A Podemos és a baloldali populizmus

A Podemos és a baloldali populizmus

Author(s): Omar Hassan / Language(s): Hungarian Issue: 22/2017

This article examines the rise of Podemos in 2014 and its trajectory since then. Podemos was born right after the rise and fall of the Indignados movement, which was responding to the global economic crisis and subsequent austerity policies. Hassan argues that Podemos successfully avoided Indignados’ weaknesses, the traps of anti-political and anarchistic sentiments. The essay argues that Podemos’ political activity is more than an instinctive populism, as the party consciously and directly uses Ernesto Laclau and Chantal Mouffe’s post-Marxist theory of populism. However, Hassan formulates a fundamental criticism of both Laclau and Mouffe’s theory and of the politics of Podemos. As he follows the political trajectory of Podemos from 2014 to 2016, Hassan reveals that the party’s politics based on the theory of populism gave up its anti-capitalist stance, weakened its own internal democracy and consequently detached the party structure from the mass movement.

„Az olaszok nevében.” Silvio Berlusconi és Giuseppe Grillo politikai karrierjének kezdete

Author(s): Sára Lafferton / Language(s): Hungarian Issue: 22/2017

In this paper I study how populism gained political weight in Italy in the past decades. I argue, partly in opposition to rationalist political science, that the underlying logic of populism is intelligible, and that ultimately, this logic is the articulation of the complex phenomenon in which the realm of politics stops reflecting the social realm. I address this problem through the study of the early political careers of the four times Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi and the Italian politician appearing in the second half of the 2000s Giuseppe Grillo. First, I reconstruct the political and social background in relation to what the two paths become meaningful. Then, I briefly compare and contrast the mainstream and the leftist literature on populism, according to the following points: their approaches to the concept of populism; the modus operandi of the populist leader; the exact context that animates populism; and the terms in which the relation between populism and democracy can be understood. Finally, using the theoretical tools of the leftist literature on populism, I analyse the context in which the two politicians started their career, the politics they argued in favour of and the democracy they proposed. I finish my argument by concluding that if we take the crisis articulated by the populist logic seriously, we must adjust the realm of politics according to the needs of the social realm, and not the other way around.

Илюстриктурата като некласически философски идиом: перспективи и проекции

Author(s): Kristian Enchev / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 3/2018

In this text-experiment I will try to think in a new direction the proximity of illustricture with the figurology of Boyan Manchev. Illustricture is a dynamic mode of work of the introduced here concept figure-form (dynamized form), through which it becomes understandable why and how a figurative potentiality can evolve to a conceptual opportunity. Figurativеness can also be thought as one unlocking its own field of potentiality and self-actualizing forceful virtuality. The non-classical hypothesis of that experiment is: the being’s act of affirmation of linguistic meanings illustricturatively creates (unpredictable) essences, as long as it contains within itself repetitive structure charged with deviation.

The Decision-Making Processes Teachers Go through in their Attempts to Treat Learners’ Oral Errors and Learners’ Perspective on Oral Error Treatment

Author(s): Derya Döner Yılmaz,Erkan Yılmaz / Language(s): English Issue: 5/2018

Making mistakes is a crucial part of human learning. Together with mistakes, misjudgements, miscalculations and wrong assumptions are indispensable aspects of learning skills and acquiring information. The mistakes one makes are gradually reduced as one learns from those mistakes. The provision of feedback from the environment facilitates the eventual learning. In this respect, language learning is no exception. The points of departure for the present study was to see whether the basic options and features in one such model (Long cited in Allwright and Bailey, 1991) were viable modes of error correction in the classroom. A questionnaire was prepared based on Long’s model in an attempt to see if the same decision-making process was followed by teachers in actual learning situations. Likewise, a similar study was also prepared to have an insight into the students’ perspective on error correction. The results of the present study (teachers’ responses in particular) tend to confirm the viability of Long’s model. In conclusion, it has been revealed that it is the teachers’ task to value their students’ attempts to improve themselves on the interlanguage continuum, be sensitive and receptive to their linguistic output and try his/her best to utilize the optimum way of dealing with their errors.

