Summary/Abstract: This study examines the legal regulation of activities in the field of psychotherapeutic services in Ukraine in the context of the adoption of the Law of Ukraine “On the Mental Health Care System” and related subordinate acts. The author analyses the previous legal framework, international experience, and European standards of the European Association for Psychotherapy (EAP) and European Federation of Psychologists’ Associations (EFPA). New law introduces mandatory certification for psychotherapists, defines their legal status, and integrates the profession into the state policy system. However, issues regarding the standardisation of professional development, and quality control of psychotherapeutic services remain unresolved. The study’s aim is to evaluate the compliance of the Ukrainian system with European standards, its potential impact on professional practice, and the prospects for improving legal regulation of psychotherapeutic services.
