices within a cultural and tourism-oriented context. The research methodology combined a literature review, content analysis of promotional and strategic materials, partially structured interviews with staff members of the Promotion Centre, and participant observation conducted during promotional events and guided tours. The findings demonstrate that Lviv Polytechnic successfully integrates its university heritage with a contemporary cultural framework, thereby becoming an independent tourist attraction in the city. The analysis refuted the initial hypothesis, revealing that the visitor audience is considerably more diverse and that visitors’ motivations extend beyond recruitment-related interests, including architectural and cultural values, as well as the desire to see attractions outside the mainstream tourist circuit. Guided tour activities constitute a key promotional tool, implemented, among others, through the project Lviv Polytechnic as a Site of Guided Tours and through close cooperation with local tourism community. The research results indicate that opening university spaces for tourists not only enriches the city’s cultural offer but also supports the implementation of the so-called „third mission” of the university. The study demonstrates that university heritage can function as an effective instrument for promotion and for building institutional visibility within a broader urban context.

- Keywords:Jagiellonian cultural tradition; Slavic community; Ukrainian-Polish relations
- Summary/Abstract:The aim of this study is to examine the work of Mykola Leontovych and Borys Lyatoshynsky in the context of Jagiellonian principles in shaping their intellectual biographies. The scientific novelty of the research lies in identifying the cultural phenomenon of Jagiellonian cultural tradition in the formation of the intellectual biography of prominent authors in Ukrainian culture and art. Based on the analysed material, it has been found that the symbolist stylistic preferences of M. Leontovych and B. Lyatoshynsky, which marked the beginning of their creative work, exerted a significant influence on their subsequent activities, carrying the Jagiellonian potential for national harmony between the ideals of Western and Eastern Europe. Symbolist principles of thought fostered the creation of complex metaphorical compositions of images in the works of these artists, considering the importance of form, means of expression, folk melodies, and their compatibility or contradiction with musical symbolism. This gave their work a deeper artistic dimension.

- Keywords:low-cost carriers (LCC), airports; connectivity; network analysis; Poland; Ryanair; Wizz air; COVID-19
- Summary/Abstract:This study examines the spatial structure, performance and socio-economic impact of low-cost carriers (LCC) in Poznań. An assessment of the airport’s performance demonstrated that low-cost carriers account for a significant share of total passenger traffic, with the number of passengers served showing positive growth dynamics. The correlation analysis confirms the existence of a relationship between the growth in passenger traffic generated by low-cost airlines and the demographic potential of the region, the development of tourism, and the financial conditions offered to carriers (landing fees and passenger charges). The study demonstrated the negative impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, which led to a reduction in the number of connections, a decline in passenger traffic, job losses, and financial losses at selected airports. The authors also discussed how the opening of Ryanair and Wizz Air operational bases contributed to an increase in investment and the number of potential jobs in Poznań.

- Keywords:revenue management; organisational revenue management mechanism; hotel industry; demand management; risk and financial reserves; local hotel market; sustainable development
- Summary/Abstract:This study examines the implementation of a revenue management mechanism within a hotel management system in conditions of fluctuating demand and a turbulent market environment. The research question is focused on how a logically structured implementation of revenue management practices and technologies can increase resource efficiency, improve financial performance, and enhance the competitiveness and financial stability of a hotel business. The aim of the study is to identify and conceptualize the components of the organisational revenue management mechanism, including strategic planning, resource allocation, and a performance evaluation system that integrates pricing decisions, demand management, and the development of new revenue centers for sustainable economic, social, and environmental development. An analysis of the literature on revenue management, an assessment of management practices in the hotel industry, as well as analytical and comparative methods were used to identify risk factors and revenue growth potential in the local market. The research results demonstrate that a coherent organisational revenue management mechanism facilitates the adaptation of decision-making to changing consumer preferences, contributes to cost structure optimisation, improves service quality, and creates the basis for developing strategies for competing businesses in the local market. The proposed approach is useful for both hotel managers and stakeholders involved in the development of a sustainable tourism economy.

- Author(s):Oleksandr Patlatoi
- Language:Polish
- Subject(s):Sociology
- Page Range:163-183
- No. of Pages:20
- Keywords:value chains; global value chains (GVC); economic integration; Poland; Ukraine; upgrading
- Summary/Abstract:The author analyses bilateral value chains between Poland and Ukraine as a mechanism of economic integration. The study employs data from OECD’s database Trade in Value Added (TiVA) and World Bank’s database World Integrated Trade Solution (WITS), combining gross trade analysis with the decomposition of domestic and foreign value added in exports and final demand. The research results indicate that, despite dynamic growth in trade turnover and Poland’s persistent trade surplus, actual production integration remains limited. The trade structure reveals clear asymmetry: Poland mainly exports final and processed goods, while Ukraine supplies raw materials and intermediate goods. The share of Polish value added in Ukrainian final demand (particularly in manufacturing and services) is significant, whereas the contribution of Ukrainian value added to Poland’s final demand is marginal and concentrated in resource-based sectors. Trade liberalisation (DCFTA, EU extraordinary measures) has not led to a substantial deepening of production fragmentation between these two countries. It is found that current model of bilateral linkages does not fully support the long-term upgrading of Ukraine’s economy and may also constrain Poland’s ability to develop its own value chains. The research outcomes are relevant for assessing the effects of trade integration and for shaping industrial and investment policies in both countries in the context of nearshoring and friendshoring.

- Page Range:187-206
- No. of Pages:19
- Keywords:family farming; cluster analysis; farm typology; Ukraine; regional development
- Summary/Abstract:The aim of the study was to identify development types of family farms in the regions of Ukraine based on cluster analysis using production, structural, and efficiency indicators. The k-means method, supplemented with Principal Component Analysis (PCA), enabled the identification of four clusters of family farming. The distinguished clusters include: balanced mixed systems in the north-western and western parts of the country; larger grain and dairy farms in central and southern regions; and extensive, market-oriented field-crop systems in the south-east. Each cluster differs in production structure, intensity level, and development potential. The research results were used to formulate differentiated development strategies for family farms, including production intensification, expansion of processing, market integration, and climate adaptation.

- No. of Pages:17
- Keywords:evidence ecosystems; evidence-informed governance; responsible governance; institutional resilience; post-crisis governance
- Summary/Abstract:The aim of this study is to develop a coherent analytical framework that enables a deeper understanding of the evidence ecosystems’ functioning in crisis-affected and transforming states. The author applies analytical synthesis of academic literature and policy documents in the fields of public governance, science for policy, and institutional resilience. The main research outcome is a proposed four-dimensional model encompassing infrastructure, culture, capacities, and networks, complemented by key mechanisms through which evidence operates. The study demonstrates that effective use of evidence requires an ecosystem-based approach rather than isolated measures. The proposed framework offers both analytical and practical value, particularly for governing reconstruction processes and institutional reforms, including in the context of Ukraine.

- Summary/Abstract:The authors conducted in this study a comprehensive analysis of the effectiveness of a polysiloxane-based intumescent fire-retardant coating for steel building structures. The main focus is on the development and verification of a calculation method for determining the fire resistance limits of steel structures with applied coatings under standard fire temperature conditions. The inverse heat conduction problem solution method was used to identify the temperature-dependent effective thermal conductivity coefficient of the expanded coating layer. Based on a series of fire tests of samples with different cross-sectional coefficients and coating thicknesses, a data array was obtained, which made it possible to create a regression model of the time to reach the critical temperature of a steel structure. The research results were transformed into practical engineering nomograms for the design of fire protection for steel structures of fire resistance classes R15–R90.
