Learning to swim is a specific work model in the teaching of physical education, which is especially true for children who have certain difficulties in psychomotor development. Experience has shown that children with Down Syndrome can be involved in this type of movement education, of course with adapted dynamics and methodology of learning basic movement activities in the water. One of the methods is the Halliwick concept of learning the basic elements of movement in water for people with disabilities (McMillan, 1997 - revised 2010). This method involves mental and physical adaptation to being in the water, relaxation, control of breathing, balance and ultimately independent movement in the water. The aim of this paper was to analyze the effectiveness of the Halliwick concept of training in swimming motor skills in water for children with Down Syndrome. The study was conducted on a sample of 10 subjects (5 girls and 5 boys), aged 9 ± 0.5years (children with Down Syndrome). The swimming program (Halliwick) lasted 12weeks (60 minutes per week). A set of 8 tests was used in the study to assess the level of mobility in water. T-test for dependent samples was used to analyze the results of initial and final testing. The results of the t-test indicate that after the implementation of the program there were statistically significant changes in all applied variables: SUV - independent entry into the water (p <.001); GRO- diving under water (p <.002); TRO - transverse rotation(p <.001); LRO - longitudinal rotation (p <.002); SLO - sagittal rotation (p <.001); PNS- floating on the abdomen (p <.002); SNG - jump into the water on his feet (p <.001); SKKV - independent movement on the water surface (p <.003). Based on the comparison of the results of the initial and final testing of the respondents, it is evident that the applied swimming model proved to be effective for all participants in the program. This confirms the allegations of similar research and concludes that the basic orientation of educational procedures in this area is changes in various characteristics of psychosomatic status, especially morphological, functional and motor abilities and traits and cognitive and conative functions involved in motor expression (Selimović et al. 2013). Based on the obtained research results,it can be concluded that the Halliwick model of swimming learning for children with Down Syndrome is very effective. Accordingly, there is a need for additional education of swimming coaches and physical education teachers for such and similar programs that are adapted to work with children who have certain difficulties in psychomotor development.

The aim of this study is to examine the development of sports management in our country within the historical process. Sports management has a concept integrity that includes different disciplines in the conceptual process dimension. While sports have been developing intertwined with people's lives throughout human history, it has also served different purposes throughout its development. During the development process of human history, the actions of people who learned to make and use vehicles were directed to transportation and transportation. Later, as some people learned to employ other people, they increased their own free time. As a social being, a person has devoted this free time to a number of activities that are the products of his own creativity. These activities, on the other hand, have mostly been oriented towards entertainment. These amusements are the basis of the sports organizations that are actively held in our country today, as well as all over the world. Thus, in those periods, sports were used for having fun as a leisure activity. Cultural, political and socioeconomic processes have also decided in history which of the basic movements in man's struggle with nature will be performed from sports, which are competitor simulations. The same processes have transformed individual free time into mass free time, while also massing sports and making it one of the most engaged activities and professions today.

When the scientific evaluation studies on organizational commitment levels are examined, it is seen that studies, studies and field research have been conducted at a level that will significantly eliminate the lack in the field at the local, regional and global levels related to sports management. As it is known, the purpose and scope of sports management is to find the most efficient use of the elements that make up sports management and the resources that make up these elements, and to base the studies that can be done about sports management on this basis. In other words, in short, it is to get more efficiency by using few people, little money, few materials, little time, little space. The main goal in sports management is to try to do the best without giving an opportunity to waste resources. Within this framework, the goals of each of the elements that make up management in sports are the same. However, the totality of these goals constitutes the overall goal of management. The goals of all elements are equally important from the point of view of management. Failure to achieve the goal in one of the goals may negatively affect the overall goal of the management. For this reason, it is vital to have realistic information about the administrations and practices in terms of the functionality and professionalism of sports management.

Doping – problem nieświadomego społeczeństwa i polityki międzynarodowej państw

Author(s): Aleksandra Pepłowska / Language(s): Polish Issue: 1/2022

The definition of doping in the World Anti-Doping Code is an important instrument of international politics. While implications are obvious for the professional athletes participating in Olympic Games, they remain vague for the broader society – the followers of the Olympic struggles. The article is an attempt to indicate the problem faced by society, international institutions and states, trying to pursue an effective anti-doping policy. It presents a comprehensive description of one of the largest doping scandals with the participation of the Russian authorities in 2013–2014 and the results of the author’s research on society’s knowledge of doping in sports. Public awareness of banned substances and methods may turn out to be crucial while assessing the actions of governments and international institutions. Society may have insufficient knowledge about doping and may be unaware of its role in politics on an international scale. An ani-doping policy is a part of state policy, so it impacts the way of benefiting physical culture which is one of the areas creating the public sector.

Fuzzy Logic Method for the Speed Estimation in All-Wheel Drive Electric Racing Vehicles

Fuzzy Logic Method for the Speed Estimation in All-Wheel Drive Electric Racing Vehicles

Author(s): Angelo Bonfitto,Stefano Feraco,Marco Rossini,Francesco Carlomagno / Language(s): English Issue: 2/2021

This paper presents a method for the vehicle speed estimation with a Fuzzy Logic based algorithm. The algorithm acquires the measurements of the yaw rate, steering angle, wheel velocities and exploits a set of five Fuzzy Logics dedicated to different driving conditions. The technique estimates the speed exploiting a weighted average of the contributions provided by the longitudinal acceleration and the credibility assigned by the Fuzzy Logics to the measurements of the wheels' speed. The method is experimentally evaluated on an all-wheel drive electric racing vehicle and is valid for the front and rear wheel drive configurations. The experimental validation is performed by comparing the obtained estimation with the result of computing the speed as the average of the linear velocity of the four wheels. A comparison to the integral of the vehicle acceleration over time is reported.

Author(s): Gordana Dobrijević,Slavko Alčaković / Language(s): English Issue: 1/2023

The aims of this study are to: (a) identify the most frequently used conflict management style; (b) determine the level of cohesion; and (c) examine the relationship between conflict and cohesion in interactive sports teams. The study was conducted on a sample of 205 professional sports players from interactive sports teams from Serbia (basketball, handball, water polo, volleyball, and football teams). The data was collected through the Rahim Organizational Conflict Inventory – II (ROCII – II) and the Group Environment Questionnaire (GEQ). In relation to all of the sports considered, the findings revealed high levels of all four dimensions of cohesion (Group Integration – Task, Group Integration – Social, Individual Attractions to the Group – Task, and Individual Attractions to the Group – Social). The study has shown a positive correlation between cohesion and the collaborative conflict management style, and a negative correlation between cohesion and the competing style. Cooperation proved to be the most frequently used conflict management style, and competing proved the least frequently used style in interactive sports teams.

In the commented judgment, the Provincial Administrative Court in Warsaw evaluated the possibility of applying the exemption specified in Article 21(1)(68) of the Personal Income Tax Act to competitions involving electronic games. The article analyses the judgment in the context of recognising a certain form of electronic gaming activity as sport within the meaning of the Sports Act. It is only when a competition is considered to be a competition in the field of sport then it is possible to apply an income tax exemption. In addition, the doubts raised by the doctrine of sports law concerning the legitimacy of including a legal definition of sport in the act have been mentioned. Finally, the consequences of recognising certain types of e-sports competitions for these activities have been determined, due to the fact that they have been equated with traditional sport, doing and organisation of which are regulated under the Sports Act.