Проектът „Руски индекс за научно цитиране“ и българските изследователи

Author(s): Asen Kozhukharov,Viktor Glukhov / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 5/2018

The goal of the article is to reveal the extent of RSCI reflection of the Bulgarian publications/references in two aspects: the Bulgarian-language articles and the Bulgarian-language books. The comparative analysis was used in the study. It has been established that the Cyrillic alphabet and the Bulgarian language is not an obstacle to Russian Science Citation Index; it successfully indexes publications/references in Bulgarian. This fact indicates that Russian Science Citation Index is able to give an effective contribution to refine results of Bulgarian academic organizations ranking.

Имобилизиране на фруктозил-трансфераза върху композитни филми от полимлечна киселина, ксантан и хитозан

Author(s): Ilia Iliev,Tonka Vasileva,Veselin Bivolarski,Asya Petrova Viraneva,Ivan Bodurov,Maria Marudova,Temenuzhka Yovcheva / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 5/2018

Fructosyltransferases catalyze the synthesis of Levan type polysaccharides in the presence of sucrose in the reaction medium. In the presence of acceptors (maltose, isomaltose, lactose, fructose) and fructose donor sucrose, they synthesize oligosaccharides with a degree of polymerization DP 3 - 5 monosaccharide residues that have prebiotic potential. In the present study, the fructosyltransferase from Leuconostoc mesenteroides Lm17 strain is immobilized on a multilayer polysaccharide structure composed of chitosan and xanthan. The layers were applied onto pre-loaded corn root cans of polylactic acid. The resulting composite films were investigated for the degree of immobilization of the enzyme and the ability to synthesize fructan on the surface of the film. The activity of immobilized enzyme film was found 0.73 U/mg in the resulting films. In carrying out an enzymatic reaction in the presence of over 10 % sucrose, a hydrolysis and transferase reaction was established by which a polysaccharide was synthesized in both the solution and the membrane. Surface morphology of multilayer films is investigated using the Nanosurf Flex AFM. The values of the average roughness were obtained. It is found that it increases with increasing number of layers, regardless of their sequence.

On the Possibility to Analyze Ambient Noise Recoeded by a Mobile Device Through the H / V Spectral Ratio Technique

Author(s): Dragomir Gospodinov,Delko Zlatanski,Boyko Ranguelov,Alexander Kandilarov / Language(s): English Issue: 5/2018

The analysis of the spectral properties of ambient seismic noise has recently turned to be a promising approach in the study of site effects impact on seismic hazard. In the present paper we present some results from our investigation on the possibility to use mobile devices to record analyze seismic noise through the examination of the horizontal to vertical (H/V) spectral ratio. The results were compared to the ones, obtained by the application of professional seismological equipment, a velocimeter of type GBV-316 of the GEOSIG company. Some divergence of the results from the mobile device and those from GBV-316 were identified, revealing that the application of a mobile device in this case is questionable.

The Effect of Hydrocollids Concentration on the Physical Properties of Gluten-Free Cake

Author(s): D. Iserliyska,Gabor Ivan Zsivanovits,Maria Marudova / Language(s): English Issue: 5/2018

In the present study the influence of hydrocolloids addition at different concentration (0.45, 0.9 and 1.5 %) to gluten-free cakes was studies and the quality of cakes was investigated. Based on investigation results it was found that, with the addition of xanthan – guar gum blend at concentrations 1.5 % (50:50 ratio) to the rice flour favorable results were achieved, represented by increased specific volume, lower loss of weight and decreased hardness of the products if compared to the control. The results from the sensory test indicated that all of the sample formulations produced high consumer acceptance rating (x>6). Additionally the use of xanthan – guar gum blend (1.5 %) as well as xanthan gum (0.9 %) showed a trend to retard the staling of rice cakes in the interval between 24 and 96 hour of the storage. The enthalpy values of cakes with hydrocolloids added were lower than the control sample for the whole period of 140 h of storage.

