Studia Philosophica Wratislaviensia

Studia Philosophica Wratislaviensia

Studia Philosophica Wratislaviensia

Frequency: 4 issues / Country: Poland

Pismo Studia Philosophica Wratislaviensia zostało utworzone decyzja Rady Naukowej Instytutu Filozofii Uniwersytetu Wrocławskiego w 2005 roku. Patronat nad czasopismem sprawuje załozyciel pisma, tj. Ambicja ta została zasygnalizowana w nazwie pisma, swiadomie nawiazujacej do pisma „Studia Philosophica”, działajacego w poczatkach powojennej Polski, w którym swoje prace publikowali, miedzy innymi, Kazimierz Ajdukiewicz, Izydora Dambska, Roman Ingarden i Władysław Tatarkiewicz. Pierwszy, sygnalny numer pisma zawiera artykuły i studia napisane w przewazajacej wiekszosci przez autorów zwiazanych z wrocławskim srodowiskiem filozoficznym. Mamy wszelako nadzieje, ze w nieodległej przyszłosci „Studia Philosophica Wratislaviensia” stana sie pismem o zasiegu ogólnokrajowym i ze zaproszenie do współpracy z nami przyjma autorzy ze wszystkich uczelni w Polsce.

Język a Kultura

Frequency: 1 issues / Country: Poland

W naukowej dyskusji prowadzonej z wielu punktów widzenia uczestniczą także przedstawiciele różnych dyscyplin humanistycznych, m.in. badacze kultury, socjologowie i medioznawcy.

The Annals of European Studies

Rocznik Europeistyczny

Frequency: 1 issues / Country: Poland

“Rocznik Europeistyczny” (The Annals of European Studies) is a journal in which we are planning to publish papers devoted to European Studies, that is, studies of both the Europe that “should be united” and into that part of Europe that has already been united. It is clear that the papers will address issues within the fields of politics, law, history, economics, cultural studies and related disciplines.

Above all, the journal will prefer those papers, studies and scientific contributions that will fulfil the tasks connected with the mission of European Studies: studies on the European civilisation and cultural area, on the political and cultural area (European Studies in the broad sense) as well as on the European Union and its areas of activity/policies (European Studies in the narrow sense); areas constituting the particular domain of Europeanist knowledge.

“The Annals of European Studies” thereby wish to reflect the conviction that the community of Europeanists, starting from studies from the perspectives of political science, social science, economics, law, history, etc., has developed a subject matter that is proper to European Studies and described in the Europeanist language (as evidenced by numerous Europeanist lexicons), with a specific catalogue of research topics; that it has developed its own specificity of European Studies, justifying the statement that European Studies have achieved a high degree of identity.

Mountains-Literature-Culture

Mountains-Literature-Culture

Góry-Literatura-Kultura

Frequency: 1 issues / Country: Poland

The journal “Mountains-Literature-Culture” has been appearing since 1996. It is a humanities journal which presents the results of research on the cultural role of the mountains, as well as showing the ways in which an interest in the mountains and matters related to them find manifestation in Polish and world literature and art. The aim of the journal is to support the integrated studies of various aspects of the mountains as cultural sites. The journal has been founded as a response to an ever more clearly recognized need to humanize broadly understood ecological thought and various ecological issues. This compels the authors whose texts are published in the journal to transcend the strictures of particular scientific disciplines and to engage in interdisciplinary discourse.

The studies devoted to the mountains issues open up a broader perspective on the problems of the philosophy of nature, nature aesthetics, cultural anthropology, literary history and the history of art. Works which belong to this vast interdisciplinary thematic field are expected to provide a fresh look at multiple aspects of the culture-building role of the mountains and offer a new angle at changing attitudes towards these sites. In particular, new light should be cast on the works arising from a direct contact with the mountains, regarded as both natural and cultural phenomena. Therefore the goal and ambition of the authors of the texts that have been published in the journal so far has been to demonstrate an inspiring effect of the mountains, interpreted as a great universal value, on creative imagination in different cultural circumstances, as well as showing philosophical, artistic and social consequences of this influence. This policy will be continued in the volumes to follow. Due to the multifaceted character and the broad scope of the mountains themes, all subsequent volumes will be published as monographs.

Student Journal of Law, Administration and Economics

Student Journal of Law, Administration and Economics

Studenckie Prace Prawnicze, Administratywistyczne i Ekonomiczne

Frequency: 2 issues / Country: Poland

Studenckie Prace Prawnicze, Administratywistyczne i Ekonomiczne (Student Journal of Law, Administration and Economics) draws on the tradition of Prace Prawnicze (Law Papers) published in the 1960s on the initiative of students from the Faculty of Law, University of Wrocław. It was a unique publication at the time, featuring scholarly papers by students. The concept of publishing papers by young scholars was revived in the 21st century, a decision that was certainly influenced by a revival of the student research movement as well as the need to document the results of the students’ various research initiatives.

Changes in the structure of the course of study (including, in particular, doctoral studies being recognised at the third level of studies) and in the structure of the Faculty of Law, which is now called Faculty of Law, Administration and Economics have led to a change of the title as well as the nature of articles published in Studenckie Prace Prawnicze, Administratywistyczne i Ekonomiczne. Readers will find them articles based on papers delivered at conferences by undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students of the Faculty as well as the Faculty’s guests coming to Wrocław to take part in international conferences or thanks to scholarships granted by international foundations. The journal also features papers submitted for publication and prepared as part of doctoral seminars, i.e. papers that herald future doctoral dissertations. As it turns out, Studenckie Prace Prawnicze, Administratywistyczne i Ekonomiczne has documented the first steps in the academic careers of lecturers workings at several higher education institutions. The title, Studenckie Prace Prawnicze, Administratywistyczne i Ekonomiczne (Student Papers in Law, Administration and Economics), clearly indicate that the papers published in the journal concern various disciplines and discuss a broad spectrum of topics. The Editorial Board and Editorial Committee seek to maintain thematic consistency set by e.g. titles of international conferences organised at the Faculty, although this is not always possible, as the student research movement at the Faculty of Law, Administration and Economics is characterised by a high number and variety of research societies active at the Faculty, and the frequency of publication means that best papers have to be selected, a process facilitated by internal and external (from outside the Faculty and outside the University of Wrocław) reviewers. The Editorial Committee, editor of the journal and the Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Wrocławskiego publishing house do their best to make sure that the papers published in the journal meet the high requirements imposed on scholarly publications.
