This paper is going to present a fragment of the analysis of Slobodan Šnajder’s metatheatrical play Gamllet (1987), which is to be read in along the line of Šnajder’s Hrvatski Faust (1981). While introducing the theoretical concept of the theatrical key image, which is influenced by the concept of the image by the Jewish-German art historian Aby Warburg, the paper will shed light on a specific theoretical framework to cultural analysis entangling both, production ; and reception-related aesthetic approaches towards cultural analysis.

O tome svjedoči cijeli kabinet figura: Ćorkan (“Ćorkan i Švabica”, 1921, Na Drini ćuprija, 1945), Mara (“Mara Milosnica”, 1926), Mile Prelac (“Mila i Prelac”, 1936), Anica (“Zlostavljanje”, 1946), Vitomir Tasović (“San i java pod Grabićem”, 1946), Siman (“Priča o kmetu Simanu”, 1948), Ibro (“Snopići”, 1948) itd.

Mnogobrojna čitanja Andrićevog djela nisu zaobišla i rodno, feminističko/a.

"Vila Slovinka", Juraj Baraković's poem, is a valuable contribution to the research and the establishment of the beginnings of Croatian ethnological perception. This work was written in the 16th century and it is marked by two different styles: the Renaissance and the Baroque. The author tries to confirm in a careful analysis her idea about older Croatian literature being a source of many pieces of information relevant for roots of the future science - ethnology. Baraković is, as well as his forerunners Zoranić and Hektorović, interested in ethnogenesis of the Croats. According to his education, he places the origins of his people in the ancient times. Baraković is the objective observer of his compatriots, life and customs, regardless of which social stratum they belong to. His characters are not "paper-made"-they are very alive, with all the human features. The poet is an excellent expert in folk poems, so that he includes them in his poem. As a good observer of social strata, he is completely aware of the value of customs, and therefore he also uses them in this work. The interesting part of this extensive poem is also Baraković's knowledge of history, his patriotism and the feeling for traditional heritage of his nation. Nevertheless, one thing must be kept in mind - this is all very far from the conscious scientific research, but it is still a big step towards.

This article contains the bibliography of the poems written on special occasions and dedicated to bishop Strossmayer, comprising the list of the first verses printed on the solemn occasion of the bishop’s ordainment (1850) up to the poems of condolences marking the bishop’s death and the sporadic verses from the end of the 1930s and the beginning of the 1940s, including the independently published works and occasional poems published in all the periodicals issued in this period. Based on the original research of the periodicals (Katolički list, Vrhbosna, Glasnik biskupija Bosanske i Sriemske, Strossmayerov koledar, Vienac, Prosvjeta, Hrvatsko kolo), along with the input from broad-spectrum bibliographies and special bibliographic reviews of this corpus (Srakić, Ćurić, Zovko), this bibliography -unlike the previous ones which were limited to either certain journals or to selected authorial contributions –provides the most complete bibliographic list of the occasional poems dedicated to bishop Strossmayer ever made.

Matija Antun and Josip Stipan Relković – father and son – one a military frontier officer fighting for the interest of the emperor, the other a priest serving in parishes of Slavonia, have both marked Slavonian literary and cultural history of the second half of the 18th century. Literary chronicles which contain only informative, selective and linear recollection that places chosen literary protagonists into anticipated compartments limited by poetic and ideological factors, stored Matija Antun in their memory as the great one. They only incidentally mention Josip Stipan as his great father’s heir. However, the purpose of this article is not to make an entire literary and historical revalorisation and the reversal of the existing hierarchical relationship between the two prominent members of the Relković family, but to inspire processes of creative reminiscence in order to bring both of them and their literary work back into our creative memory: by materializing ephemeral images of the experienced reality both Satir and Kućnik create room for reminiscence of the old Slavonia.

This paper is an analysis of two major translations of Mažuranić’s epic into German language, a former by Seeberger in 1864, and the latter by Kienberger in 1874. Although both the translators, having recognized the value and the significance of this work, tried to bring it closer to a German reader, yet, as the author concludes, these translations fail in presenting the typical atmosphere of the time and they lack the ambivalence of words and expressions as well as the temporal and local colorfulness.
