This article is written under the influence of V. I. Arnold’s works, in which he suggested the possibility of considering mathematics as an experimental science, and proved the existence of phenomena in the description of which “soft”models have an advantage over the “hard”. The article is a kind of response to them anifesto, which was delivered by R. V. Shamin, head of the group of experimental mathematics. By this manifesto the group declares the emergence of a new branch in mathematics, which is characterized by the extensive use of computer experiments. Due to the fact that the means and methods of experimental mathematics have lately become increasingly involved in teaching mathematics, the authors of this article have considered it necessary to have their own manifesto published. The article aims to remind readers what place was occupied and is occupied by experimental methods in mathematics and mathematics education; to show positive and negative aspects of the impact which computer experiments involved in the process of learning mathematics may have on the formation of the style of pupils’ scientific thinking; to call for reasonable and prudent use of computer experiments both in mathematics and mathematics education.

After Lithuania acquired sovereign rights in the Memel Territory in 1923, various problematic issues arose – from the payment of pensions to former public servants of the Territory to the use of the Lithuanian language in autonomous entities. These issues were difficult to solve because the Territory’s judicial system, legal regulation, and legal doctrine had been rooted for centuries in German culture. The article analyzes the status of the Lithuanian language in the courts and schools of the Territory. The article relies on historical documents stored in the Central State Archive of Lithuania: the legal acts of the Memel territory, the governor’s pro memorias, correspondence of the president of the Directorate of the Memel territory and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, statistics, and the media of that time.

On the basis of newspaper sources (Učiteljski tovariš, Slovenski učitelj, Edinstvo) and archive materials of the teachers' association, the author presents the depoliticisation of the teachers' organisation Association of Yugoslav Teachers (Udruženje jugoslovanskega učiteljstva, hereinafter UJU) and the restored unity of the professional and trade union alliance of teachers in Slovenia. Initially the Association of Slovenian Teachers' Societies (Zaveza slovenskih učiteljskih društev, 1889) brought together all of the primary school teachers; however, towards the end of the 19th century, this teachers' professional organisation became distinctively liberally oriented in the political sense, thus the teachers of Catholic persuasion established their own association (Slomšek's Association / Slomškova zveza, 1900-1926). The politicisation of teachers served both main political parties, but not the teachers. The depoliticisation of the majority Slovenian teachers' organisation (UJU, the Ljubljana jurisdiction) succeeded as late as in 1926 thanks to the efforts of teachers from the Koroška and Štajerska regions, when in July 1926 the Declaration on Depoliticisation was adopted in Celje on their initiative. This Declaration allowed for the teachers of various ideological and political orientations to join the UJU teachers' associations. Teachers of Catholic persuasion joined the association, so in the end of 1926 the dual nature of the Slovenian teachers' professional associations came to an end.

Če vzamemo v roke spomine akademika profesorja dr.
