Wielowymiarowość postaw patriotycznych. Przykład rodziny Smoleńskich z Grabienic Małych z drugiej połowy XIX i początku XX wieku

W opracowaniu wskazuje się, że rodzina Smoleńskich z Grabienic Małych stanowiła typowy przykład przechodzenia w drugiej połowie XIX w. z stanu drobnoszlacheckiego w inteligencję. Rzeczywistość polityczna, funkcjonowanie pod zaborami kształtowały szczególne postawy patriotyczne nowo tworzącej się inteligencji. Postawy te ujawniały się w wielowymiarowości form, od aktywności insurekcyjnej w pierwszej połowie XIX w. po urzeczywistnianie ideałów pozytywistycznych w drugiej połowie XIX w. i aktywności kulturowej na początku XX w. Pojmowanie patriotyzmu jako solidnej pracy u podstaw przez członków rodziny Smoleńskich, jak też ich zdolności duchowe doprowadziły ich do pozycji luminarzy polskiego życia kulturowego. Z punktu widzenia generowania postaw patriotycznych szczególną rolę pełnił historyk i pedagog Władysław Smoleński (1851–1926) – jeden z najwybitniejszych przedstawicieli pozytywizmu warszawskiego.

Approaches to the Influence of Uncertainties on Poverty Risk in the European Union

In 2010, the European Union has proposed to eradicate poverty at the level of the community space. For this purpose, legislative and economic steps have been taken and the Strategy for social inclusion and equal opportunities has been developed. Faced with multiple economic crises, Europe has experienced significant disparities in the risk of poverty at the level of the Member States. We aim to conduct a study on the influence of uncertainties on the risk of poverty in the European Union. The main objective is to develop an econometric model to study the effect of contagion of uncertainties on the risk of poverty. The methods used are to apply econometric modelling processes on social indicators for the period 2010-2021 at European level. The results of the study will highlight the impact of uncertainty on the risk of poverty and will allow the formulation of public policies to help supranational decision makers to limit this phenomenon at the level of the European Union.

Owned Stadiums in Italy: General Overview and Comparison with European Clubs

One of the most debated topics when it comes to football, especially in Italy, is the possibility for football clubs to have their own stadium. In Europe, especially in the top five leagues, most teams either have their own stadium, or have recently renovated their facilities and modernized them. In Italy, however, the situation is quite different. Most football stadiums are municipally owned and have one of the highest obsolescence rates in Europe, as the last renovations date back to 1990, coinciding with the World Cup in the country. It is therefore clear, that for a nation like Italy, where football is the most played and followed sport, the situation has become unsustainable. Many clubs, in fact, have significant financial difficulties and must also deal with the costs of rent and stadium management, expenses that would be reduced to zero with the construction of a stadium of their own. The objective of this paper is to analyze the impact of an owned stadium on club accounts and to analyze the way in which a stadium is built.

Aspects of the Management Style of Top Managers of the Treatment Centers for Women Violence. The Israeli Case

The article discusses the results of a mixed research, quantitative and qualitative, about the management style practiced by the top managers of 52 violence treatment centers for abused women from the state of Israel. Domestic violence is abusive behavior aimed at controlling; the offender attempts to control the injured in different ways. Violence against women is a phenomenon which affects in Israel many women, from each ethnic group, mainly Arab. The main aim of the research is to explore and identify the management style and its influence on the methods of treatment centers for the prevention of women violence in the State of Israel. Most of the centers in Israel are NGOs, mostly funded by public funds since are recognized as providing social services. The research identified that the most used management style is autocratic and paternalistic and that top managers of violence treatment centers use a combination of these styles, including the democratic and to a less extent the bureaucratic style. Several recommendations are formulated aimed at improving the management of the centers based on increased collaboration with its stakeholders.

The findings, relevant for policymakers, underscore the importance of robust governance in navigating economic challenges. This novel approach combines RBV and QCA, offering insights into the dynamics of financial and logistical landscapes during global upheavals.

Kategoria mitu w narracji Konstantego Michalskiego CM (1879–1947) o dziejach Europy pierwszej połowy XX w.

