АКТУАЛИЗАЦИЯ КОНЦЕПТА ‘ПАМЯТЬ’ В СТАРООБРЯДЧЕСКОМ ВОЙНОВСКОМ СИНОДИКЕ

In the article updating the concept of ‘memory’ was analysed through its material expression in the text. The analytical material consisted of a special kind of religious literature, sinodik, which is an expression of remembrance about the dead and was used to mention them in prayers. With the application of frame analysis and statistic methods of research an artifi cial text was delineated, which is the main form of updating the concept of ‘memory’ in the Sinodik from Wojnowo. In turn, it allowed to differentiate a new subconcept from the latter one, i.e. mentioning the dead in prayers.

The Men by Victor Erofeev is an important voice for men’s studies. The writer originally describes social situation of a modern man. He analyzes it very precisely. In his essays he’s sometimes amusing, sometimes serious. He shows examples of men, which in world’s opinion are too weak, too sensitive, too kind. Presenting complexity of man’s soul, he focuses on emotions of men, their fears and dreams. He also denies stereotypes. Erofeev divides males into men and unyoung boys, complimenting these first and criticizing others.

The article offers an analysis of the use of the Gospel text in the sermons of Theophan Prokopovich. It became evident that Theophan Prokopovich made much less references to the New Testament in his published works than to the Old Testament, which may result from his greater adherence to the Law than to Grace. The Gospel word by Prokopovich becomes a source of abundant and multidimensional allusions, often distantly related to its original meaning. In his sermons, Prokopovich seemed a skilled orator and cunning politician rather than a theologian. Prokopovich used the Gospel word to glorify the authorities and to justify their deeds manifesting, thus, a true talent of philologist skilful in the art of eloquence.

Imperial Order and Local Variation: The Culture of Ghost in Early Imperial China

This paper proposes to provide an outline of the development of the concept of ghost in early Imperial China. I will first give a brief account of the emergence of a discourse on ghost in early China, then I will discuss the religious milieu of early imperial China, concentrating on both the establishment of the imperial order and official religious rituals, and the idea of ghost persisted in people's daily life that developed according to local traditions. I will examine how the official and the private idea of ghost interacted or overlapped with one another. Lastly, I will introduce the appearance of the literary ghost at the end of the Eastern Han, as a prelude to the Six Dynasty ghost literature.

The influences are due to the personal contacts of humanist poets and thinkers and due to the experience these people got in Poland and Hungary respectively. The literary interactions are manifested in various phenomena: translations, paraphrases, dedications, poems written on special occasions, and Polish and Hungarian topics.

Τροφώνιον. Lokalizowanie wyroczni Trofoniosa w Lebadei

The paper is a review of the ancient reports and moderns opinions on locating the oracle of Trophonius at Lebadeia (modern Livadeia), Boeotia, which had been operating between the 6th century B.C. and the 3rd century A.D. It presents argumentation for locating the Trophonion at the Castro hill, in the very place where nowadays there is a two-level church: the Agia Sophia chapel joined with the crypt of Santa Barbara. The text is accompanied by maps, pictures illustrating the particular places, and a corpus of ancient sources concerning Trophonius and his oracle.

Modern testaments are a reflection of the customs of the era in which the deceased lived. They contain information about family relationships and social relations of their authors. On the other hand, they are a separate literature genre, whose method comprises several basic elements, which are usually placed in the same structure. Last will of Jan "Sobiepan" Zamoyski and Józef Stanislaw na Dąbrowicy Firlej were chosen as examples of testaments. The aim of the article is to characterize last wills in terms of their content. Прологът на Disciplina Clericalis от Петрус Алфонси – няколко възможни паралела

The paper examines Disciplina Clericalis: a Medieval treatise from 12th century composed in Latin. In Disciplina Clericalis, the author – Petrus Afonsi – combines numerous stories, tales and proverbs of Eastern origin (both Hebrew and Arab). The book does not have an analogue in Western literature at that time and has been an inspiration for Western writers for centuries to come. The prologue of Disciplina Clericalis is where the voice of the author is most easily recognised. Petrus reaffirms himself in it as a Christian author and states the aims, purpose and origins of his book. The structure and topics of the prologue bear a surprising resemblance to the prologue of one of the most eminent philosophical treatises of medieval Jewish thought: the Book of Beliefs and Opinions by Saadia Gaon.

John Paul II’s speeches to commemorate the Saints Cyril and Methodius along with Bulgarians

This article analyzes the speeches prepared by John Paul II for the annual visits of Bulgarian delegations on the occasion of celebrations of the Saints Cyril and Methodius (around May 24th). The fourteen texts prepared for these visits together with his speeches during the Pope’s Apostolic Journey to Bulgaria in 2002 and during the presentations of letters of credence for Bulgarian Ambassadors to the Holy See present a very interesting and understudied material for a better analysis of the Pope’s Slavic, ecumenical and European ideas. The Pope sees this tradition as a continuation of politics of John XXIII and Paul VI.
