Author(s): Jelena Mirosavljević / Language(s): Serbian Issue: 2/2020

The school must follow changes in society. As science is constantly advancing, innovations are common in all spheres. However, the educational system is basically a system founded by Jan Amos Comenius in the 17th century. The class-hour and subject system has been widely represented for three and a half centuries. In this paper, we will present the features of that system, its positive sides, as well as what has been criticized. Finally, we will point out the challenges facing the class-hour and subject system in the 21st century. The research is of a theoretical-comparative character. We will also do a comparison of our school system and some other school systems in Europe, in order to see how much these systems match or differ from the class-hour and subject system.

ТРАНСФОРМАТИВНИМ ДИЈАЛОГОМ ДО ПРАВА ДЕТЕТА

Author(s): Marina Lazić / Language(s): Serbian Issue: 2/2017

In order to communicate pupils in a purposeful and constructive way, it is necessary to cultivate the culture of dialogue, both in the family and in the educational context. For this reason, a critical thinking should be developed, which can be achieved by placing students in situations that look at problems from different aspects and solve them in different ways. This is precisely what allows transformative dialogue, one of the expressive transformational education that seeks to build a peaceful and just world, in which everyone has equal opportunities for development and promotion. The author in this paper first theoretically clarifies the problem, determines the terms transformative education and transformative dialogue more closely, and then states the possibilities of its application in teaching. Especially suitable is the teaching of the Serbian language, and within it the processing of literary texts. He showed how fairy tale H. K. Andersen Carevo's new suit can be processed in the third grade of the elementary school using a transformative dialogue and, in this way, contribute to the education for the rights of the child.

Социални аксиоми и стилове на решаване на проблеми в професионална университетска среда

Author(s): Aleksander Popkochev / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 2/2024

What are social axioms and problem-solving styles, and how do they fit in the professional environment of higher education? The research seeks an answer to the question in a sample of 34 university lecturers using a shortened and an easier-to-use version of SAS test and Kirton KAI Inventory for the styles. Verification in the environment of SPSS 23 shows a uniform distribution and high values of Cronbach’s reliability coefficient. The axioms Effort-Reward and Social Complexity are leading for the respondents. Efficiency and Conformity are the leading decision-making styles. The values of the subscales Originality, Effort Reward and Social Complexity are below 0.7. No correlation has been found between the professional experience of the researched subjects and the studied social axioms and problem-solving styles. A partial one has the university position in one of the styles and two structural components of the social axioms. Only in one case ANOVA confirms the hypothesis of a correlation between the social axioms’ subscales and problem-solving styles (Destiny Control-Conformity). Social axioms and preferred problem-solving styles appear to show some flexibility. Their leading components satisfactorily fit into the conditions of the professional activity of the studied lecturers.

Възможна ли е равнопоставеността между мъжете и жените? Ситуацията в България и по света

Author(s): Gergana Hristova / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 2/2024

In this text, I am basing my discussion on the World Economic Forum report for 2022, which shows that global gender equality could take another 132 years, measuring inequality in four main areas: economy, education, health, and political representation. While 47 countries show equality in literacy, significant gaps remain, especially in Africa and South Asia. Educational access is higher among women, but global issues such as poverty and discrimination continue to hinder girls’ access to education. Progress has been observed in Asia, while inequalities remain stable in North Africa. The EU reports a higher level of completed tertiary education among women compared to men, aiming for 45% completion by 2030. However, women still bear the primary responsibility for caregiving and household work, especially in rural areas. Women’s labor rights and economic opportunities are improving, but are still affected by discriminatory practices and social norms. Progress in gender equality varies around the world, with greater advances observed in Western societies compared to traditional societies where women still struggle for basic rights.

Approaches to Assessing the Creative Climate and Potential for Innovativeness of Educational Organizations

Author(s): Anna Varbanova / Language(s): English Issue: 2/2024

The paper provides an overview of selected methods and instruments for assessing the innovative capacity of organizations in general while raising questions about their potential application to schools. The premise is that diagnostics would be pointless if it were not accompanied by a strategy as well as a tool at the fingertips of school managers or leaders because the forms in which innovative potential can be manifested in a school are various. Innovation is not merely an object of transfer and exchange, but a matter of organizational climate which needs to be nurtured. Thus, the paper argues that the research of potential for innovativeness should be conducted by assessing the creative climate instead of organizational innovative culture; and suggests that organizational microclimate in the educational organization should be accompanied by efforts to foster, and respectively – assess – the team‘s competencies related to generating and implementing local innovative solutions. Whatever strategies, approaches, and skill sets the managing team chooses or has access to, these can only be effectively applied if 1) the settings (givens and constraints) are well understood and are taken into account; and 2) there is an awareness of the differences between traditional management and innovation management, which is associated with facilitating processes rather than leading them. The latter is covered elsewhere and not addressed here.

Критерии за индексиране в Index Copernicus – анализ на българските научни списания в полската наукометрична платформа

Author(s): Savina Kirilova / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 3/2024

Indexing is considered a means of assessing the quality and impact of scientific publications. Each information system defines its selection policy by the appropriate rules, procedures and controls to ensure that the sources included in it meet the standards for scientific publishing. This article examines the criteria for indexing scientific journals in Index Copernicus and compares them with the indexing procedures of Scopus and Web of Science databases, with a focus on Bulgarian journals included in the Polish scientometric platform. Data related to the proper identification of journals, their editorial policies, open access publishing, indexing in academic research databases, and impact indicators are analyzed. The study found similarities in the indexing criteria of Index Copernicus and reputable databases Scopus и Web of Science, but differences are observed regarding the transparency and control of their application.

Challenges to Investments in Solar Energy in The EU in Its Quest for Energy Independence

Author(s): Svetoslav Spassov / Language(s): English Issue: 3/2024

This paper discusses the current challenges to solar energy capacity building in the EU in attempting to achieve both, the sustainable development goals and bigger energy independence from third countries. One particular challenge concerns the risks to investors in solar energy industry, deriving from the fast growing number of solar installations across the Member States while the existing electricity cross-border grid cannot meet the needs of the EU energy market. This leads to wasting green energy and negative prices that affect the return on investment, apart from existing bureaucratic obstacles and regulatory difficulties. The paper argues that this and other socio-economic and political uncertainties and f laws such as occupational issues and the lack of long-term EU and state policies supporting solar energy investments in some countries do hinder the energy transition. Therefore, it is necessary that investments in solar energy address all these challenges otherwise finding alternatives to energy dependence on Russia and achieving the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals will be jeopardized.

Човешкокапиталовото присъствие: теоретични щрихи, функционални прояви и съвременни български прескрипции

Author(s): Daniela Petkova Krasteva / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 3/2024

The aim of the study is to interpret the main methodological segments of human capital presence: theoretical profile, recognition process and contemporary Bulgarian implications of human capital. The analysis is based on a general synthesis of conceptual solutions and comparative data in a historical and prospective perspective. The novelties refer to additions to the definition of the concepts of “capital” and “human capital”, an attempt at differentiated presentation of the successive transformations of the system-wide characteristics (socialization, economization and organization) into the main identifying features of human capital, generalized evidence of its “responsibility” in Bulgarian development in the third decade of the present century.
