Summary/Abstract: This study examines the spatial structure, performance and socio-economic impact of low-cost carriers (LCC) in Poznań. An assessment of the airport’s performance demonstrated that low-cost carriers account for a significant share of total passenger traffic, with the number of passengers served showing positive growth dynamics. The correlation analysis confirms the existence of a relationship between the growth in passenger traffic generated by low-cost airlines and the demographic potential of the region, the development of tourism, and the financial conditions offered to carriers (landing fees and passenger charges). The study demonstrated the negative impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, which led to a reduction in the number of connections, a decline in passenger traffic, job losses, and financial losses at selected airports. The authors also discussed how the opening of Ryanair and Wizz Air operational bases contributed to an increase in investment and the number of potential jobs in Poznań.
