Трябва да се борим за правата на детето – педагогическите идеи на Корчак от перспективата на Омбудсмана по правата на детето

Author(s): Marek Michalak / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 9/2018

Responsibility today has become the main educational, social, cultural and political problem. Undoubtedly, the period of a special development of the child protection dates from XX century and continues until now. In the beginning, there were appeals and innovatory views on the education of children of the Swedish pedagogue and feminist Ellen Key, who proclaimed XX century as a “century of the child”. After that came the ideas, the creative work and mainly the practical activity of Janusz Korczak. When he was alive Korczak spoke on the topic of children`s protection: “side by side to the defender that knows paragraphs of the written laws, I insist to assign a place to the educator that knows the secrets of unwritten laws” – and by that as announcing the establishment of the institution ombudsman of human rights. Children`s rights are our common responsibility – of the government, the observing institutions, scientists, non-governmental activists, teachers, educators. We should fight for them, to insist, so we would not stand one day in front of the dilemma that Irena Sendlerowa posed, one of the greatest among us, who was rewarded in 2007 with the Medal of the Smile from children themselves: “And what the world did? The Great powers? The world was silent! And silence sometimes means to agree with what is happening”.

Януш Kорчак – класик на европейската педагогика на детството, предвестник на правата на детето

Author(s): Barbara Smolińska-Theiss / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 9/2018

Children`s rights are not only with a legal but also with a pedagogical character. They take into account not only children`s specifics but they also bear educational messages. Janusz Korczak who is considered as a herald of the children`s rights has special merits in this respect. His idea regarding the children and childhood, which was exposed almost one hundred years ago, is reinvented again today and it is decoded as “pedagogical spirit” of the Convention of the rights of the child.

The current article is an experience that is more of a concern and responsibility. An attempt has been made to outline additional rows in the interdisciplinary standard “Citizenship Education”. Such issues related to the prevention of the student's personality about threats such as terrorism, crime, aggression, drugs and others. The purpose of the exhibition is to extend the educational background of pedagogical specialists so that pedagogical teams organize such training. To outline the pedagogical projections of a future preventive education in the Bulgarian school. Theoretical learning modules are presented to expand the foundation of pedagogical competence. State Education Standard is seen as an interdisciplinary complex; Technologically it is also approached interdisciplinary – through an interdisciplinary pedagogical team; Interdisciplinary themes, methods and technologies.

Action Research in Higher Education Fostering Transition toward a Sustainable Economy: Trainings in Ecopreneurship at Three Bulgarian Universities

Author(s): Anna Varbanova / Language(s): English Issue: 2/2019

This paper discusses the possibilities for higher education (HE) policies to be strategically assured upon the triple helix between university, local authorities and businesses providing the proper social context as a resource for authentic educational content and learning environment. The study is based on the application of Action Re¬search methodology in the framework of the applied project of the Institute for the Study of Societies and Knowledge at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, on the example of ecopreneurship training, supported by the German Federal Environmental Foundation, as an experiment regarding our central research question: How is it possible to foster the transition toward sustainable economy through education, on the example of such trans¬disciplinary course in higher education? In particular, we involve different stakeholders (university teachers, students, university administration and green businesses) in order to improve educational outcomes, and especially, to increase the level of competence of academic staff and students to teach, learn, explore, and transfer new fields of knowl¬edge, experience, and attitude toward sustainable economy. We operationalize that through competencies (with their nuclei – knowledge, skills, and attitudes) as a didacti¬cal instrument. During the process our cases reveal the need of transdisciplinary learn¬ing through especially designed close to ‘real-world’ settings. Thus, creating free space for experimentation and mutual learning we plan on achievable and product-oriented outcomes, which gives confidence and motivation for further learning and involvement in the field of sustainable economy.

Dominant Playing Styles in an Authorial Role-Playing Game in Different Age Groups

Author(s): Ewa Jurczyk-Romanowska,Ilona Zakowicz / Language(s): English Issue: 1/2019

The aim of the research is to investigate the correlation between age and playing styles in an authorial role-playing game. In the designed research the authors have assumed the playing styles defined by Richard Bartle, that is: the socializer, the killer, the achiever, the explorer. The research subjects came from three age groups: university students (18-25), corporate workers (35-50) and seniors (65+). The research was conducted with the use of the quantitative method on the basis of the playing styles observation sheet developed in accordance with the operationalization of Bartle’s taxonomy. Throughout the conducted observations one could observe clear behaviours, adequate with the operationalized taxonomy of Bartle. The dominant type in every age group was the socialiser, on the other hand only a few behaviours were associated with the killer type. In every age category there was a specific pattern of the observed behaviours, which are possible to explain by comparison to the everyday activities of the investigated age groups. Knowledge about the correlation between age and playing style could be useful for game creators and educators, who want to use the game as an educational method.

„Стратегическо мислене – метапознание – рефлексия“в практическото обучение на студенти педагози

Author(s): Nikolay Tsankov,Veska Guviiska / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 2/2016

The paper explores the relation strategic thinking – metacognition –reflection in the context of the professional training programs of education majors. It revisits the idea of strategic thinking championed by an array of philosophersfrom Immanuel Kant through John Dewy to Martin Covington, who foregroundsthe issue from the point of view of education and student success. The latter is feasible only if clear criteria are available to the student as regards his/her capabilities, the complexity of the task and the resources employed in its resolution. In principle, this is a process of metacognition inasmuch as the student evaluates his/her own reasoning and professional reflection developed in the shape of self observation and self-cognition. Our assumption is that the most important condition for the utilization and realization of this relation is the language behavior of the student wherein language and idea, reasoning and questioning, doubt and argument validation coincide. The analysis is developed within the framework of Donald Davidson’s conception of reiterating the relation between language and act and that between language and mental processes as a network of convictions, attitudes and expectations.

The relations between the organization, self-organization and reflexion are examined. The experimental work shows the positive effect of the combined use of the activities of creating and transforming mathematical problems on the formation and development, in reflective-synergetic plan of complex knowledge and skills in students to perform the basic activity - problem solving, which confirms the thesis: reflective-synergetic effect of the combined use of the triad is expressed in self-completion, completion of the various subsystems of the system of opportunities that forms both the learner and the teacher as self-organizing personalities.