Obecność kategorii mitu w twórczości ks. Konstantego Michalskiego obecna jest w dwóch wymiarach. Pierwszy ma miejsce w uprawianej przez niego filozofii dziejów i opisie dziejów mitu niemieckiego narodowego socjalizmu. Drugi wymiar to wkład w rozwój teoretycznych podstaw kategorii mitu, w tworzenie jej struktury (wyłonienie podstawowych elementów). Koncepcja ta wyłania się na kanwie krytycznych analiz nazizmu, polemiki z jego twórcami oraz z odniesieniami do wychowania jako obszaru wdrażania w życie społeczne mitu totalitarnej ideologii. Nieodłączną kwestię narracji o micie nazizmu są biograficzne konteksty jej autora. Michalski jako humanista, wychowanek niemieckiej szkoły podstawowej brutalnie germanizującej polskie dzieci, później więzień obozu w Sachsenhausen, zadaje sobie obowiązek śledzenia, analizowania i komentowania zmian kulturowych i ich uwarunkowań: mitów w postaci totalitaryzmów, ale także wielkich, konstruktywnych mitów kultury. Szczególnym przykładem jest mit kultury katolickiej, jako propozycja mitu polskiego, mitu na (prze)trwanie komunizmu.

Women and Men in Argentinean Political Tradition (1810–1947)

María Estela Martínez de Perón, better known as Isabel Perón, became president of Argentina upon her husband’s death in 1974. She first served as vice president to her husband, Juan Domingo Perón, during his third term in office, starting in 1973.Compared to Peron, Argentina’s most legendary leader, serving from 1976 to 1974, Isabel (Peron’s third wife) possessed no evident leadership skills. Isabel significantly differed from Peron’s second wife, Eva (Evita) Perón, who was viewed as the 'sanctity' in the eyes of its people. Eva served as a key partner in Peron's rise to power during his first term in 1951-1946, accompanying him through his election campaign in which he was elected to a second term. Peron was overthrown from office in 1955 in a military coup. His second term began with an attempt to present the candidacy of Eva for vice president which proved unsuccessful as military chiefs, original partners of Peron, failed to support Eva’s candidacy.Very few women have been key players in Argentinian history. Change came about, however, during Peron's first term, with support for women's suffrage in 1947. With popular support ensuring the leader's second term, this point in time changed the map on women’s rights. So while not considered a saint, such as Eva, Isabel may be analyzed as part of the personal and political life of Peron, as well as a key figure in Argentinian history.

Tropem prymarnym jest eksploracja opowieści autobiograficznej jako wspomnień-marzeń zarazem (D. Demetrio, G. Bachelard), co skutkuje wprowadzeniem pojęcia biograficzności marzeń. Twórcze inspiracje płynące z koncepcji czasoprzestrzeni biograficznej M. Lanie-Bayle; jej konceptu vestige et vertige tj. śladu i śladu odwróconego; poetyki marzenia i Quatre éléments (Czterech Żywiołów) G. Bachelarda; geopoetyki - finalnie prowadzą do konstrukcji metody topoanalizy autobiograficzno-symbolicznej. Jest to metoda uniwersalna badająca marzenia różnych pokoleń. Celem artykułu jest ostatecznie ukazanie edukacyjnych sensów marzeń na przykładzie pokolenia PRL-u z okresu początku komunizmu.

Resilience and Innovation: The European Governance System's Response to COVID-19

The COVID-19 pandemic presented an unprecedented challenge to European governance systems, testing their capacity to respond effectively to a multifaceted crisis. We conducted a systematic search between January and February 2023 of originally published articles from three electronic databases, such as Scopus, Google Scholar, and OECD iLibrary, including papers that were published in the last decade. This review provides a concise overview of the key aspects of European governance in the face of the pandemic. It discusses the initial hurdles in coordination and solidarity among member states, the strain on healthcare systems, economic repercussions, and the imperative for digital transformation. The review presents the current scope of research, highlights the limitation, and provides recommendations for future perspectives

Approaches to Leadership from the Perspective of Generation Z

Generation Z poses a significant challenge for organizations, as its members express a clear preference for adaptive leaders who are capable of navigating change effectively. This generation, however, is poised to become the leaders of tomorrow. Regardless of generational affiliation, all individuals must possess a high degree of selfawareness to successfully adapt to future demands. This paper examines the leadership perspectives of Romanian high school students. The motivation behind this research stems from the contemporary relevance of Generation Z's views on leadership. A quantitative approach was employed, utilizing a structured survey to gather responses from high school students regarding their views on leadership. The objectives of this study include identifying the leadership style favoured by these students and exploring the factors that influence their leadership preferences. The survey was conducted online in February 2024 using Google Forms, and the data were analysed with Microsoft Excel and SPSS statistical software. I hope that the findings of this research will be valuable to those interested in this topic, particularly PhD students and others seeking a deeper understanding of Generation Z's approach to leadership.

