История на човешката еволюция (част 2)

Author(s): Kiril Petrov / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 3/2018

The present work is an attempt to broaden the biography of the autonomous individual. Contrary to the conception of the inborn sociality of a person that deprives him of his uniqueness and refuted by various manifestations of mental disorders, the idea of an individual way of life could explain some contradictions and paradoxes in his behavior. Being alone in nature and without physical contact with similar individuals, he had not only to develop and improve his sensitivity and the way of perceiving reality, but also to change the metabolism of his own organism. Losing instincts by changing connections with reality, he manages to turn objects into a source of information, providing him certain and safe means of survival. That information will became his personal environment unattainable for animals. An environment, which purpose is to function as an untouchable, invisible „territory“, i.e. as a consciousness.

Музеят и „културата на участие“ – проекции в български образователен контекст

Author(s): Vasya Delibaltova,Sonya Penkova / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 7/2018

The authors accept the thesis that the conception of ‘museum of participation’ is well-grounded and perspective by the standards of the building of modern museums. The main arguments are sought in the direction of social change and its reflection on the modern museum and pedagogical theory. The ideas of N.Simon are extensively represented and the points of intersection between them and the general perspective they give have been sought. Arguments are advanced regarding the need for: Change in the roles of museum workers and the audience; Change in the conception of museum educational content and the ways of its creation; Change in the methods applied in the different programs; Change in the forms in which the programs are implemented; Change in the conception, creation, contents and implementation of museum educational programs; Change in the concept about the results from the study in a museum environment and its assessment. The described characteristics are taken as landmarks for the design of modern and effective museum educational programs. On this basis a concretization of the work of the National Museum of Military History has been extensively presented in terms of main directions of work as well as concrete programs.

The Challenge of Achieving High Quality Non-formal Teaching in Community Settings

Author(s): Terry Price / Language(s): English Issue: 7/2018

This paper is written by a non-educational professional and draws upon considerable personal experience (and that of others) of designing and managing learning based projects in communities that rely almost exclusively on tutors to deliver non-formal courses to a diverse range of learners with widely different needs and prior experience of learning. In some ways this remains a widely neglected sector within education across many parts of Europe when compared with the formal teaching of adults and children in primary, secondary and tertiary settings despite arguably facing the greatest teaching challenges. The paper will reflect on the reality for learners, learning providers and tutors and focus on the demands these make upon tutors and their consequent support and professional development whilst contrasting the reality of investment by Government and agencies in recognising and resourcing these needs and positing alternative ways in which it may be more likely to occur.

Етноцентризмът и инерциите от миналото – сериозни проблеми в българската образователна система (етнопедагогически аспекти на основното и средното образование)

Author(s): Vesselin Tepavicharov / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 5/2018

In this article, the author presents some problematic areas of the Bulgarian educational system related to ethnocentrism and unforgettable inertia from the near and farther past. The author’s opinion is supported by materials from field ethnographic researches and some publications dealing with the issue under consideration. Ethnocentrism is represented in its negative side in some history lessons and also in the literature that do not take into account the feelings of Bulgarian citizens of Turkish ethnic origin and Muslim religious background. As a weakness of our educational system, the practical absence of materials referring to the history and culture of the minority communities in Bulgaria is mentioned. The text also shows that this is a weakness of the educational systems of European countries at all, which in turn hampers the integration of minority communities into societies of state-building European nations. As an opposition to ethnocentrism, the educational practice in Latin America has been mentioned, where racial, ethnic and religious harmony has been achieved through the study of community history and culture.

Inclusive education in Bulgaria is trying to make its way as part of the government politics backed with the relevant normative documents for the last twenty years. The transition from integration into inclusion is already a fact at the normative base and is still being slowly established in human consciousness and in the practice of kindergartens and schools. The full understanding and real accomplishment of inclusive practice is a process which should be supported by the professional psychological society. Bulgarian psychologists still unsurely walk forward, participate and impose their competence in the scope of inclusive education. The psychologists’ roles are many-handed and complicated. The report conceptualizes and discusses the main activities, roles and competences which the psychologists should own, participating into the process of inclusive education.

The ways of integration of children with hearing impairment in mainstream schools are the object of discussion in this article. The theory of multiple intelligence offers a solid argument in this direction regarding registering the learning style for each child and his/her inclusion in structured group activities that also stimulate social integration.

This paper attempts to put forward some problems of teaching in relation to cross-cultural communication. The introduction of cross-cultural issues in teaching is a logical consequence of the integrative tendencies which are getting more and more popular. The new circumstances require a different attitude towards the learners. They should be viewed as subjects of their own culture on the one hand, and as representatives of the foreign culture through the culture studied, on the other hand, the problem is discussed in terms of its cognitive, emotional and pragmatic dimensions.
