Summary/Abstract: Intoxication with kratom has recently become a frequent cause of acute need for pre-hospital emergency care. Due to the relatively easy availability of this natural stimulant (dangerous drug), healthcare workers are confronted with the negative consequences of consuming kratom or kratom-based products on the human body. The authors not only provide information regarding the symptoms of intoxication, but also point out this complex issue in the form of two case reports from a real intervention by a medical emergency service team.
