The paper reviews the main problems that have to be resolved by the manager teams of the corporations at the present stage of the country development. The debate of the identification and definition of the askeri cifliks lies at the center of the Ottoman economic history. Their existence arises important questions related to the balance in the Ottoman classical economic and social system based on the state land property, the legitimacy of the political power of the Ottoman ruling class and the revenue collection of the agrarian surplus. A typical case of land usurpation and private control over the appropriation of the agrarian surplus can be investigated in the detail thanks to a wealth of historical data consisting of tax registers (tapu-tahrir defters), inventories of vakf's revenues and complaints against the ciflik-owner dated from 16th to the beginning of 18th century. The foundation and practice of administrator (mutevelli) of the Sofu Mehmed Pasha's and Mustafa Aga's vakfs (charitable donations), in the beginning of the 18th century demonstrates the genesis of such farms by occupation of abandoned lands. In addition, the investigation of the genesis and character of Veli Efendi's ciflik shows different ways of violation of the land law by the ciflik-owner as a result of his attempts at accumulating land, power and riches. The information included in the documents concerning the case of the ciflik presents the importance of political and economic factors such as the impact of the military campaigns on the population and the possibility of usurpation of abandoned lands as a result of the flight of the villagers for creating big askeri cifliks. The administration and control over the vakf's revenues and properties as part of the ciflik-holder's official duties are also of great significance for making high profits through concealing the ciflik's population and workers, misappropriation of arable lands and tax evasion. In other words the investigation of the case of the Veli Efendi's ciflik sheds light on the basic debatable questions in the Ottoman historiography related to the genesis and development of the askeri cifliks in the Ottoman Empire and some violations of the law and taxation by their holder, especially during 17th-18th centuries.

This directory of institutions and organizations, working with selected vulnerable groups – prisoners, refugees and migrants, victims of domestic violence and human trafficking – was made within the framework of the initiative Civic Organizations: a Guarantee for Equal Rights of Vulnerable Groups before the State. State authorities and NGOs are presented in separate templates, outlining their contact information, as well as their main activities, related to vulnerable groups. The legal grounds for institutions’ work with those communities are described, as well as the key projects NGOs have worked on in the areas under research in the last few years.

This sociological analysis is based on empirical data from representative public opinion surveys conducted by the Center for the Study of Democracy in May 1998, February 1999 and September 1999. Its purpose is to outline the sustainable structure of the information society space in the country as well as the degree of influence of the mass media on the Bulgarian society. The analysis of dynamics and changes in citizens' attitudes for a period of a year and a half indicates the key trends in the development of public opinion towards the media. The report outlined a number of prerequisites underlying the effective functioning of the mass media in Bulgaria.

One of the most recently discussed - privatization - is increasingly out of the range of predictions and is becoming a reality. As the data from the latest study of the Center for the Study of Democracy on privatization issues shows, preparations for it are advanced: in 13% of the state-owned enterprises are currently under assessment, 22,.5% are analyzed and 10,.2% are included in privatization programs.

After Bulgaria joins the EU in 2007 the country will receive access to the Structural Funds (SF) and the Cohesion Fund of the European Union (EU), which are the main instruments for reducing the economic and social disparities within the Union. The effective management of these proceeds entails good knowledge of the EU Funds’ requirements and thorough preparation at national, regional and local levels both by the public and private sectors, including the small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). In 2000 in Lisbon, the European Commission and the EU Member States agreed upon the ambitious goal that by 2010 the European Union would have to become the most dynamic knowledge-based economy in the world . The instruments and mechanisms to achieve this goal have been outlined in the Lisbon Strategy of the EU. In 2005, an interim review on the progress of the Lisbon Strategy was done, based on which it was concluded that the Union was falling behind in some of its basic parameters, and that the gap between the EU and the leading innovative world economies of the United States and Japan was broadening.

In the practice of the marketing communications in the country the implementation of the rules for prevention of negative influences and protection of the rights of the consumers is being made on two levels - regulation by state authorities and self-regulation by professional associations and ethics commissions. The self-regulation covers more aspects, but has lower opportunities to influence on the restriction of the unethical activities in advertising and PR. Some of the activities are also subject of attention of both systems. This creates a need for development of strategic interactions between ethics commissions and state authorities, and this will also contribute to the cooperation between state institutions and the business. One of the opportunities for such cooperation is the co-regulation, which is also a point of attention in the article.

The region of Latin America is considered as one of the regions in the world with the highest degree of economic inequality. In the following report, the data on economic inequality in the region since the 90s of the 20th century is presented and analyzed. The aim of the data analysis is the identification of the interdependences between the degree of inequality, current macroeconomic policies and international economic processes in the last decades. Consequently, conclusions are drawn on the factors of economic inequality and the opportunities for contemporary governments to correct this problem characterizing a lot of national economies.

The assessment of the current status of weapons of mass destruction (WMD) is particularly important for the existence of the human race. In order to avoid local and larger conflicts using WMD, serious diplomatic negotiations are needed to ensure that problems are solved without the use of these weapons.

The article specifies briefly the legal terminology used in Bulgarian legislation in relation to the cultural wealth – “cultural wealth”, “cultural heritage”, “cultural values”, respectively combined with the modifiers “national”, “historical”, “world”, etc. Considering the entire review of this legislation, the law in its historical development doesn’t conform to the notion of a cultural value. It is assigned an “official role” – to establish order and conditions for protection and preservation of cultural values, which are public domain.In this respect, although there is not a legal regulation in Roman law, the main topic of the article – plagiarism – is essential in contemporary law on the protection of cultural values and especially for the protection of copyright. The article is dedicated to plagiarism related mostly to the works of fiction literature. The conclusion offers a brief overview of the rules and principles of Roman law bearing universal validity in modern times as well.

The report presents an empirical study which aims, through statistical and comparative analysis to examine whether the economic effects generated in the EU as a result of the telecommunications sector liberalization, are observed also in Bulgaria (as a result of the analogous process taken place in the country). The current status of key market indicators in the country is examined as of mid-2010, and some recommendations are made for generating of further benefits from the liberalization process.
