Author(s): Raya Dimitrova / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 6/2018

The paper discusses the concept of children’s participation in law conflict within chimeric groups such as deviant subcultures as a result of the various factor influence and reasons associated with the main social institutions. The substance of the issue is determined by the growing forms of group aggression, group criminality and violence among adolescents that go beyond frames of school institutions and occupy the public domain. The target of the survey are minors placed in a correctional educational institution - boarding school. These children are in conflict with the law where social behavior is expressed in different forms of deviant and delinquent behavior. Their manifestations are not just aggressive, they are related to a high degree of public risk because they carry out acts punishable by law. The research interest is related to the specification of the determinants for inclusion in the chimeric groups and their influence on the subsequent behavior of adolescents.

Contemporary human beings are a solid, sometimes ambivalent, combination of constructive and destructive powers. It focuses on the darkest, unsuspected places of our mind and soul whom not everyone is ready to deal with.

Narrating Disability, Trauma and Pain: The Doing and Undoing of the Self in Language

Author(s): Kurt Borg / Language(s): English Issue: 01/2018

This article analyses themes from Christina Crosby’s disability memoir A Body, Undone: Living On after Great Pain through the philosophical works of Judith Butler. Both Crosby and Butler propose complementary ideas on corporeal vulnerability, the precariousness of life, relationality and interdependence. Crosby’s memoir provides a critique of dominant disability discourses that affect the social formation and reception of disability narratives, such as narratives that unilaterally characterize disabled subjects as strong, resilient and autonomous while bracketing the traumatic dimension of disability out of the narrative. Crosby’s book is discussed as a rich disability memoir that, while it firmly presents an account of living on, accounts for debilitating physical pain, the traumatic aspect of disability and the intense grief for lost bodily functions, abilities and life possibilities. Reflecting also on the socio-political character of disability narratives, the article considers how and why certain narratives can function critically and motivate a critical analysis of contemporary representations of disabled people. Approaching philosophically Crosby’s memoir through Butler’s work enables a wide-ranging consideration of topics found in the memoir such as the therapeutic nature of writing, narrative identity and its difficulties, the relations between disability studies and trauma theory, the political import of the personal and the ethico-political significance of interdependence.

Българската обичайна система на наследяване и обичайните системи на наследяване във Франция и на мароканските бербери − опит за сравнение

Author(s): Kamen Dontchev / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 4/2018

The article is an attempt to compare the customary law system of inheritance in the Bulgarian rural traditional society with that of France. A parallel is made with the customary law system of the Berbers in Morocco as well. The significant difference between the Bulgarian and the French customary law systems of inheritance is that the first one is uniform as a whole, while in the second case is characterized by the existence of different types of customary law systems of inheritance in various regions of the country.Another important benchmark for the comparative analysis is the fact that according to the Bulgarian customary law system of inheritance only the sons have the right to inherit the estate of the deceased. It is pointed out that this peculiarity of the system of inheritance is also characteristic of some areas in France and the reasons for this are discussed. The principle of inheritance in question is also characteristic of the customary law of the Moroccan Berbers – local, pre-Arabic population of Morocco. In support of this, some information is given about their customary law of inheritance.

A Concept for Inclusive Physical Education Training Program for Future Pre-School and Primary-School Teachers

Author(s): Galena Terzieva / Language(s): English Issue: 5/2019

The adoption of new normative documents in the field of education in Bulgaria determines the inclusion of children with special educational needs in general education schools. The significant and integral role which physical education plays in the educational process poses the question of the inclusion of children with impairments in motor activity training as well. Teachers implementing it contribute greatly to its positive effects. The main features of physical education include active motor activity and the related physical workload. In order for them to be adapted successfully to the specific needs of children with different disabilities, more specialized training is required. The analysis of the curricula of the faculties of education in Bulgaria shows that future pre-school and primary school teachers who will be responsible for the physical education of children in kindergartens and primary schools respectively do not receive appropriate training in adaptive physical education. The aim of this article is to present a concept for introducing a training programme on “Motor Activity Training and Inclusive Physical Education”, intended for students of the specialty Preschool and Primary School Education at the Faculty of Education, Trakia University, Bulgaria.

