Regional dialect around the Van lake in Turkey

Summary/Abstract: Since Van Lake region has had a long historical background starting from Seljuk Turks, Van has been having rich oral culture, diglossic communities, and linguistics groups without having a break. During all this time, oral culture has been connected to the Old Turkish and Middle Turkish which let region people speak both dialects within the region. In this paper, Van Lake Dialect will be examined by verbal expressions, grammatical differences, statements and sentences later on the differences between registered Turkish language and Van Lake Dialect will be analyzed.