Distribution of Lamb Waves in AlScN Resonator Structures

Author(s): Boris Nedyalkov,Evgenia Valcheva / Language(s): English Issue: 5/2018

In this paper we present the results of a simulated model of resonator device comprised of AlScN/6H-SiC piezo-layers for use in RF electronic circuits. The device uses the piezoelectric effect and Al electrode gratings to generate Lamb waves with great frequencies. The small mechanical impedance, micrometric size and good electromechanical characteristics make it especially suited for the manufacturing of RF band-pass filters. Moreover, because of the mechanics of the Lamb Wave Resonator (LWR) device, it can allow for multiple resonant frequencies to be used with the same configuration. Here we show the basic characteristics of one such system using Al0,91Sc0,09N piezo-active layer and base layer from hexagonal SiC.

Изследователски практикум

Author(s): Ivelina Dimitrova,Gosho Goev,Savina Georgieva,T. Tsanova,L. Ivanova,Borislav Georgiev / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 5/2018

The work presents an approach in which an experimental assignment is carried out similarly to a scientific study in the frames of a student lab course. The approach aims to meet the students with the basic stages in experimental studies and to instill in them the excitement of shared “discoveries”. It was first tested in the frames of a General physics lab course with 76 freshman students majoring in Molecular biology. In contrast to classical labs, the proposed approach involved: application of the scientific method, selecting an applicable experimental method, out-of-class teamwork, drawing conclusions from the obtained results and presenting the results in public. The selected assignments can be completed with common materials, simple equipment and smartphone applications. The current work summarizes the observation of the involved faculty and the results from a survey among the students. The stages that the students had most difficulty with were identified as the following: setting up a hypothesis, modeling the physical processes, processing the results and drawing conclusions from them, and cooperating with team members. It was concluded that the proposed educational approach can be inspiring and useful for the development of the students’ critical thinking and creativity. Furthermore, it is widely applicable to students at different levels of competence.

Диахронно развитие и същност на съвременните наклонения в индоевропейските езици

Author(s): Bilyana Mihaylova,Nikola Krastev / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 5/2018

The purpose of this article is to summarize what has been achievedover the past 100 years in the field of reconstruction of the system of the Indo-European mood and to present the most probable origin and development of moods in the contemporary Indo-European languages. As methodological basis of the comparative-historical approach was used the theoryof Bybee et al. (1994) for the diachronic development of modal systems from agent-oriented modality through speaking-oriented or epistemic to subordinate modality. This focus on the purpose and the subject of the study allows the authors to conclude that in the Indo-European proto-language we are already observing a state of speaker-oriented modality and that the transition from speaker-oriented to subordinate modality with the syntactic and optative functions of the subjunctive is in fact the result of the change of the linguistic type of the Indo-European languages from active to nominative. Still, though in modern IE languages the predominant modal system is the subordinate one, the speaker-oriented roots of this subordination can be traced back to a number of phenomena such as the cupitive functions of the subjunctive, some injunctive forms of the imperative, the modal uses of the future, of the past tense and the conditional, and many others.

Използване на поетични текстове в съвременните учебни системи по испански език

Author(s): Veneta Sirakova / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 5/2018

After abolishing the grammar-translation method in foreign language teaching, the use of poetry in Spanish language textbooks is considerably restricted. Despite the efforts of modern Spanish academics to rehabilitate it theoretically as a valuable didactic tool in the acquisition of principal language skills, the authors of recent Spanish language textbooks (for speakers of other languages) continue to accord it a secondary function, to apply it as illustrative material or to totally ignore it. The present article sets the aim of demonstrating the main tendencies in using poetic texts in Spanish language teaching on the basis of a comparative analysis of a considerable corpus of textbooks, published and edited after 2000.
