Ratownictwo wodne w Polsce – wstęp do analizy krytycznej

Author(s): Iwona Michniewicz / Language(s): Polish Issue: 2/2018

Water rescue in Poland is one of our country’s obligations without a clear financing scheme. The organization and financing of rescue operations have been assigned to managers and entities authorized to perform rescue operations. However the range of tasks combined with the cost associated with these tasks result in a situation in which each party plays its own show –- the illusorily fulfillment of roles. The state imitates providing security to citizens, the authorized entities and managers simulate that they fulfill all obligations, and the rescuers pretend to act. This is because the current regulations are far from perfect and the lack of comprehensive supervision over this area of life as well as due funding (adequate to the imposed tasks) deepens the inefficiency of the entire system every day.

With Applications for More Effective Cooperation Between the Police and Nonprofit Organisations and Improvement of the Professional Achievements of the Police

Author(s): Edit Elekes / Language(s): English Issue: 3-4/2008

Becoming an effective and successful organisation has several components. The first component is the above-mentioned management taking into consideration and sensitively reacting to the demands determined by the population and the society for the organisation, in the present case the Police. (At the same time, this management style also means the person of the manager.) Another component may be the effort for excellent performance, rooted in the organisational culture. And this list could be continued; however, besides the cost attitude, I would point out effective co-operation, as a token of successfulness of organisations.

Społeczne postrzeganie osób z niepełnosprawnością intelektualną

Społeczne postrzeganie osób z niepełnosprawnością intelektualną

Author(s): Joanna Leśniak / Language(s): Polish Issue: 1/2020

The knowledge about mentally disabled people is usually learned by healthy people from parents, friends and some mes from teachers. The opinion on the mentally disabled forms through observations, stories about difficulties and often by accidental experiences. It results in the image of a disable person as someone, who is gauche and dependent. The social perception of people with mental disability, in comparison to social perception of those with physical disability, causes problems as it includes negative attitudes and prejudice. In order to avoid such attitudes healthy children should integrate with disabled, sick and different children in natural social environment. The experience of any kind of “otherness”, competent information on disability and other dysfunctions as well as openness to people may help to reduce harmful stereotypes. It is very important to support social awareness of the reasons why mental disability exists and how mentally disabled people struggle with life. The rise of such awareness may trigger the changes in perception of the disabled and improve their living standards.

Towards an AI-Enhanced sustainable health system: inferences from healthcare management research

Towards an AI-Enhanced sustainable health system: inferences from healthcare management research

Author(s): Hafize Nurgül Durmuş Şenyapar / Language(s): English Issue: 2/2023

Health management literature is critical in facilitating effective leadership and management in the health sector by imparting the knowledge and understanding required in health service planning, organization, coordination, and management. Through an exhaustive bibliometric examination, the current state of the “healthcare management” literature was assessed in this study, illuminating potential future developments in the field. By utilizing an extensive compilation of articles from the Web of Science (WoS) database, this study endeavors to scrutinize patterns in scientific inquiry, assess advancements made on subjects, and underscore significant fields of cooperation and scholarly input. An in-depth, extensive analysis revealed that three decades of research yielded over 46,000 publications; the number of publications has increased by six, particularly in the last ten years, and the United States and the United Kingdom produced most of the publications. Analysis identifying influential journals and authors in the field revealed that it is the focus of attention of health professionals, especially nurses. Although the COVID-19 pandemic has been recognized as the primary public health concern, scholarly attention has shifted towards a sustainable health system incorporating technology-supported preventive health practices and intelligence. To thoroughly comprehend the theoretical progression of health management research, its capacity to tackle worldwide issues, and its growth potential, the study’s findings are a valuable scholarly resource that offers practitioners, policymakers, and researchers a comprehensive overview.
