Taking into consideration that the observed vernaculars belong to the „main dialectal type” by their essential characteristics, the variations are a result of their geographical and linguistic inferiority, as well as them being under the influence of the foreign languages. The non-Slavic languages, Romanian and Russian, have a profound effect on the Serbian vernaculars. In turn, the developmental processes of these vernaculars differ from those of the centralized speech. This phenomenon is especially noticeable in the vernaculars of the Serbian enclaves.