Teodor Iljaszewicz (1910–1948) – między biografią poety i działacza narodowego a pedagoga

Postać Teodora Iljaszewicza na trwale wpisała się w historię literatury białoruskiej i białoruskiego ruchu narodowego, szczególnie poczynając od lat 90. XX w., gdy powstała niepodległa Republika Białoruś. Jego nazwisko znalazło się w encyklopediach i słownikach biograficznych. Przedstawia się go jako białoruskiego poetę, prozaika, historyka, dziennikarza i działacza społeczno-kulturalnego. Pomija się zaś jego podstawowy zawód nauczyciela i pedagoga, który był dla niego nie tylko źródłem utrzymania, ale też pasją i powołaniem. Jego działalność w dziedzinie oświaty białoruskiej – zarówno pedagogiczna, jak i organizacyjna zasługują na odrębne zainteresowanie. Po ukończeniu studiów bowiem poświęcił się jej bezgranicznie. Bez względu na okoliczności starał się kształcić młodzież białoruską w języku ojczystym. W II Rzeczypospolitej w latach 1934-1937 uczył języka białoruskiego w Wileńskim Gimnazjum Białoruskim i w Prawosławnym Seminarium Duchownym w Wilnie. W latach 1939-1941 oraz 1941-1944 organizował szkolnictwo białoruskie na Białostocczyźnie, a w latach 1944-1948 w warunkach emigracji w powojennych Niemczech uczył dzieci i młodzież, wydawał podręczniki, organizował skauting i YMCA. Spojrzenie całościowe na życie i działalność Teodora Iljaszewicza wskazuje, jak ważną w jego życiu była działalność oświatowa, można nawet stwierdzić, że traktował ją priorytetowo, zaś twórczość literacka i naukowa była jej uzupełnieniem.

The Life Behind the Books: Reconstructing the Przeworskis’ Biographies

Adopting critical and feminist archival approaches, this article reconstructs the dis/continuous biographies of the Przeworskis, intertwined with the activities of the Wydawnictwo J. Przeworskiego (J. Przeworski Publishing House), which excelled in innovative life-writing and fiction, avant-garde aesthetics, works of progressive intellectuals, and bestsellers by women writers. As the Przeworskis were cultural mediators active in the global transfer of modernist works in Central Europe and in the UK, select UK and US archives act as substitute repositories, allowing some gaps in the scholarship on J. Przeworski to be filled. The article focuses on marginalized women publishers whose role in modernist publishing networks are only now being uncovered. Drawing on publishing correspondence, the biographical reconstruction is supported by recollections of family, other people in the literary marketplace, and Holocaust survivors. The research findings highlight the need to re-investigate previous assumptions on interwar print culture, frequently based on limited data and reproducing the mechanisms of systemic violence.

Life-Writing in the Works of Polish Critics: Situated Knowledge or an Epidemic of Narcissism?

