Материалната култура – клетата Пепеляшка в дома на Етнологията (образователно есе)

Author(s): Margarita Karamihova / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 2/2022

The article aims to provoke a discussion about studying and teaching tangible cultural heritage in Bulgaria. It compares the curricula in Ethnology at different universities. It is obvious that very little attention is drawn to the tangible cultural heritage. This leads to very poor preparation of students who are about to become teachers or to work in museums. A new trend for change is observed at St. Cyril and St. Methodius University of Veliko Tarnovo. It is taught by the expert in tangible cultural heritage Pavlin Chaushev, PhD. In recent years, the number of lecture courses in which he presents various aspects of material culture from antiquity to the present day has increased. Plamen Sabev, PhD, who is Head of the Laboratory for restoration and conservation at the Regional Museum of History in Veliko Tarnovo, was also involved in teaching ethnologists. His expertise in 3D reconstructions of museum sites is particularly interesting and promising for students. The author points out the positive effect of studying and teaching tangible and intangible cultural heritage at the University on students, and hopes this trend to be shared by other universities.

Author(s): Olena Starynska,Liubov Spivak,Alimie Osmanova,Olena Revutska / Language(s): English Issue: 1/2023

The article is devoted to the research of social intelligence as a factor of socio-psychological adaptation of university students with special educational needs during distance learning. Study methods of social intelligence and socio-psychological adaptation are used. The respondents’ contingent of consisted of 78 students with special educational needs. The average level of social intelligence was empirically established in part students, which testifies to their ability to understand properly and the ability to behavior in almost half of life situations. Almost a quarter of students have a higher than average level of social intelligence and the same part is lower than average, which confirms their ability to understand and predict other people’s behavior in almost three quarters and one quarter of life situations, respectively. Students do not have high and low levels of social intelligence. Most students (almost two-thirds) have an average level of adaptability and mal-adaptability; instead, a minority (almost one third) is at a high level. Adaptability and mal-adaptability, respectively, indicate consistency and inconsistency between the needs of the individual and the requirements of the social environment. Students with a low level of adaptability and mal-adaptability were not found. The defined statistically significant relationship of social intelligence with adaptability (direct) and maladaptive (reverse) shows the influence of social intelligence on the effectiveness of socio-psychological adaptation of students. The results of the research proved that social intelligence is a factor of socio-psychological adaptation of students with special educational needs during distance learning.

Педагогическото взаимодействие в условията на дистанционното обучение

Педагогическото взаимодействие в условията на дистанционното обучение

Author(s): Vladimir Dmitrievich Kiselev,Zhaneta Stoykova / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 4/2020

Distance education as a product of the digitization of modern society is substantially different from conventional education, but the two forms of learning have been used in parallel until recently, with the latter one considered the priority. The COVID-19 pandemic led to the implementation of restrictive measures of social distancing, which made distance education the sole viable alternative that allows the process of learning to continue uninterrupted. These conditions revealed a number of specific characteristics of subject-object interaction in the synchronous and asynchronous online learning environment, which are the focus of the this study and analysis. The results of the conducted scientific investigation definitively demonstrate the students’ need and desire to develop some of the necessary professional competences in direct interaction with their instructors in a setting that is suitable and specially equipped for the purposes of the education process and simulates the real conditions of their future work environment.

Wizerunek Polski (II RP, PRL i III RP) we współczesnych ukraińskich podręcznikach historii

Wizerunek Polski (II RP, PRL i III RP) we współczesnych ukraińskich podręcznikach historii

Author(s): Tetiana Melnychuk,Ołeksandr Nepryćkyj / Language(s): English Issue: 14/2022

The article analyses which image of Poland is present in modern Ukrainian textbooks of history for pupils of 10th and 11th forms (regarding the period since 1918 till present) that were written after the start of the Russian-Ukrainian war in 2014 and were published during 2018-2019. The study is based on content analysis of 30 textbooks on The History of Ukraine, World History and the integrated course “History: Ukraine and the World” for pupils of 10th and 11th forms. In order to determine how positive or negative is the image of Poland that is formed in the mind of the reader, the 4th year students of the History Department of Mykhaylo Kotsiubynsky Vinnytsia State Pedagogical University were asked to determine the number of mentions of the words Poland, Polish, the Poles etc. with positive, neutral and negative connotation in every textbook. The obtained results were then subject to quality analysis. We may observe the ambiguous reflection of the image of Poland in Ukrainian history schoolbooks, which is a logical reflection of long-lasting and complex historical relations between the Poles and the Ukrainians. In general, the image of Poland in The History of Ukraine textbooks is worse than the one presented in the World History textbooks as the authors were forced to show different sides of Polish-Ukrainian interaction in the 20th century. However, real historical conditions for Polish-Ukrainian friendship and cooperation at the current stage and the results of the work of the Joint International Committee of Experts on Improving the Content of School Textbooks have undoubtedly influenced the situation – in spite of highlighting truly difficult relations between the two peoples, the “enemy image” of Poland is not formed; attention is mostly focused on broad political, social, cultural and other circumstances that have led to ambiguous situations in Polish-Ukrainian relations. At the world history level authors mostly focused on presenting Poland as a victim of totalitarian regimes and a symbol of the fight for freedom.
