Summary/Abstract: The aim of this paper is to highlight some problems that I encountered while studying issues relating to the Ukrainian minority education in Slovakia between 1945 – 1970. There were several key issues which focussed on : the method and the possibility of acquiring new knowledge; the situation of processing the issues in selected Slovak archives, the making available of documents to researchers; the importance of verifying the data, the Department of Ukrainian schools; the question of language, etc.
