Author(s): Vihra Naydenova / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 1/2022

The study examines the topic of engagement and some key factors that influence it. The role of Learning and Development and how it affects engagement is discussed, as are different leadership styles. Leadership styles are described – liberal, democratic, and authoritarian, and the leadership styles in modern times: transformational, transactional, and charismatic, are included, as well as their influence and relationship with engagement. Research in information technology and manufacturing companies with over 230 respondents is presented. The analysis showed that Training and Development correlated positively with all three aspects of psychological engagement, with the strongest relationship with Engagement (.524; p<.001). This is explained by basic characteristics of Engagement such as a sense of work significance, enthusiasm, pride in work, inspiration, a feeling of being challenged by one’s work, and dedication to it. The results of the regression analysis showed that Learning and development opportunities combined with Working conditions explained about 24% of the total employee engagement. The results of correlation and regression analyses showed that in all three studied leadership styles had a positive interrelationship with commitment, with the highest correlation with the transformational management style (p<.001). Regression analysis looking for the influence of leadership management style on employee engagement showed that when leaders applied a transformational management style, this style had a significant positive impact on changes in engagement. Transformational management style explained 29% of engagement. On the other hand, liberal and transactional styles also showed a positive and significant influence. Author(s): Yuriy Pachkovskyy / Language(s): Polish Issue: 4/2014

In his article, the author analyses properties of consumption taking place in contemporary Ukraine in the face of new political and economic challenges. He also pays attention to such consumption components as the consumer taking into account their needs, preferences and personality characteristics as well as the household which under the present conditions is strongly affected by not only the macroeconomic factors but also socio-demographic and the factors of the stratification nature. A particular place in the article is assigned for an analysis of development of Internet commerce in the Ukrainian society. The author concludes that with their conservatism the Ukrainian consumer is more and more apt to master new Internet technologies in order to purchase goods and services online. The characteristic tendency is that the Ukrainian consumer in their consumer preferences becomes more and more similar to Europeans. And, due to the annexation of Crimea by Russia and its open aggression against Ukraine, there are growing patriotic tendencies in Ukrainians’ consumer behaviours and preferences aimed at the support for the national producer of goods and boycott of Russian goods.

Перфекционизъм и работохолизъм: многодименсионален характер и взаимосвързаност

Author(s): Albena Krumova,Plama Hristova / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 1/2020

The authors offer a new perspective on the relationship between perfectionism and workaholism. Based on existing research, an analysis has been conducted on the essence and specificities of both phenomena. Perfectionism is a concept which describes the people’s desire to be perfect and to exceed in their performance. It is not a unidimensional psychological construct and is not connected only to the personality structure, as it is socially mediated and manifests itself with respect to and in relation to others, especially the “significant others”. This phenomenon is multidimensional by nature and it is relevant not only to the initiative and prosperity of the individual, but it can be linked to a range of mental disorders and physical illnesses. Workaholism has a huge impact on individuals' achievements and success. This phenomenon, too, has both a positive and a negative side, and current research shows that even the negative consequences at the personal and organizational level are far more numerous than the positive ones. This paper draws a parallel between the two phenomena, discusses the relationship between them and clarifies their positive and negative impact on individual performance and group effectiveness.

Подготовка востребованных юристов в современных условиях (методологический аспект)

Author(s): I. I. Salihov,Irina Mihailovna Puchkova / Language(s): Russian Issue: 2/2018

The paper describes of the solution to the problem of training lawyers in the modern conditions by increasing their demand in the labor market. Through the analysis of the interrelation between the concepts of “professionalism”, “readiness for professional activity”, “professional competence”, the conditions and factors of increasing the demand for future lawyers have been singled out. The term “demand” with regard to its unclear meaning in relation to university graduates has been defined. Based on the analysis of competences that a graduate student should have, a contradiction has been revealed between the educational process, during which the main attention is paid to the development of certain skills and competences, and the requirements of employers. The model of the demand for professional specialists has been presented, and its components have been described. As a technology for training a highly demanded lawyer, the Professional Career Monitoring and Development Program has been proposed.

Познавателна сила и не-способност за свобода – Кантови трихотомии

Author(s): Ivaylo Dimitrov / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 4/2018

The paper sketches out an approach to an analysis of Kant’s specific notion of ‘Kraft’ based on the influxionist model of his Critical metaphysics. The point of reference of all provided sets of textual evidence is the triple division of the predicament ‘possibility’ outlined by Kant for his course on anthropology. My aim is to provide a sufficient reason to claim that this distinction between Fähigkeit, Vermögen, and Kraft exemplifies Kant’s ‘suspicious divisions in pure philosophy’and thus can be regarded as a synthetic partitioning of his Critical project. For this reason, I also contend that through the dynamic trichotomy in question we could recognize the ‘keystone of the whole edifice’of Kant’s philosophy.

Предпоставки за възникване на комуникативни бариери в социалната работа

Author(s): Anna Mihaylova / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 1/2022

Modern humanities pay special attention to the circumstances that create conditions for the emergence of insurmountable barriers and their specific impact on the relationship between professionals and their clients or relatives. The social environment is dynamic and there is a need not only to demonstrate good communication skills, but also to take flexible actions, to have the ability to assess external factors, without underestimating the individual characteristics of the participants in the interaction, to prevent problems and misunderstandings in the process of communication. The study of common barriers could greatly further the development of new methods or the enhancement of existing methods in social work.

Предпочитания на поколението, навлизащо на пазара на труда, към характеристиките на работата и организационните стимули

Author(s): Maria Karaivanova,Irina Zinovieva / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 1/2012

The generation entering the labor market attracts growing attention by both scholars of organizational behaviour and human resource management experts. The present study has exploratory nature since these matters are relatives less studied in Europe. We investigated the generation entering the labor market as compared to the older generation on a number of work attitudes and preferences. The focus of the present article is on the preferences towards three groups of organizational characteristics. Preferences concerning job characteristics cover autonomy in doing the work, task variety, task significance, work time flexibility, and social contacts in work settings. The perception of organizational stimuli is focused on learning and professional skill development, on the one hand, and promotion opportunities, on the other. The preferences about the work outcomes concern overall job satisfaction, readiness to leave the organization, and work-life balance. The results show marked differences in the preferences between the two generations. While both generations like autonomy, work time flexibility, and social contacts in the organization, the young are more concerned with the work-life balance and are less inclined to leave their current employer. Compared to the older generation, they are less interested in learning and professional skill development and even less in opportunities for promotion. In discussing the results, we draw attention to the implications of these results for human resource management and their translation into organizational policies.

Преход между ранни и късна зрялост в средата на живота

Author(s): George A. Madzharov / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 1/2013

In the middle of the life (35-45) each person focuses changes from where one is going to where one has been. People become concerned about their accomplishments - whether they have fulfilled their dreams. Aspects suppressed in early adulthood are reassessed. People begin notice physical declines and feel no longer young. For some this brings reconfirmation, for others turmoil and changes in career, relationships, other activities. Levinson’s and Sheehy’s description of adult life cycle stages are the more solid explanations nowadays.
