This quantitative descriptive study aimed to identify the influence of coaching communication on the relationship between feedback environment and self-efficacy of teaching. In particular, the objective of this study was to identify whether the coaching communication would be able to become a mediator in the relationship between feedback environment and self-efficacy of teaching. A total of 411 lecturers randomly selected from the five three polytechnics which successfully obtained an overall excellent performance including academic standards and quality management through the recognition of the polytechnic ratings. Data for this survey were collected through a questionnaire which was adapted from literature review (Steelman et al., 2004; Heslin et al., 2006; Tschannen-Moran and Hoy, 2001). The results of multiple regression analysis showed that feedback environment and coaching communication had positive and significant influence on self-efficacy of teaching. In addition, feedback environment also had an impact on all dimensions of coaching communication. Meanwhile coaching communication acts as a full mediator on the relationship between feedback environment and self-efficacy of teaching. In term of the implications, this study showed the role of the middle manager is extremely important in creating the feedback environment in the workplace in order to improve coaching communication performance.

The aim of this paper is to investigate the contribution of medical tourism in the economic and tourism development in Greece. For this purpose, a nationwide survey was carried out in 2012. The sample population consisted of executives of 5-star hotels across the country and members of the Hellenic Association of Professional Congress Organizers (HAPCO). Data was gathered by emailing a structured questionnaire to the executives of the abovementioned companies. Descriptive data analyses have been performed. According to our findings, the vast majority of members of 5-star hotels supports that medical tourism could contribute positively to the economic development of the region and to the development of tourism in the country. Majority of executives also believe that investments in medical tourism will be very helpful in attracting tourists and stimulating economic development. The finding of this research indicates that the medical tourism in Greece are perceived by the Greece hoteliers and congress organisers as an effective mean of tourism and economic growth which could facilitate the way out of economic crisis.

The purpose of this paper is to explore the possibilities offered by local e-commerce solutions to increase the competitiveness of local bakery stores. This study follows an inductive qualitative research guided by grounded theory approach. The web-based questionnaires were used to get opinions of bakery goods consumers and the management board of a bakery goods firm participated in this study, which was geographically limited to the bakery sector in Germany. The value of this study is in initiating the development of theory on benefits of local e-commerce. It introduces consumers as well as companies to a new dimension of distributing or purchasing products and therefore, should encourage both parties to make use of local e-commerce solutions.

The context for this research study is second generation South Asian businesspersons in the UK. South Asian businesspersons are over-represented in self-employment as compared to their white majority counterpart. The aim of this research is to examine the growth of South Asian businesses in the UK. Three core themes that emerge from the literature provide a framework for the research, namely, the impact of ‘push’ and ‘pull’ factors to the self-employment in the second generation South Asians; and reliance on co-ethnic accountants. The research approach was qualitative, and conducted over a period of six months. The research makes a contribution to the Network theory of immigrant ethnic minorities. On a practical level, exploring the second generation South Asians in Britain will enhance the understanding of marketers and professional service providers who might see South Asian businesses as an emerging and growing market. The paper ends with an agenda for future research.

The article investigates whether MA pedagogy students are prepared for teaching in the world of digital narratives that comprises of diversified media. The article presents a theoretical outline of the problem of digital natives and digital immigrants. The authors also present the results of research conducted in the spring of 2013 at one of Poznań’s institutions of higher education. The research reveals that future teachers frequently use media, especially computers and the web, but have incomplete knowledge as to the possible uses of those media in their work.

Public administration; to meet the basic expectations as citizens, provision of services to the citizens and in this context the right to use the available resources in the most efficient manner is a science based on understanding. Citizens of the public administration in terms of time requirements and their need for differentiation state is a result of the change, and this difference is still continuing. Both the implementation of government policy, but left both of delivering services to the citizens of repressive regimes prevailing in the first place, especially in the sense of a state policy to citizen centric services with the new harmonization laws and contemporary approach. Primitive human is an exemplary citizen who completely respects the rules of his/her own community and who is ready to obey them at any time. In the same way, following all the rules and restrictions determined by the tribe are accepted as axiom. Primitive human greatly respects own customs and traditions, automatically submits to orders. Everything is based on the fear of supernatural ideas and punishments, in addition to deep loyalty to “group feeling”. However, has there ever been any person -whether civilized or primitive - who followed the undesired, boring rules and taboos without having difficulties? The article presents and discusses a widely spread in the past and practiced inpresent day rite associated with the birth of the child. On one hand it draws its datafrom ethnographic sources (archival, literary and personally collected field material),presenting the custom in its traditional version, and on the other – on research conductedthrough the method of participant observation and semi-structured interviewsduring contemporary manifestations of this custom. Analyzing specific ritual elementsand focusing on gifts/presents received by the child, the author develops theidea that this custom gradually loses its characteristics as a rite of passage. Furthermore,the lack of information or its laic presentation and interpretation has resultedin the development and approbation of a „scenario“ of the custom, which leads to aprocess of deritualization and transformation so this custom becomes primarily a festivemoment, a party, a visit, an occasion for gatherings of people who, through theirpresence and especially through their gifts, support the new-born and his/her family.

The article draws on an empirical data from a study of 12 – 14-years old pupils. It focuses upon the nutrition behavior and its self-control in the context of Bulgarian compulsory secondary education. The study draws upon extensive data from a questionnaire survey (N = 343) with pupils which was conducted in three schools in the region of Smolyan. Drawing on the quantitative data, the article describes restrained eating behavior and its correlations with the weight of the pupils.
