Începuturi literare la Tîrgu Mureş

Author(s): Alex Cistelecan / Language(s): Romanian Issue: 16-17/2018

After the foundation, right after the Great Union, of the three Romanian high schools and a little later of the Normal School, in Tîrgu Mureş came from other regions not only teachers, but also students. Some of them, together with the fragile „local forces”, tried to initiate a literary movement in the town, even though their connection with Tîrgu Mureş was a rather superficial one.The present study highlights some of these figures who passed through Tîrgu Mureş and were connnected to the cultural background of the town/county.

Începuturile jurnalismului radiofonic mureşean - Radio Tîrgu Mureş

Începuturile jurnalismului radiofonic mureşean - Radio Tîrgu Mureş

Author(s): Angela Precup / Language(s): Romanian Issue: 14-15/2016

March 2nd 1958 marked the appearance of the radio journalism in the Mureş area, with its destiny profoundly connected to the local written press of the communist period, due to an entire generation of common editors. By that time, Radio Tîrgu Mureş was the fifth regional studio after those previously created in Cluj and Craiova (1954), Timişoara (1955) and Iaşi (1956). Between 1958 - 1985, the first generation of radio journalists created and developed the local radio journalism, struggling to overcome the political restrictions and the strict censorship of the communist period, in order to provide not only politically predefined pieces of information, but also authentic productions to the listeners. Thus, Radio Tîrgu Mureş achieved a significant performance of becoming an outpost against censorship during the 70s, offering the regional culture the unique experience of the free expression, as explained by Cornel Moraru, chief-editor of Vatra, a representative cultural publication of the period. But the voice of the radio was brought to silence in January 1985, when the communist regime decided to close all the regional radios. During the fall of communism, Radio Tîrgu Mureş was reborn in December 1989, when the old team of editors restarted the bilingual transmission, in Romanian and Hungarian.

Rozmowa Polaka z Włochem Łukasza Górnickiego. Przyczynek do historii edycji

Author(s): Stanisław Siess-Krzyszkowski / Language(s): Polish Issue: 4/2021

Rozmowa Polaka z Włochem (A Discussion between a Pole and an Italian) is one of the most important political works by Łukasz Górnicki. Written at the end of the 16th century, it was repeatedly reprinted from the 17th century until today. It is also a widely known example of Polish literary plagiatrism: in 1616 Rozmowa was published by Jędrzej Suski as his own work. For a long time Suski edition was considered to be identical with the anonymous version of Rozmowa published sine anno and sine loco, but in 2008 Anna Sitkowa described the actual plagiatrized version with the dedication letter signed by Suski himself. Moreover, typographical analyses of the anonymous version of Rozmowa indicate that it was in fact printed in 1630s, and thus it is not a first, but a third edition of the work. Determining the correct order of editions has significant consequences regarding textual history and criticism.

Publishing as a Tool for the Formation and Accumulation of Symbolic Capital in Russia

Author(s): Renat Irikovich Bekkin / Language(s): Bosnian,English Issue: 2/2021

Medina Publishing is one of the oldest and largest Islamic publishers in Russia in termsof volume. This article examines its evolution from a project publishing work on localhistory and the Nizhny Novgorod Tatars to a publisher of modern theological literaturewritten by representatives of the Renovationist movement. Medina characteristically distributes most of its books, newspapers, and magazines free. Its core aims areeducational, image-building, and ideological in nature. This article looks at Medina’srole as a tool for the formation and accumulation of symbolic capital by one of Russia’sIslamic religious organisations (muftiates), the Spiritual Administration of Muslims ofthe Russian Federation (DUM RF). The author notes Medina’s unique position in the Russian publishing market as a publisher focused on literature for the educated readerwith special knowledge in the fields of religious studies, philology, etc. Medina’s publications encourage readers to believe that the centre of Islamic theological thought inRussia is at DUM RF, legitimating the claims of the muftiate and its leader to spiritual leadership of the Russian ummah. Both DUM RF and Medina focus their effortson building the profile of intellectuals as people government officials, as those whosedecisions govern the fate of religious associations in Russia, can work with rather thanas representatives of an alien, incomprehensible, and hostile force (which is how bureaucratsin Russia have viewed Islam for centuries).

Powsinogi beskidzkie Emila Zegadłowicza – ewolucja formy i treści

Powsinogi beskidzkie Emila Zegadłowicza – ewolucja formy i treści

Author(s): Joanna Kulczyńska-Kruk / Language(s): English,Polish Issue: 1/2022

The article presents the evolution of formal, graphic and typographic solutions, as well as fundamental changes in the content of the ballads included in the collection entitled Powsinogi beskidzkie by Emil Zegadłowicz. A comparative analysis covered the editions from 1923, 1925, 1927, 1929, 1938 and the editions of the works Ballada o Wowrze (1924) and Ballada o Świątkarzu (1928). The results of the research indicate the important role of the editorial tradition in the formation of Zegadłowicz’s book, confirm the author’s interest in old and Modern Art, and indicate a conscious and deliberate resignation from the latest printing achievements in favor of the former printing workshop. Editions of the Powsinogi beskidzkie are in line with the “idea of a beautiful book”. The evolution of the graphic form of subsequent editions largely testifies to the aesthetic changes that took place in the design of the book in the interwar years.

Visual Emotion Recognition Using Deep Neural Networks

Visual Emotion Recognition Using Deep Neural Networks

Author(s): Alexander I. Iliev,Ameya Mote / Language(s): English Issue: XII/2022

It has been proven historically how important feelings and expressions are. They form an important role in communications between individuals of different culture. In the present day, Globalization has led to exchange of vast number of ideas among people on Earth. This gives rise to a unique challenge of identifying what the person in front is speaking about and formulate opinions likewise. Failing to do that would often result in unfortunate consequences. This paper leads to make inroads in this field and provide a basis to other future researchers. We took images from a preexisting video dataset and recognize the emotions behind it. Through a series of experiments, a final neural network model was created which gave an accuracy of 88%.