Profesorowie pedagogiki i psychologii na uniwersytetach II Rzeczypospolitej

W każdym z sześciu istniejących w okresie międzywojennym uniwersytetów funkcjonowały katedry o profilu pedagogicznym i psychologicznym. Zwykle ich charakter i nazewnictwo było niejednolite. W artykule przedstawiono portret zbiorowy profesorów stojących na czele wspomnianych katedr. Takich osób było 16 (Stefan Baley, Zygmunt Bielawski, Stefan Błachowski, Ludwik Chmaj, Antoni Danysz, Ludwik Jaxa Bykowski, Stanisław Kobyłecki, Mieczysław Kreutz, Zygmunt Bolesław Kukulski, Stanisław Łempicki, Marian Massonius, Zygmunt Mysłakowski, Bogdan Nawroczyński, Bogdan Suchodolski, Stefan Szuman i Władysław Witwicki). Międzywojenni profesorowie pedagogiki i psychologii na tle innych kierowników katedr uniwersyteckich byli grupą dość typową. Dotyczyło to m.in. wykształcenia uzyskanego często na więcej niż jednej uczelni, a także sposobu i okoliczności przechodzenia przez kolejne szczeble awansu naukowego i zawodowego. Były jednak także obszary, które wyróżniały profesorów interesujących nas specjalności. Przede wszystkim trzeba zwrócić uwagę na wyjątkowo dużą różnorodność wybieranych kierunków kształcenia przygotowujących do przyszłej pracy zawodowej. Oprócz pedagogiki lub/i psychologii większość osób przed objęciem katedry kształciła się zwykle także w zakresie innych dyscyplin, nie tylko pokrewnych. Dzięki temu duża część z nich była faktycznie badaczami interdyscyplinarnymi.

Sprawności moralne a postawa zawodowa położnych - Pedagogiczne implikacje postawy moralnej Stanisławy Leszczyńskiej – położnej z Auschwitz-Birkenau

Celem poznawczym pracy jest ukazanie znaczenia sprawności moralnych dla postawy zawodowej położnych w skrajnej sytuacji społecznej. Projekt badawczy zrealizowano na przykładzie opieki położniczej sprawowanej przez Stanisławę Leszczyńską dla rodzących kobiet w nazistowskim obozie koncentracyjnym Auschwitz-Birkenau. Zastosowano metody badawcze: analizy, syntezy i studium przypadku. Artykuł formalnie i materialnie wpisuje się w subdyscyplinę biografistyki pedagogicznej. Główny wniosek z przeprowadzonych badań potwierdza koherencję postawy moralnej w sytuacjach granicznych jako rezultatu procesu samowychowania do określonych sprawności moralnych. Postuluje się przywrócenie znaczenia aretologii pedagogicznej w kształceniu zawodowym i wychowaniu.

ACCESSING SUSTAINABLE LINK AMID ACCESS TO ELECTRICITY CONSUMPTION AND LABOR FORCE PARTICIPATION RATE IN SOUTH AFRICA

Labor force participation rate is a strong issue that affect the performance of any economy including South Africa. Sequel to this, this paper accesses the link amid access to electricity consumption and labor force participation rate of male (LFPRM) in South Africa. Using yearly data from 1991- 2020. The study employed ARDL technique to evaluate the data. The findings of the study shows that access to electricity consumption (AEC) positively stimulate labor force participation rate of male in the long run while gross domestic product per capita growth impacted negatively on LFPRM in the short-run. The paper recommends that government should ensure that access to electricity consumption is improved and efficient in South Africa in order to boost LFPRM.

THE INFLUENCE OF STRESS ON THE TEACHER'S MENTAL HEALTH: CAUSES AND BEHAVIOURAL STRATEGIES

The Ukrainian population has been in a state of war for a long time and it found its mark in psychological and emotional tension, which affects the daily life of all citizens. Preschool children and high school students need special attention because these age categories are characterized by sensitivity, the individuality formation, shaping character and outlook. For a deeper understanding of the stress role and place in the life and professional activity of teachers, it is necessary to reveal the stress concept, its place in the internal structure of professional and pedagogical activity. At the same time, stress should be considered not only as an external factor caused by the extremity of the situation but also as a purposeful activity that forms a personality. The article offers a theoretical analysis of the stress problem within pedagogical workers, outlines its causes, and characterizes various behavioural strategies in stressful situations.

National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) in the Romanian Online News Media. Media Representations and Political Discourse of the Key Actors

The Romanian media coverage of the NRRP builds on the political discourse of the public actors who mainly used the NRRP debate either to gain visibility, or to campaign. Emotions, conflict and negativity news values are dominant, and the analysis and contextualization usually lack from the news stories. The present study is a content based approach, which aims to identify who are the most prominent actors involved in the debate about the Romanian National Recovery and Resilience Plan, how these public figures are inter-connected in the media discourse and which are the main features of their discourse, and what topics associated to the six pillars of the Recovery and Resilience Facility are mentioned most frequently in the public discourse of the key public actors.
