The work presented on this occasion maintains a classic approach to a site monograph, but the interdisciplinary studies conducted aim to extract a series of novel and valuable archaeological data. After a brief history of the research (Chapter I), which outlines the main stages of the settlement’s investigation, the author addresses various aspects of the natural environment (Chapter II). In addition to establishing a geographical framework for the settlement, the study provides a concise discussion of the topographic data of Stoicani-Aldeni-type settlements, accompanied by topographic maps marking some of these sites. Chapter III analyzes the settlement’s habitation structures, placing them within the broader context of the period and the region.

This review critically examines the book titled "Recalling Fieldwork: People, Places, and Encounters," edited by Raluca Mateoc and François Rüegg. The book presents an invaluable collection of memories shared by prominent anthropologists, who utilize it as a platform for meta-discursive analysis of their professional development and the pivotal role of fieldwork in their research endeavors. This review meticulously engages with the diverse anthropological narratives presented within the book, scrutinizing the researcher- source relationships and unveiling potential latent political underpinnings inherent to this scholarly undertaking. By closely examining the rich content of the book, this review contributes to a deeper understanding of the intricate interplay between personal experiences, academic growth, and the broader socio-political contexts that shape the discipline of anthropology.

In 2014, Lavinia-Ileana Geambei published a dense, well-argued, and brilliantly structured volume of studies on six Romanian poets of the interwar period with Universitaria, Craiova. This is not a literary history book, although it includes elements related to this field, but rather, in our view, a journey marked by the two characteristics that the author identifies, analyzes, and highlights in the studied poets: tradition and modernity. As for the corpus, it includes the essential figures Ion Pillat, Vasile Voiculescu, and Tudor Arghezi, along with the perhaps lesser-known poets for non-specialists, Barbu Fundoianu (Benjamin Fondane) and Adrian Maniu.
