Author(s): Miroslava Petkova / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 1/2018

The development of modern school processes and successful problem solving requires a theoretical clarification and practical concretisation of all modern perceptions about the game and in particular about mobile play and its proper use as a means to improve the psychic qualities of pupils from the initial stage of primary education grade. The clever use of perceptions, thought, imagination, attention, memory and will in gameplay facilitates the absorption and improvement of various motorized actions. The aim of the present study is to establish and compare some psychic qualities of 9-year-old students from Veliko Tarnovo and Tryavna after applying a training model on mobile games.

Author(s): Dimitar Dimov / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 1/2018

We all know that in an active rest the recovery processes in our body go faster. But is this the case when the loads are submaximal, especially in sport like tennis? Thanks to the new technologies we were able to monitor what is the level of excess post-exercise oxygen consumption (EPOC) during the exercise itself as well as in the first few minutes after the recovery (the break between the games). We used 3 types of exercises that have a higher level of load than the one in real matches. We will show what are the levels in the beginning of the load, at its peak and from 1 to 5 minutes after its end. In this way, we will monitor how the recovery processes take place in the tennis player’s body.

Author(s): Beyza Şanal G Güngör,Nilüfer Koçtürk / Language(s): English Issue: 1/2023

School refusal is a problem area that can turn into difficult trouble for the family, school, and students by affecting children and adolescents' academic and psychosocial development. This scoping review aims to examine the effectiveness of interventions based on the cognitive behavioral therapy approach on children and adolescents experiencing school refusal. The study was carried out following the "Standards Used in Reporting of Systematic Compilation and Meta-Analysis Results." For this purpose, the databases of DergiPark, Google Scholar, PsycARTICLES, PubMed, TR Index, and Web of Science were searched without any year restriction. As a result of the search, 233 studies were reached, and according to the inclusion criteria, ten research articles were evaluated. According to the findings, cognitive-behavioral interventions applied to children with school refusal: cognitive restructuring (n = 10, 100%), exposure (n = 10, 100%), psychoeducation (n = 6, 60%), social skills training (n = 6, 60%), problem solving training (n = 4, 40%), relaxation training (n = 4, 40%) and homework (n = 4, 40%) are predominantly used techniques. In 80% of the studies, it was determined that interventions based on the cognitive behavioral therapy approach to school refusal were effective. Parental involvement was also included in 80% (n = 8) of the studies, and 100% had effective results. Cognitive behavioral interventions are effective on school refusal as a result of the studies reviewed.

Избрани непараметрични методи за обработка на статистическите резултати от емпирични педагогически изследвания

Author(s): Angel Slavchev / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 2/2015

Non-parametric methods in statistical studies have become prevalent due to their capacity to allow processing of data obtained from measurements, taken using a nominal or range scale. This is common in empirical pedagogical studies and determines their wide application. In the present article we discuss some popular methods which can be used in specific study conditions – when small or correlating samples are present or only one sample is available. Attached are tables to determine critical values and to assist the writing of conclusive statements.

The Concept of Parental Praise in Parenting

Author(s): Gülçin Karadeniz / Language(s): English Issue: 4/2023

Praise is stated as a good performance resource that can increase the individual's sense of competence and motivate their new learning. When the literature is examined, the importance of communication with the child in parenting is emphasized, especially the power of the words used by the parents. Parental praise is expressed as parents' repetition of the desired behaviors in children and giving feedback that will make them feel warm and sensitive with their words and behaviors in order to indicate the satisfaction felt towards them. Studies emphasize that parental praise is an important method in child development and a method that parents use very often. It is reported that many parents prefer to use praise as a tool to build self-confidence in their child. In terms of positive discipline, it is assumed that praise creates a reward value as a result of operant conditioning and can affect behavioral acquisition in the child's development. The type of parental praise plays an important role in how children form their self-image. It is in these early relationships that children first begin to feel capable, competent, and loved. Although praise is expressed as a source of motivation when it cannot be used beneficially, it can become harmful to the child when used incorrectly or excessively. At this point, the content of the praise is important. In this study, the concept of parental praise is discussed, the content of praise, which is seen as a reference to motivation, is examined and its benefits for child development are tried to be explained.

Езикови средства за представяне образа на имението в руския реминисцентен текст

Author(s): Lyudmila Karpenko / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 5/2023

The article analyzes the content structure and linguistic means of creating the image of the manor in the Russian-language text on the material of reminiscence character. Texts of different periods in which descriptions of the manor are revealed are analyzed. The work employs a complex approach combining elements of etymological, structural-semantic, contextual analysis. The study concludes that the conceptual core of the image of the manor has been preserved since ancient times: the manor is a place of the mastered world, a dwelling place. This meaning corresponds to the image of the manor in the reminiscences of Russian writers and memoirists. The text of the reminiscences of the XIX-XX centuries allows us to trace the updated semantic dominants: the transformation of the image of the manor over two centuries, the change of ideas about the order of things in the world, the destruction of the ideal image. The dynamics of the development of the image of the manor in the Russian literary text and individual-author semantic increments are revealed, as well as in the systematization of linguistic means of creating the image.

Author(s): Ilina Nacheva,Viktoriya Nedeva-Atanasova / Language(s): English Issue: 3/2023

The pace of modern life places the topic of life planning among the most challenging issues of the social sciences. Content analysis of 45 semi-structured calendar interviews outlines different models of planning in basic life trajectories such as choosing a place of residence (including migration plans), education and career development, decisions concerning intimate partnerships, parenting, and financial/ material achievements. On the basis of the analysis, the authors propose a 24-item Dominant Model of Life Planning Inventory extracted from the actual narratives of respondents. Data from a pilot and a nationally representative survey of Bulgarians aged 18-35 years (N=1200) is reported. Structured Dominant Model relates to optimistic expectations and has a negative correlation to risk propensity. The findings provide new perspective on the way young people approach their future and important life decision, and have implications both for psychological theory and practice.