Le dialogue pédagogique en tant qu’outil de la médiation cognitive en classe de langue. Cas des élèves en difficulté d’apprentissage

Author(s): Jolanta Sujecka-Zając / Language(s): French Issue: 4/2016

We would like to propose in this article an innovative approach to dialogue in a language class going beyond its usual function of only being a means to develop the communicative competence in a foreign language. From our point of view, the dialogue of an educational and formative type allows to give better tools of thinking to the learner and to remedy to his deficits in his learning ability, this through exchange around ways of learning and his mental processes. In the theoretical framework thus defined are concepts that have proven themselves in different educational contexts: the pedagogical dialogue of Antoine de La Garanderie, the explication interview of Pierre Vermersch and the cognitive interview aiming at Learning of Michael Perraudeau and Maria Pagoni. On the basis of these analyses, we conducted our research that aims to demonstrate the value of dialogue in a language class, especially for students with learning difficulties. In the article we present the main lines of this reflection and examples of dialogues with Polish students in a school in Warsaw.

Съотнасяне изпълненията на задачите за когнитивно развитие на Жан Пиаже с показателя за умствена възраст Бине-Търман при ученици със специални образователни потребности

Author(s): Milen Zamfirov / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 6/2019

The paper presents a correlation model based upon Piaget’s phenomena and Binet-Terman’s intelligence test. There are approaches pointed out in the paper, which can determine an individual’s mental age via conducting J. Piaget’s experiments as well as vice versa – via determining Piaget’s stage the IQ can be specified. The suggested Model would allow the mainstream teacher as well as the team of experts assisting personality development in the school, to easily orientate in the abilities a student with special educational needs has and to design his/her individual programs so that they would correspond to his/her development.

Фокус групата като метод при оценяване на приложението на Закона за защита от домашно насилие

Author(s): Georgi Dimitrov / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 4/2019

Focus groups are appropriate method for studying the practices of preventing domestic violence at a regional level. The method provides a reflexive space for identification of collective insights in the course of group interactions and preservation and registration of the implicit individual preferences of participants in the group discussion. Focus groups are organized in order to study the relationships of the target groups with the institutions in Razgrad district and the extent of their involvement in the process of prevention of domestic violence. Sharing of own experiences and ideas and the interactive comparison of the viewpoints of the participants that arise during group interactions in thematic focus groups, provide a more complete picture of the phenomena studied. The dynamics of symbolic interactions and the social exchange of information in the group process of the focus group reveals additional, subdivided views on the content and validity of the empirical data collected by this method. The focus groups do not apply the survey-specific pressures for a structured response to the moderator’s questions, which allows a higher level of authentic sharing and understanding of the experiences, attitudes, practices and relationships presented.

Risk Factors for Early School Leaving in Bulgaria

Author(s): Petar Valkov,Elena Lavrentsova / Language(s): English Issue: 7/2019

In the paper attention is drawn to the phenomenon of early school leaving, which is regarded through the prism of the stratification mechanisms in the field of secondary school education in Bulgaria. A special emphasis is placed on educational segregation, related to a widening of the gap between different types of Bulgarian schools. The authors present the data of an empirical study on the opinions of secondary school students in Bulgaria about the early school leaving phenomenon, attempting to highlight a number of risk determinants that trigger school failure as a consequence of certain life and educational trajectories. It is emphasized that both a profound understanding of the risk factors, associated with early school leaving, and potential remedies should be considered in the context of a much broader socio-structural framework and a horizon of sociocultural meanings, including those, related to ethnicity. The paper concludes with a description of some main tools for prevention within the socio-existential perspective.
